Seven Times For Life“This is fun.” Kai said. “I like it when you break the rules. It seems almost scandalous.”
Soyu laughed. She had to agree with him, she felt very rebellious and somewhat made her feel free. Soyu and Kai walked side by side, Kai leading the way to Suho’s place.
Kai looked up at the dark night sky, “The stars aren’t as bright here. It’s because of the city lights.” He said. Soyu listened in. “It’s a shame, it’s so breathtaking to see all the stars at night twinkling brightly.” Kai laughed, he looked at Soyu. “This is where the nursery rhyme should take place.”
He jazzed his fingers in the air, “Tinkle, tinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are.”
Soyu laughed, Kai stopped to laugh with her. He sighed, “I wish to see the sky filled with stars again. Maybe I can turn the whole cities power off.”
Soyu gave him a looked, “You will go to jail; the hospitals need power.”
Kai didn’t say anything, instead he looked up at the sky.
Soyu soften at Kai expression, she watched him admire the empty sky as if he could see his home planet from here.
“You’re home sick, aren’t you?” Soyu asked softly.
Kai stoped admiring the sky and face her, “Not really, I just wish I had the same view I see when I’m on EXO.”
She nodded. She listened to Kai talk more about stars, it amazes her how he knows a lot about it. Kai got interrupted when Soyu’s phone beeped indicating that she got a message. She reached in her pocket and checked the messenger.
Soyu narrowed her eyebrows, “That’s weird.”
Kai looked over to see what she was looking at, “What is it?”
“A message from L.Joe.” she said as she tried to read it.
*L. Joe? The guy she dated before?* Kai thought, he wasn’t jealous, he had nothing against L. Joe. He leaned closer to see the text out of curiosity.
“He wants to get back together.” Soyu smiled to herself.
Kai watched her smile and raised an eyebrow, “So, what are you going to do?”
Soyu shrugged, “Nothing.”
“Nothing?”
“Yeah, nothing.” Soyu smiled and put her phone back in her pocket. She continued to walk ahead.
“Why?” He raced after her, his hopes went up like a rocket, thinking maybe she has a special spot for him in her life.
“Because I don’t date the same guy twice.” She explained. Kai’s rocket of hopes crashed back down. “I mean, if we broke up that means there’s a fault in our relationship that makes one of us unhappy. Dating the same guy twice doesn’t change that there is still something wrong between us.”
Kai thought about her words. “In other words, you want a perfect relationship.”
Soyu jutted , “Mmm. Not perfect. I just want a relationship that’s happy.”
Kai was getting every detail about her, and engraved it in his mind for the future.
Soyu changed topics, “How far to go?” Kai pointed up. Her eyes travelled his finger, it landed on a building that had fifty floors.
Her eyes grew at how tall this building was and how sheik and expensive it looked. “Just inside here.”
He guided you inside the building that lead to an elegant lobby, the workers bowed as they passed by. Soyu leaned closer to Kai, “Do they know you?” she asked, since this is the first time he has been revealed to others and so that means they do not know that he is living here.
Kai shrugged and pressed the elevator button to the forty-first floor. The elevator doors closed and went up. Kai turned to Soyu, “Okay, just to tell you. I have two other housemates besides Suho. They can be a bit…” Kai made a face of unsureness. He shook his head, “Just call for me if you feel uncomfortable.”
The elevator tinged and Kai lead the way. They stopped at a door and Kai put the code in. It rang and the door opened.
Inside was very clean, neat and organised. The marbled floors were sparkling and not an item out of place. The shoes by the doorway were also neatly set out. The two walked into the living room only to see a tall figure lying on the floor in the centre of the room, his back facing them as he laid on his side hugging his knees in vulnerability.
It was Chanyeol, on the floor being the complete opposite from the way he act at school.
Kai cleared his throat, “Ignore him, he’s been like this for the past few days.”
Soyu gave Kai a questioning look. “He misses his fate partner,” Kai stated, “terribly.” She nodded understanding.
“DON’T MENTION HER!” Chanyeol cried out loud. Soyu jumped a little at the booming of his voice. Kai shook his head.
Footsteps down the hall made its way to the living room, Suho appeared looking at the commotion.
He sighed when he saw Chanyeol on the floor, “He’s been here for two hours. Hey, Soyu.” Suho smiled at her and she waved with a smile. “He flashed in here then collapsed to the floor and stayed in that position.” Suho said.
“And this isn’t his apartment.” Kai murmured to Soyu.
Suho turned to the two, “What brings the new fate partner here?”
Kai spoke first before Soyu could apologise for intruding, “She jumped out the window to be with me.” Kai said smugly.
Suho eyed them before turning away silently and walking away. Soyu looked at Kai, he s
