Cha Hakyeon wandered into work late. He and Taekwoon had been out all night exterminating a nest of harpies. Naturally the younger had gotten up on time and left because he was ridiculous, but Hakyeon slept in an extra hour before pulling himself out of bed and stumbling downstairs to the Hyde Cafe. Because he was a normal human being that needed sleep to survive.

"Sanghyuk!" He yelled as he walked into the cafe. "Have you been depriving Hongbin in the bedroom again?!"

"We've been busy." Hyuk shrugged as he washed down a table. Taekwoon was playing the piano in a corner, ignoring them.

"Damn it, Hakyeon!" Hongbin screamed from the kitchen. "You know we hate it when you use your mind reading powers on us!"

"I wasn't!" The eldest called back defensively. "My snack display case is full of shaped cookies jammed into chocolate cupcakes! You're making it too obvious! Again!"

"Shut up!" Hongbin screeched and Hakyeon could tell he was contemplating killing him out of pure ual frustration. Shrugging, he opened the display case and took out one of the long cookies, walking over to Taekwoon.

"Yo Taek. I want your..." He held up the cookie and Taekwoon mets his eyes with his own. They held a small staring contest for a moment before the younger man took the cookie and promptly threw it out the window, going back to playing his piano. Pouting, Hakyeon silently sulked as he went to the coffee counter to start working.

"Morning, Hakyeon." A customer smiled as he entered the cafe and Hakyeon grinned, preparing a drink.

"Hey Byoungjun." He placed the cup and an impaled muffin on the counter. "The usual. With a bonus cookie, I guess. Sorry about that. Hongbin is feeling a little bottled up again."

"I've been busy!" Hyuk shouted as he went into the kitchen.

"Delicious?" Byoungjun laughed and kissed Hakyeon's cheek. "Oh. I came by with information for a job actually. Seemed right up your alley with the whole psychic thing."

"Oh do tell." He leaned over the counter in curiousity. "Oh. I should probably have the others come join the conversation. Yo es! We got some intel over here!"

"There is no intelligence when Byoungjun is involved." Taekwoon muttered as he walked over to the counter.

"Make it quick." Hongbin complained as he and Hyuk emerged from the kitchen. "I'm about to violate my boyfriend."

"What?" Hyuk looked mildy concerned for his own safety.

"Well if you do, then take a break and go upstairs and do it in your room." Hakyeon instructed. "I don't need you two breaking health codes in my cafe. You got that?"

"What?!" Hyuk had his hands up, shaking his head. "We're not going to! I swear!"

"To hell we aren't, Sanghyuk!" Hongbin glared him down and N laughed as the youngest flinched slightly from his boyfriend's anger.

"Anyway, Byoungjunnie. What is it you have to tell us?" Hakyeon turned his attention back to their guest as he reached over to play with Taekwoon's hair who tried to push his hand away but eventually gave up and allowed it.

"Well I heard that a group of vampires were keeping a bunch of psychics as a food source." Byoungjun sipped on his coffee and got a map out of his pocket. "They're supposedly held up in an abandoned warehouse outside of town. Thought you'd like to go liberate your people."

"It seems so racist when you say that, Byoungjun." Hakyeon giggled and slapped at his shoulder, giving Taekwoon a small glance to see if he was jealous. The other showed no emotion. As always.

"Anyway. I gotta run. I'll see you later. Hopefully next time my muffin won't have been assaulted." Byoungjun laughed and kissed Hakyeon's cheek again before leaving. Taekwoon hated that guy. Byoungjun had a boyfriend so why was he always so... so... Well whatever he was toward Hakyeon, he didn't like it.

Not that Taekwoon liked Hakyeon... Because he didn't. The older man was just his monster fighting partner and room mate. Unfortunate incidents had dragged them together. Nothing more. But still. If Byoungjun kept it up, Taekwoon was going to use him as monster bait.

"Okay. Sorry Binnie, but no molesting Hyukkie today. We're closing shop early to take these things out while it's still daylight and they're sleeping." Hakyeon punched in a code in the cash register and a panel slid on the wall to reveal a vault full of different types of weapons. "Remember. Dead man's blood poisons them. Cut off their heads to kill them. A wooden stake through the heart will only paralyzed them. Now let's go." They gathered their weapons, some stakes, and a few vials of dead man's blood along with some medical supplies before closing down Hyde and getting in their van.

As much as Taekwoon enjoyed playing the piano in the cafe, he had to admit that he was much more comfortable killing monsters in a dark, spooky place somewhere. After losing his family, he lived for the thrill of revenge. And saving people like him. Like Hakyeon had saved him.

"Jaehwan can you hear me?" Wonshik whispered. Jaehwan hadn't been looking good for a few days and he was starting to worry. The vampires had already killed off everyone else by gradually them dry. This man was all he had left. He'd been begging the vampires to feed on him more instead. He was stronger. He could handle it better. But they had been making Jaehwan their prime target and Wonshik was scared that it was getting to be too much for his companion.

"Yeah, Wonshik." Jaehwan sat up weakly. He looked dizzy and pale. Wonshik reached out for him but the chains around their wrists keep them from touching.

"How are you feeling?" He pulled harder at the chains and it succeeded in doing nothing more than dislocating his wrist. He cursed under his breath but tried to hide his pain from his companion.

"I'm cool. No worries." Jaehwan gave a weak laugh and laid back again. "What about you, Wonshik?"

"Better than you are." He sighed and shook his head. "Listen. Hang in there okay? Next time they come to feed I'll instigate them so they go after me instead of you."

"You can't!" Jaehwan sat up quickly and then held his head, trying to stop the room from spinning on him. "Wonshik, if you piss them off that much they'll just kill you."

"At least that would buy you some more time. Maybe you'll be rescued by then." Wonshik looked away from Jaehwan. The few months they'd been held captive together, he had grown attached to the other man. He couldn't handle the thought of him dying.

"Wonshik, no." Jaehwan looked over at his cell mate and bit his lip nervously. "Look. We both know help probably isn't coming. The only way we're getting out is on our own. And you're the only one strong enough to do that. Not me."

"Jaehwan..." He could tell that Wonshik wanted to argue with him but he wasn't going to allow it.

"Just no, Wonshik. Okay?" Ken laid back down, turning away from Wonshik to end the conversation, pretending to be asleep. He really liked him and as scared as Jaehwan was of dying, it scared him more to think of losing Wonshik. He'd rather the vampires would just kill him instead.

Hongbin was pretty upset he didn't get to sleep with Hyuk like he very desperately wanted to but saving a fellow psychic, or anybody, was a bigger priority. Unfortunately. So they drove to the abandoned warehouse as quickly as they could. It took a while to find the place so it was already almost nightfall when they arrive.

"Cutting it close." Hakyeon pouted and punched Sanghyuk, who had been driving, in the arm. "Learn to read a map."

"It'll be fun." Taekwoon shrugged as Hyuk glared at Hakyeon and rubbed the spot where he had been attacked.

"Let's just get this done." Hyuk shot their leader another angry glance as he got out his supplies.

"So that way we can get home and Hyuk can get me done." Hongbin smirked  and was met with only stares and a chorus of 'seriously this is not the time's before they infiltrated the vampire's lair.

Sanghyuk's nose wrinkled as they stepped through the door. It smelled like blood. The air inside the warehouse was stagnant and putrid. The windows had been blocked out with black paint so no light came in. He couldn't tell if the sun had fully gone down yet or not.

It was silent except for a soft clang of chains in the depths of the building. Well. Quiet until Hakyeon tripped over his own feet and fell into a few boxes, knocking them over. He cursed quietly as the hushed sound of vampires stirring from their slumber began.

"I guess get ready for a fight you guys." Hakyeon didn't sound as upset with this fact as Hyuk figured he should. "Sorry about that."

"No you are not." Hongbin sounded like he was pouting. Hyuk knew Hongbin hated doing the dirty work. Or at least that he hated getting dirty while working.

"You're right." Hakyeon laughed. "Taekwoon likes the excitement."

"I do." Taekwoon agreed, sounding overjoyed by his own standards.

"Shut up." Hyuk rolled his eyes as the sound of the vampires moving closer got louder. "They're coming."
