Bad Dream
Clairvoyance
N POV~
He whimpers in his sleep as an unwanted dream clouds his mind. The last time he had made himself this sick. The last time Taekwoon had left him.
N had been struggling with his feelings for Leo for a year and couldn't take it anymore. He had wanted to tell him since the day he rescued him but something about Leo had kept him from doing it. But he just couldn't hold it in anymore.
"Taekwoon..." he looks at Leo across the table as they eat dinner in silence. They had still been living with Byoungjun and his father at that point but they had been gone for the weekend on some business trip for Byoungjun's dad. Leo looks up at him curiously and N's courage faulters.
"Nevermind..." N looks down at his food and pokes it with a fork. The strength behind Leo's gaze was unnerving.
"Hakyeon... If you have something to say, then say it. If not... Don't act like you do. It's annoying." Leo glares at him. N nods, still looking down at his plate. He was beyond nervous Leo was right.
"Taekwoon... I... I really like you..." He has trouble getting the words out at first but once he starts the words just tumbled out on their own. "More than like... Taekwoon I'm in love with you..." N flinches as Leo slams the palms of his hands on the table and stands.
"You're a guy! You're disgusting!" The look on Leo's face made N's heart freeze painfully in his chest. "I hate you! You should have just let those monsters kill me, you freak! No! You should have died instead! Whatever you do, keep me out of your sick thoughts!" He left without another word. N felt tears well up in his eyes as he gets up, taking a few steps after Leo before dropping to his knees, sobbing.
It wasn't long before the vomiting started. The next day, when Byoungjun and his father got back, they found him asleep in the bathroom floor. Every hour Leo was gone, N's condition got worse. He wouldn't eat. Byoungjun had to force him to drink. All he did was puke and sleep.
Byoungjun hadn't left his side since he had come home to see N heartbroken on the bathroom tiles. But one day he just wasn't there when N woke up. He wasn't there for a really long time. Hours. N eventually drifted off to sleep again.
The only time N had ever been this sick was after his parents had been murdered. Byoungjun's dad had called it a side effect of stress. N called it proof of his life draining out of him. The physical expulsion of his will to live.
The next time he awakens he's still alone. He makes his way toward the bathroom to puke and gets dizzy, passing out and collapsing to the floor. He smacks his head on the sink on the way down.
"...Yeon... Hakyeon..." A voice pulled him out of the darkness. He opened his eyes to see Leo's tear stained face near his. He felt moisture on his own cheeks. He must have been crying in his sleep.
"T-Taekwoon?" His voice is shaky as he wonders if he was hallucinating. Or even dead. Couldn't be dead. His head was throbbing too much.
"Hakyeon. I'm so sorry." Leo pulled him into an almost painfully tight hug. "I promise. I won't ever leave you again. I'm sorry. Please. Please be okay again. Please be happy again. I need you."
N jumps awake. His head hurts as badly as it had in his dream. The same tears stream from his eyes. And Leo is beside him again.
"You promised... You promised you wouldn't leave again..." He whispers as he covers his face with his hands. "B-but you did... A-and what if next time you don't come back?" He breaks down into heavy sobbing.
Leo POV~
"Hakyeon. I was going to come back this time too." Leo pulls N gently into his arms, rocking him as he rubs his back and his hair. "I was upset when I saw Byoungjun kiss you. I thought... I thought you might take him back... I needed to clear my head. I went to talk to my parents. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have left like that. I'm so sorry. Hakyeon... I know I don't deserve it... But please forgive me... Please..."
"I'm sorry Taekwoon... I... I didn't want to k-kiss him..." He feels N shaking in his arms as he keeps trying to calm him down, afraid that N might start throwing up again. That would be dangerous when he hadn't eaten for almost 48 hours now. "He... He kissed me and I... I shoved him away and made him leave... I'm sorry."
"I know. Hakyeon. Baby. Calm down. I know." Leo bites his lip and then tilts N's head up gently by his chin, uncovering his face. Their eyes meet and Leo smiles at him. "I'm still here, aren't I?" He leans forward and presses his lips to N's in the most loving kiss he could manage. He didn't care who saw.
"T-Taek...?" N looked confused when Leo pulled away but at least he wasn't crying anymore.
"Hakyeon..." Leo presses his forehead against N's and closes his eyes. "Eat. Drink your tea. And then let's both go to sleep okay? Together. You and I." He felt N's hands gently on the back of his neck and felt N's forehead slowly move against his in an affirmative nod.
"Only if you eat with me Taekwoon." Leo opens his eyes to see N smiling just a little. He smiles back and kisses him again, a quick, affectionate peck on the lips before he helps him out of bed and leads him to the kitchen to eat. He knew he should tell N that he loves him. That he wants to stay by his side forever. But he was afraid that after what he had told N the day he confessed... Well Leo probably didn't deserve him.
Hyuk POV~
"Just in time. Hongbin and Jaehwan ran to the store to buy some stuff for breakfast. They just got back." Hyuk grins as Leo and N come into the room. He could tell by the look on N's face that he was surprised that it was already morning.
"How are you feeling today Hakyeon?" Ken questions as he helps Hongbin pull food out of bags to set on the table.
"I think I'm done throwing up." N shrugs and sits down with Leo close behind him. "But my head hurts and I feel like I haven't slept for days."
"Take the day off okay?" Hongbin sits food down in front of N and he starts eating it as fast as a starving animal. "Wonshik and Jaehwan are really good in the cafe." Hyuk had to agree with Hongbin. They learned everything pretty quickly. N simply nods as he eats. Leo watched him nervously, patting his back occasionally. Probably worried he would choke. Hyuk was just happy to see N back to normal. Everyone at Hyde was like family to him. The fear of losing N had seriously been scary to him.
Hongbin POV~
"Oh!" Hongbin had been thinking about N's injury and something suddenly occured to him. "Taekwoon how's your shoulder." He watched as Leo glanced at N quickly and then shrugged. The fact that he didn't want to answer in front of N meant it was probably infected and hurting him. "I see." Hongbin would have to take care of it after N fell asleep. He loved his tan friend but he was not the marvelous doctor he thought he was.
"Yeah..." Leo looked back at N and put some of his food on his plate, watching as N ate even that. Hongbin could tell how worried Leo had been about N. It was actually kind of sweet, Leo's secret love for N.
"So when should we learn how to fight monsters and stuff?" Ravi questions as he spears a piece of food with the end of a chop stick, eating it.
"If we don't have any life or death missions tonight, then go ahead and train them, you two." N says when he finally finishes his last bite of food, yawning. Hongbin wouldn't mind training them. He had been dying to go exercise his powers at the training center Byoungjun's dad had built them. His psychic skills never seemed to come in handy when it came to fighting monsters. So the training facility was the only place he really had to hone his powers.
"I'm cool with that." He smiles and looks at his boyfriend. "What about you Sanghyuk?"
"Of course." Hyuk laughs a little. "I'm always down for a training session. And it'll be nice to see what these two are made of."
"I don't know about the rest of you..." Ken looks around at them. "But I'm made of human stuff." Everyone laughed except Leo. But even Leo had to smile a little.
Ravi POV~
He followed Hyuk and Ken downstairs to open the Cafe. Hongbin had stayed behind to tend to the wounds Leo had attained when rescuing Ravi and Ken from the vampires. He felt kind of bad that Leo had been injured because of him. N was already asleep when they finished breakfast. The moment Hyde opened, Soomi and her gang with an additional girl Ravi hadn't met yet came inside.
"Who's your friend?" Hyuk questions.so clearly she was even newer than Ravi was.
"Oh. This is Maia. Maia, this is Sanghyuk and I believe that y thing right there is a Wonshik." Soomi giggles as she sits on Soohyun's lap. Ravi rolled his eyes and then greeted Maia.
"Nice to meet you. Sorry you got stuck with her." He smiles as he shakes Maia's hand. "I don't know her well but I heard she lit a guy on fire once."
"Not just a guy. Me. She lit me on fire." Jaeseop announces, giving Soomi a hostile look. Soomi just ignores him and grins at Soohyun, poking his nose playfully.
"It's fine. She's pretty funny." Maia shrugs and laughs. "Besides. A little fire never hurt anyone."
"Yes it does!" Jaeseop sighs in exasperation. "It hurts a lot!" Ravi noticed Kiseop was just sulking quietly. He had probably already been turned down by Soomi today.
"Anyway." Soomi smiles at Hyuk. "Maia was the last one rescued by Taekwoon and Hakyeon. She said Hakyeon had been injured and wasn't answering her texts when she wrote him to check on him. Since he had given her my number in case of an emergency she called me. So I brought her by for a progress report."
"He's sleeping right now." Ravi smiles and bows to Maia. "He will be better in no time. I promise. Taekwoon is taking care of him."
"Good to know. I'd feel like a real jerk if he wasn't okay." Maia smiles and sits down next to Soomi to start chatting with her and Soohyun. Ravi and Hyuk officially began working.
Ken POV~
Ravi was helping him figure out how to use the coffee machine when a group of guys came inside the shop. Ken recognized them as the ones who came with Byoungjun the day before. Byoungjun wasn't with them though.
"Hey. Where's the ?" Hongbin calls over to them as he wipes off a table. For some reason, it made Ken uncomfortable to think of Hyuk cooking the food all alone. Something told him that Hyuk was not the best chef.
"He stayed home. He said Hakyeon needs some space." Daehwan sighs and Ken suddenly feels really bad for him. "He kissed Hakyeon. I know he regrets it and that he loves me but it still that he can't get rid of his emotions for Hakyeon."
"So did you break up?" Ken asks curiously, bringing coffee to their table. He wanted to cheer Daehwan up. He looked like a nice guy.
"No." Daehwan smiles sadly and shakes his head. "God help me, I'm a love struck fool. I can't bring myself to leave him. I just hope he learned his lesson this time. He was seriously freaked out."
"Everyone over her was freaked out too." Ken laughs a little and pats Daehwan's shoulder. "Hang in there. I'm sure you're his number one." He gives him a thumbs up before getting back to work. He hoped time would go by quickly so he could go.train with Ravi. He was excited. He was finally strong enough to use his powers again. Maybe now Hongbin would stop making fun of his farting when introducing his powers the first day they were at Hyde.
