I breathed heavily in front of the school mirror. This is it, after a long time of waiting; the annual event has finally come. I can finally win a date with Taeyeon and I just hope nobody would bid on her or something. I counted one to ten in my head. I know I cheated to get her, but I just really can’t help myself. The only one who disagreed greatly upon my decision was

Sunny flicked my forehead, “Yah! Do you know what you have done!?”

I held my forehead, “Yah! Can’t you just be happy for me?!”

She scoffed, “Like I would be?! What if they notice? And moreover, why would you even bother spending so much money on someone like her?!”

“Yah! Don’t speak about her like that!” She sighed heavily and pinched the bridge of her nose, “What if your father knows about this?! What do you think he would say?!”

“Ugh… It’s my money Sunny, I earned it from working” She creased her forehead, “Work? Since when did you work?”

I sighed in resignation, “Can you keep a secret?” Sunny then nodded meekly

“Remember my dad’s arch enemy?” She creased her forehead, “Which one?”

“Director Park Jungwoo?” She made an ‘o’ with and I looked away from her, “I worked part-time for that guy”

“What did you do? Don’t tell me…” I squinted my eyes at her and she just gasped, “Yah! You lost your ity to some old geezer!?”

“YAH! What the chuck are you saying?! I did not sell my body! I worked as his secretary! You disgusting midget!”

“Yah! What did I say about midget!?” I held both of my hands up in surrender, “Sorry… It’s just that, by the thought of it, sends me shivers down my spine that I do not like one bit of it!”

Sunny laughed while I could just laugh along too, “Yah, I just hope that, that Taeyeon of yours would like you…”

“Of course she’ll like me! What’s there not to like?!”

Sunny scoffed, “You two don’t even talk how do you know if she does?!”

“Just because!” I tried to reason out. But the truth is, Sunny was right. How could she like me when we don’t even know a thing about each other except our names? I was deep within my thoughts when she suddenly patted my back

“Yah, we have to go to the auditorium. It’s about to start.” I nodded at her and we started walking towards the auditorium. Once we arrived at the place, I couldn’t believe that it was jam-packed with guys. Everybody was excited and I guess that guy who informed me about this event was right. It’s a guy’s dream to have this event conducted

I looked around everywhere to look for a seat and when I found one, I didn’t hesitate to run and sit on there. I let out a heavy sigh and Sunny did too. We looked at each other and giggled to ourselves. We continued to be like that when

“Yah, Byun Baekhyun!” We looked to our side and saw a tall guy with somewhat elf ears looking towards the guy who was looking for a seat. The Baekhyun guy smiled and went to the tall guy

“I heard you’re going to bid… Is that true? Byun Baekhyun bidding?”

The Baekhyun guy chuckled, “Yeah… She joined you know…”

The tall guy raised a brow, “Who?”

The Baekhyun guy smiled sheepishly, “Kim Taeyeon. You know, the girl from Class A…”

“Psh! You’re betting on a nerd!?” The Baekhyun guy flicked the tall guy’s forehead, “You just haven’t seen her yet!”

The tall guy chuckled, “Sorry, I forgot you’ve been crushing on her for a long time. Oh well, seems like you’re going to win her out anyway… Nobody’s going to bid on some nerd”

“YAH!” I couldn’t help but scream at the two. I didn’t realize what I did when suddenly the loud noise inside the room dispersed and everybody’s eyes were right upon me. The two guys looked at me confusingly

“D-don’t judge the book by its cover… It’s mean…” Baekhyun guy smiled at me and nodded while he just smirked at the tall guy, “See what I mean?”

And then they made their way to their seat. Once I sat down, Sunny laughed like a madman and I could just hide myself from shame, “Shut up Lee Soonkyu…”

“Oh my god… I’m so sorry, hahaha!” I let out a heavy sigh. Seems like I predicted this auction wrong.

We were busy talking and everything when suddenly, “Welcome, students! To the Annual Basket Girls Fundraising Program!” I was startled in my seat when people cheered around us as if they were hungry wolves and Sunny just giggled, she then went closer to my ear and whispered

“Men are normally like this, just relax…” I nodded meekly at her and she just patted my shoulder, “Now, can we give a round of applause to our new set of basket girls!”

And then everybody just continued clapping as the girls from the stage started appearing one by one in a form of a line. I was still waiting for the person I’ve been waiting to see, until finally she appeared. I think my heart skipped a beat when I saw her.

The dress she wore looked perfect on her. It fell just few inches above her knee with her blonde locks tied in a ponytail to one side. She looked beautiful. Breathtaking even.

 “Okay now, the bidding would start off with a starting price of fifty two thousand Korean won. You may bid to the highest price as long as you could provide whatever you have bid. So good luck students and I hope we’ll have fun today”

Then, the auction started. The auction seemed to fly off faster than I thought it would be. Men bid to the highest price they could think of, and I just couldn’t help but be like a nervous wreck in my seat due to the fact that I knew Taeyeon’s name was soon to be called.
