"I've often noticed the twisted fate of both my daughters”. The king sighed as he glanced down at his queen who was sitting beside him listening intently on what he had to say.

"Do you sense the same for Jondae, your majesty?" She inquired looking at the baby sleeping in her arms with adoration.

"I sense he will a freer path than they have had. Gaeul and Myunghee's fate was decided far beyond they were born when I set eyes on their mother." The queen’s face fell by the mention of her former friend "ever since I was young I could see flashes of the past through everyone I'd meet except her. With her I couldn't see a thing."

"And you became curious." She mumbled as he gently nodded.

"I had this thirst to know more about her so much that it was if my life depended on it. She was-" he paused meeting her eyes only to see that she too had the same expression.

“Your first love" she finished for him before looking back at their child "love doesn't exactly mean to have ual and mental desires for someone but it more of putting someone else's needs and happiness before your own. So in a sense she was mine as well. Which is why I think I became so envious of the love and care she began to put toward you."

"She loved you just as much and would've done anything for you." He scooted towards her to admire their son as well.

Sohee wiped the new tears off of her cheeks with her spare hand and laid the crown Prince down "I did anything she needed which included giving you up despite her never mentioning it, even until her last breath and days after I could barely look at you without feeling as if I betrayed her even though it's what she wanted to make me happy. What's worse though is Myunghee didn't know what exactly her mother ordered me to do. She knew she was dying she knew it would be a long and painful death. So she ordered me to poison her and I did. She ordered me to marry you and I did. I did whatever she needed me to do"

She clenched her chest to prevent herself from sobbing "if she was happy I cared about nothing in the world. When Myunghee was born I was attached immediately. I loved her as if she was my own, she liked me as well and I gave that up for the wish of my dying best friend. Myunghee hates me now!"

"She doesn't understand" the king sighed taking hold of his wife's hand in hopes of comforting her but she ripped it away.

"That precious baby girl I loved so much was miserable and I could do nothing for her for so long. She knows I killed her mom and that broke our bond."

The stream of tears seemed to be endless as she continued "which is why you must set things straight let Gaeul marry whom she chooses and tell Myunghee what really happened. Your daughters don't trust you anymore either and I can't have that. You can't keep giving the idea that you only care for Jondae and I."
