I heard the door close behind me and I could just stand there like the usual awkward turtle I was. Mr. Hwang sat on one of the chairs and I remained unmoved, "Well don't just stand there Ms. Taeyeon, have a seat"

I nodded and took the seat opposite of him. He cleared his throat and relaxed on his seat, "You like Jasmine tea?"

Oh god. Maybe agreeing to be here was such a bad idea! "Uhh, s-sure Mr. Hwang" He then poured some of the tea in my cup and handed it to me. I drank slowly as I tried not to be too awkward around Tiffany's father

He smiled, "Gosh you're adorable. No wonder Stephanie liked you"

I chuckled nervously, "Please feel comfortable to be around me, after all, you'd be my daughter-in-law someday"

I choked on my drink, "D-daughter in law?!"

He chuckled, "Well I hope so. You're the most decent one she dated"

I put my cup down, "M-most decent?" What did he mean about that!?

Mr. Hwang sighed, "Yeah. She's had numerous of flings but I think I have never seen her this serious on someone. I'm glad you're that someone, Ms. Taeyeon"

Oh. So she indeed was a player, "T-thank you sir"

"Oh please, call me dad" I looked at him with my mouth agape, "Mr. Hwang, I--"

"It's dad Ms. Taeyeon. Now, let's cut to the chase"

I closed my mouth and tried to listen closely, "Do you love my daughter Ms. Taeyeon?"

I nodded, "With all my heart, dad"

He smiled, "Okay. Did you like her just because she has the money or just because of her looks?"

"Neither, dad" He nodded, "What did you like about her then?"

I smiled slightly, "Her presence" Mr. Hwang cocked a brow and I stifled a laugh at my weirdness, "It's just that your daughter makes me feel happy and all. That with money and looks put aside, she makes a wonderful person. Though she's put me into so much crap"

He scoffed and rolled his eyes, "Tell me about it." I chuckled at his behaviour, "Your daughter is also very different from all the people I've met. I've never seen a person with so much determination in things when they've put their mind to it"

"Sorry, I must've handed down those genes on her"

I giggled, "But I love those sides of her too and everything that makes her, herself"

Mr. Hwang nodded in agreement, "Well, have you considered marrying her someday?"

I gulped at the question. Seems like this conversation gets deeper by the minute that I'm afraid if this man would take all my answers against me once I screw up someday. I drank the remaining tea in my cup and I heard him chuckle

"It's not like I'm taking this conversation to the heart Ms. Taeyeon. You guys are too young to get married, plus you're still in college. You have so much ahead of you and marriage at such a young age is a no-no. I just wanted to know how much do you like my daughter because in all honesty, seeing her change so drastically just because of you really makes me wonder what kind of person you are"

I sighed in relief, "Mr. Hw- Dad, I'm just a simple human being. I too, wondered at first what is it that made her like me, but all I could say is that, as long as she wants me, then I'll be there for no matter how long she wants to keep our relationship."

Mr. Hwang smiled, "Well, that's good to know."

"But you know something dad" He raised his brows, "I was just wondering, how did you know our relationship? I mean, we haven't planned on meeting you yet so..."

He chuckled, "Well, who wouldn't know you two weren't in a relationship if you weren't eating each other's faces after saying goodbye"

I could feel my face flush red. He just did not see that. He just did not-- "Oh it's not that I mind, whatever you guys did was nothing compared to what Stephanie's mother and I did"

I could feel my face flush redder at his comment while he kept laughing, "Anyhow, I love having you here Ms. Taeyeon. You surely had my daughter wrapped around your finger"

I scratched the back of my head, "N-not really Mr. Hwang, I mean, dad."

He smiled wider, "You know, I've been a bad parent to Stephanie these past few years Ms. Taeyeon. I've never been a proper father to her. I was really against your relationship because you two are of the same gender, but what right do I have to oppose her relationship? You make her so happy that I don't think I want that to vanish. And so here I am, trying to accept that my daughter prefers women over men."

I smiled slightly. At least he tried even though he didn't want to. I mean, let's face it, it's not every day you see your child date the same gender and the fact that it's not really accepted in this country, makes it more harder for them to acknowledge this kind of relationship.

"I'm really counting on you Ms. Taeyeon, to fill out all the spaces that I wasn't able to fill. Her happiness is what matters to me the most although it may not look like it."

I beamed widely at him, "Of course, I'll do my best, dad"

He nodded, "Okay. Now that's all cleared up, it's time to heighten this conversation"

I cocked a brow at him and he beamed widely, "Baby pictures!"

Mr. Hwang and I went out of the room, laughing our asses off. Those pictures he showed me were gold. And luckily Mr. Hwang gave me permission to take some pictures of it. Gosh, baby Tiffany is superbly adorable!

We were walked back towards the living room and was finally greeted by an angry Tiffany, "Oh Tiffany, sorry to keep you waiting, Ms. Taeyeon and I just had the loveliest conversation"

She had her arms crossed over chest and had that irritated look on her face, "Charming."
