Finals were over, all there was left was graduation. You wanted to get over with everything so that you could get the 2 weeks holiday before starting college. You heard students running in the hallways. They were all in a hurry to check the results that were posted in the notice board.

“Hey, aren’t you going to check your results for finals?” Tao was standing by the door with Chen. You shook your head, “I already know my rank. Baekhyun will be first, and I’ll come after. It’s the usual. I don’t need to know my grade either.”

“Are you sure? Maybe you beat Baekhyun this time.” Chen added. “Impossible.” You chuckled. “Alright, suit yourself. See you later.” Tao left with Chen.

You closed your books and put them away. You looked out the window and the sun was shining bright, you smiled and looked at your school’s green garden.

“Hey there, top 1. Aren’t you going to check the results?”

“Baekhyun’s not in this class. He’s cla-“ You turned around, “….Baekhyun.”

He was leaning by the door with his arms crossed and had a smile on his face, “I was talking to you.”

“What?” You raised an eyebrow. “I asked if you’re not going to check the results.”

You shook your head, “Nope. It’ll be the usual rankings for us anyways. There’s nothing to be surprised about.”

He came closer to you, “Are you sure?”

You nodded, “Very sure.”

He chuckled then grabbed your hand and dragged you outside. You struggled to get free from his grip, “You know you can just tell me if you’re going to bring me somewhere!” You whined. He stopped in front a lot of students who were crowding together. You looked at him, “What are we doing here? I told you, I know our ranks already.”

“Do you?” He raised an eyebrow then let you face the notice board. You sighed and looked at the results. You read it from the bottom. “Read from the top.” He sighed.

“I can’t.”

“Why not?”

“Tall people are blocking the way. Namely, Chanyeol.” You laughed. He looked at his tall friend who was in front, “Yeol, please move your head!”

Chanyeol nodded and ducked his head. You still kept looking at Baekhyun. “What?” He asked, “Go look now.”

“I have bad eyesight from afar.”

He rolled his eyes, “No you don’t.”

“The letters are too small to be seen from here!” You whined. He rolled his eyes once again and sighed then excused some people as you two made your way through the crowd. “There.” He said as you both were in front of the crowd, “Don’t tell me you can’t see it now.”

You chuckled then looked at the results that were pinned to the notice board. You started reading from the bottom once again. He sighed and lifted your head up, making you read from the top. You stared at the results.

EXAMINATION RESULTS (FINAL SEMESTER)

RANK 1 – SHIN MINSEUL

AVERAGE: 98.7%

RANK 2 – BYUN BAEKHYUN

AVERAGE: 96.2%

You slowly walked away from the crowd, you knew Baekhyun was following you then you turned around and stared at him. He smiled, “Congrats.”

“But that’s impossible.”

“What is?”

“The rankings, the scores. Maybe the school got it mixed up.”

“No, they got it right. My teacher talked to me before I went over to you, she told me about this and I told her it was no big deal.”

You mentally slapped yourself thinking that this was just a dream, you knew yourself you couldn’t beat Baekhyun, but what was happening right now?
