Kai's POV

"Don't you think you're taking this whole 'dress the part' too far?" Cleo asked, looking at her best friend. Penelope stuck her tongue out at her and resumed applying her purple glossy lipstick. She wore skin-tight leather leggings, a black crop top and leather ankle boots. If you asked me, she looked ridiculously y. 

"Says you in the fire engine red pants," she snorted and Cleo rolled her eyes, flicking her long brown hair over her shoulder. We stood in an abandoned factory on the outskirts of Dallas, awaiting the arrival of the vehicles we'd ordered weeks ago. I didn't know how Daehyun and Zelo knew so many people that could get them items that were not provided to the public (like the plethora of rats) and I didn't ask. I looked to my right and then to my left. Everyone was either on their phones, chatting to one another or slouched against a wall, napping. 

"This is so risky," Lay sighed, rubbing his face tiredly. "Rats were one thing but this...I mean, we're doing this publicly. In broad daylight! Where the police can see us!"

"Not just driving vehicles that are supposed to be government owned but also vandalising the city," Luhan added and the other male groaned, slumping to the ground. "I don't even know how many laws we're gonna break."

"Oh my god, we're criminals!" Chen gasped mockingly. "Who gives a , it's for the greater good. And it's not like we're hurting anyone so it's fine."

"Doesn't help the fact that we can go to jail for this and it'll go on our permanent records," Suho reminded him. 

"Here's an idea to keep us out of trouble...don't get caught!" Baekhyun sarcastically suggested. Luhan flipped him the bird but said no more. The sound of approaching cars rang in the factory and we watched as six fire engines rolled up, parking inside the factory just several feet away from us. Six tall males came out of the vehicles and walked up to us, all of them dressed in black. I glanced at Penelope, Cleo and Suyun and scowled when I saw they were gaping at the newcomers.

"Dudes, you did it!" Zelo exclaimed in awe as he met the males halfway and man-hugged each of them. Daehyun did the same then slung an arm over one them, leaning against him. Zelo turned to us and motioned us to come closer. We did, stopping a few feet from them. "Guys, this is VIXX. They're...how do I put this? Let's just say they're a company that deals with special, individual needs. Requests, really."

"This is one of the youngest CEOs in the world at only 22, Cha Hakyeon," Daehyun revealed. The male nodded respectfully at us. "That's Taekwoon, also 22, Jaehwan, 21, Wonsik, 21, Hongbin, 20, and Hyuk, 19. They're the leaders, you could say, of VIXX. The major shareholders."  

"It's a pleasure to meet you," I heard Penelope say as she walked up to them and shook their hands. I could tell she was officially in business mode but I couldn't help the pang of jealousy in my chest. That was another thing she was good at - making partners. PetroPark was lucky to have an heir like her. Well, not right now because we'd just infested them with rats. To get rid of them, the company had had to temporarily shut down the three plants which stopped production, meaning it also cut their profits. 

"Pleasure is all ours," Wonsik grinned, kissing my girlfriend's hand. I moved forward to reprimand him but Daehyun stepped forward before I could say anything.

"Right, we've got the fire engines. Are they loaded?" He asked the leader of the group, Hakyeon. The taller make nodded.

"Six different colours, too. Spruce things up a bit," he replied, smirking. "Got the payment?" Zelo feigned offence and the two laughed. "Consider this my favour returned."

"Please, after what I did for you, I should get a million fire engines!" Zelo scoffed and they laughed again. "But seriously, thanks guys. See you later."

"You bet," Hongbin piped, patting the younger one's back. Daehyun threw them his keys and they went over to his ranger over. Penelope rushed after them and I furrowed my brows at her. She placed a gentle hand on Hakyeon's forearm and he grinned at her. It was evident he liked her already, and not platonically.

"What's she doing?" I asked the person next to me, not bothering to check who it was.

"Knowing Penny, getting his contact details," Cleo answered and I froze. She must have taken notice of my reaction and quickly clarified. "Not like that! She's making connections. Y'know, for PetroPark."
