In the Mind of Junhong pt. 3
A Reason to Live“Zelo, Wake up!” I heard a harsh voice say.
I snapped out of my sleep and shot up to my feet. I looked at the person who had just commanded me to wake up. It's Violet's dad. My heart was racing and my palms started to get sweaty.
“Damn.” Violet said.
Her dad just looked at her and smiled.
“Yes sir?” I said nervously.
“I'm only going to ask once.” He said looking me dead on.
I gulped and waited.
“Do you think Violet tripped?”
Is he seriously asking me? Why wouldn't she tell him? I know she wants to be the one to say something but she clearly has a chance and she isn't taking it? This is my chance to let him know, I know she won't say anything about it. I glanced at her and she looked so nervous. I'm sorry violet...
“No.” I replied.
“What do you think happened?” He asked.
“I think she was pushed.” I said.
“Did you push her?”
“Of course not. I wouldn't do such a thing.”
“Of course you wouldn't Zelo.”
I looked at him weirdly. Was he being sarcastic? I hope he doesn't think I did that to his daughter.
“Do you think Alex or Eric did it?”
“Of course not. They weren't around until after she...uhh apparently fell.”
“Exactly.”
“I don't know what you are getting at sir.” I said even more nervous than before.
“The only person that was there with her was Vanessa.”
“Do you think Vanessa pushed her?” I looked at him.
“My angel? Of course not.” he laughed.
WHAT?!?! I looked over at Violet who now looked like she was going to be sick. Poor Violet. But if he thinks that she was pushed and refuses to believe that Vanessa did it then he must be out of his damn mind....
“I'm being sarcastic son.” He looked at me.
My body relaxed and I shook my head.
“I just need to know something.”
He turned to Violet this time.
“Was that the only time she ever hurt you?” He asked her.
Violet stayed silent. She wouldn't answer. Then he turned to me. I looked at her and the look in her eyes was unexplainable. I don't know what to do.
“You going to answer me?”
“I don't know. I've only seen it happen once.” I blurted out under pressure.
“You seen it happen and didn't say anything?” He looked angry.
“I didn't know you at the time.” I cringed.
“What do you mean?” He took a step towards me.
I gulped.
“I didn't meet Zelo in school dad.” Violet broke her silence.
“Zelo and I met when I went out for a walk.”
“You never go out for walks.”
“I went
