It's Complicated
The Heiress[CONTENTID1]IT'S COMPLICATED - PENELOPE'S POV[/CONTENTID1]
[CONTENTID2]A/N: short chapter so next one being posted soon. Maybe. Probably. I really liked writing this one for some reason. Prepare for some feels...of the wrong kind. :3
"How serious were the injuries?"
"Not severe, thankfully. She has a few cuts and bruises on her face and body. She suffered a concussion and whiplash, so physiotherapy is advised."
"Her first exam is on Monday. Will she have recovered by then? She'll be upset if she has to miss them."
"Ice her neck several times a day for 2-3 days, then apply moist heat once the swelling has gone down. She doesn't need a neck brace. She suffered little injuries, you have a very healthy daughter. Her body should bounce back in no time."
"When will she wake up?"
"Give her another day or two."
"Thank you, doctor."
"If she's in any pain, go down to the pharmacy with this subscription."
"Thank you."
"No worries. Goodnight, Mr Park."
"Goodnight, doctor."
~
"I know it's only been, like, seven hours but I really need you to wake up now. The doctor said you might be able to hear people when they speak to you. I hope so otherwise I'll feel pretty stupid. I miss you and I love you."
~
"We all really miss you, Pen. You better wake up unless you wanna fail your exams. On the bright side, the cuts on your face are healing. They should be gone by prom so you won't have to show up looking like a troll."
~
"Hi, Penelope. I just wanted you to know as much as I hate you and your stupid little boyfriend....wait, no. That's all. This is Mrs Smith, by the way."
~
"Seriously? Seriously? It's been a whole day, wake the hell up, chica. I miss my little girl and so does Arthur. Guess what? We've decided you and Vicki are going to be our bridesmaids."
~
"I love you. I hope my voice calms you like yours did when I was in a coma."
~
"So, it's been two days. Why aren't you up yet? Our first exam is in three days. You better hurry up, . I bet you're studying in your head, huh? Either way, you're probably still gonna ace them. You've studied the most out of us. OH! Guess what? You're being awarded valedictorian."
~
"Hey, Peppa Pig. I flew back as soon as I heard. I can't believe this happened. See, this is why you should just come live with me. Not that I have one single home since I move around so much but still. You don't deserve this. I'm sorry I wasn't there to look out for you."
"Don't say that, love. She knows you love her with everything you've got. You're a good sister."
"Yeah, well you have to say that. Penny would call you whipped."
"Penny has a big mouth. But that's why we love her, huh? Wake up, little star."
"Yeah, wake up. You said you wanted to go baby shopping. Who else is gonna help me pick clothes little Elijah?"
"Don't say that! Wait till she wakes up before we tell her the of the baby."
"Who's the pregnant one here? Me. Shut your face, Dawson. I will scream out the of this child to the world if I want to."
"You're the most annoying, hardheaded, y, beautifully, perfect pregnant wife anyone could ever have."
"Flattery will get you everywhere."

My eyes fluttered open and I stared up at the ceiling, wondering where on earth I was. This certainly wasn't my bedroom. Rubbing my eyes, I looked left and right and realised I was in a hospital room. My head throbbed and I winced at a pain in my neck. I went to sit upright but something weighed me down. Sitting in a chair next to my bed with their head on my lap was Kai. In the corner of the room on a similar chair, asleep, was Sehun. Sitting next to him was Junhong.
What the hell happened? How did I get here? I couldn't remember anything traumatic other than bright lights and total blackness immediately afterwards. I came to the conclusion that something must have happened, some sort of accident. The last thing I remembered, other than the lights, was shouting at my parents and running out of the house. I was driving on the highway, someone cut me off. I was going to see Sanghee, someone...
Oh.
Taking a deep breath, I carefully slipped out from under Kai's head and got out of bed, careful not to wake any of them up. My bare feet hit the cold floor and I shivered slightly. I saw a bag on the floor and opened it, finding my slippers inside. I put them on and left the room, looking out into the hallway. It was quiet but bright, sunlight beaming through a nearby window. Everything was white and blue.
I started walking down the empty corridor, my eyes taking in the familiar decorations. I was in St Louise Private Hospital. I made out a figure at the far end of the corridor and called out. An old nurse looked in my direction and smiled, meeting me halfway.
"Are you lost, dear?" She asked. I nodded slowly. "Which room did you come from?"
"I don't know, I didn't check. I just woke up. I think I was in a car crash," I told her and she nodded, taking my hand. She lead me to the reception on that floor and pinged the bell on the counter. Naomi looked up and her eyes w
