Marrying Mr. Know It All // (Alternative Ending is up!)“What are you doing?” Baekhyun went over to you, who was at the study table. “Studying.” You answered without even giving one glance at him. “Can I study with you?”
“No.”
“Why noooot?” He pouted. “Study by yourself in the other side of the room.” You pointed at his table that was across yours. “We’re studying the same thing anyways. Let me study with you~” He shook your arm. “Noooo~” You whined while pulling your arm away from his grip, “Study by yourself.”
He left you alone and went over to his table, you went back to writing your notes then a few minutes later, you felt someone standing beside you. You sighed knowing who it was, “What do you want?”
He put down his books on your table. “What are you doing?!”
He looked at you and grinned, “I don’t get some of the chapters here. Mind helping me?” He gave you a small pout. “You’re top 1, shouldn’t you know everything here?” You shot him a glare. He wrapped his arms around your arm and begged, “Pleasseeeee~? Just this onceee~”
You pushed him away. “Fine, you won’t have to teach me, but when the results come out, you should be higher than me.”
“What?! That’s impossible!” You stood up from your seat. “Nothing’s impossible.” He smiled. “I’ve been trying to rank number 1 since middle school. I’ve been trying to beat you, but I just couldn’t. I gave up already. I realized there’s no way in beating you no matter how much I study.”
“You’ve been trying to beat me?”
You looked away and nodded, “I tried to. But it was impossible to outsmart you, so I decided that being second is fine. I mean, even if I got number 1, it wouldn’t matter much. No one really cares about my grades in my family. My parents are proud of me that I get such high grades, but after looking at the report cards and my ranking in school, they don’t really care. Getting high grades won’t get me anywhere I want in the future.”
“What do you mean by that? What do you mean getting high grades won’t get you anywhere you want?”
You sighed and looked at him, “What I mean is, even if I get a high grade, an average grade, or I fail, in the end, I’ll be working for the my parents’ company. I’m the only one they have to leave the company to. Aren’t you like that as well? In the end, you’re the one who’ll take over your parents’ company.”
He nodded, “Yeah, I guess. But if your grades really never mattered to them, why study so hard? Why make an effort?”
“I don’t know actually. I like reading books. I guess my love for books made me like this. I just end up seeing myself reading my school books and suddenly writ
