“Soojung~ah, i couldn’t find the list of our suppliers in my folder. Do you have it with you?” Yoona’s head magically appeared on the ajar.

“Wait, let me check..” Soojung leaves her report for awhile and shift the tab on her laptop. “Hmm.. Suppliers...... ah yes i have it! You want me to send it to you?”

Yoona quickly nods, “Yes please. I need to sort out some of them, since we’ve been working with them for years, i think we can make a good deal.”

Soojung smiles faintly as she watched Yoona disappear behind the door.

Ever since that night, she’s changed. Everything is about work now. She works 9 to 10 hours a day, though actually her work hasn’t officially started yet. They still need the official master project that will be announced on the upcoming Monday.

Soojung thought it’s better this way since Mrs. Park already told her that they will meet up soon. Yoona will get the explanation from the man himself. Hopefully it’ll clear everything up. Barely knows kyuhyun, but Soojung sure that he’s not a coward or someone who will betray Yoona easily.

...

“Sir, your appointment for 12.40 has arrived.” The secretary alerts Yesung through the intercom.

“Send her in.”

Yesterday, Ahra had promised Dayoung to go over Yesung’s place after school. Seems like Dayoung really likes kkoming. She almost didn’t want to let go kkoming yesterday.

“Hey sweety..” a smile appears on Yesung’s lips when he saw a little head peeking behind the door, meanwhile kkoming barks happily and running in a circle around Dayoung.

“Hey kkoming! How are you?” Dayoung laughs as kkoming Dayoung’s cheek. “Hihi, I miss you too!!”

“Now I feel jealous. You guys two are getting closer and leave me behind. You guys just don’t care about me.” Yesung pouts, pretending to be sulky.

Dayoung giggles, “Of course not!! I miss you too, uncle Yesung~~” she gives him a hug, which of course seemed looks uncomfortable because the height difference between two.

Yesung puffs his cheek, hands fold on his chest.

“Please don’t be mad... I’ll do anything but please don’t be mad..” Dayoung shakes Yesung’s arm while tapping her feet.

Yesung raises his eyebrow in response, “Really? You’ll do anything? Anything like…. Anything?”

Dayoung nods in a hurry, afraid that Yesung will change his mind and stay mad at her.

“Okay then. What about having lunch together? And you should treat me an ice cream!”

Without a single thought, Dayoung immediately agrees to that. Dayoung kind of likes Yesung. He is different. He’s the only adult that wants to be friends with her (well of course besides her mom and her nanny). Dayoung just want to have more friends. She also kind of miss father figure, since she rarely have a quality time with her father. She met him for a couple of times but her father always seemed busy doing a business trip all over the world and doesn’t seem like to stay around. She asked her mom once why her dad didn’t want to stay but her mother doesn’t always give her a solid answer.

“By the way, can we take kkoming with us too?” Dayoung asks, eyes full of hope.

“I’m sorry honey, but we can’t take animals to the restaurant...” seeing the sudden dark aura around Dayoung, Yesung quickly adds, “But we can have a dinner here. In my office, if you don’t mind.”

Without thinking any longer, Dayoung just quickly agree to Yesung’s idea.

“Okay then. I will ask my secretary to order our lunch~”

...

“I don’t even know why I have to do a private dinner with someone that I don’t know.” Yoona frowns as she checks herself on the mirror. It’s Friday night and Yoona have an appointment with the head of accounting department. Since they will be a partner-slash-coworker, then she should give him a good impression of her. She believes the first impression is everything.

“But there’s Mrs. Park too, right?” Soojung asks while helping Yoona chooses a pair of shoes from their closet.

“No. She just checked herself out about 3 hours ago.”

“Eh? Why—“ Soojung trails off her words as she remembers something from her conversation with Mrs. Park last Wednesday.

“I don’t know either. Wouldn’t it be awkward? I mean, i don’t even know this person, the face, why can’t we meet at the office and why is he seem like a busy person? We haven’t seen him even once. Right?” Yoona keeps blabbering without noticing the the sudden change on Soojung’s expression.

“Ah! Seems like your ride is already here!” soojung exclaims as she heard a loud honking from the ground floor. What a right timing, Soojung feels relieve. Usually Yoona will find something fishy quickly. If she stay anymore longer, she’s afraid she can’t put her poker face forever.

Yoona exhales, “Is this alright?” She asks Soojung for the final judgement, while arranging what kind of topic that she should brings out during the dinner time on her head.

“Yes unnie. You look stunning as usual. Now go. You don’t want to let him wait any longer.”

Yoona raises her eyebrow, “Him..? How do you know..”

Soojung mentally curses herself, “Ah no, I mean.. him or her. Who knows right? I mean.. just.. go.. You’re already late!” Soojung pushes Yoona’s body out from their apartment and immediately close the door behind her.

…

“I’m sorry that we’re late. I’m dealing with client and having an emergency meeting earlier.” Yesung carefully put Dayoung on Ahra’s embrace, not wanting the little girl to wake up.

“Thank you for taking a good care of her. I shouldn’t have bothered you. I mean, you are also busy—“

Yesung shakes his head, “Nah, it’s okay. I’m having a great time with her anyway. I just feel sorry because I couldn’t keep her company.”

Ahra shrugs, “If you say so. Now, we should go home. I will see you later. And once again, thank you.”

Yesung nods, he bends his body to put a light kiss on Dayoung’s forehead and then carefully close the door that parted their way.

He’s waving to the car, regardless Ahra notice it or not. He doesn’t immediately leave. He’s just standing there, amongst the cold of night’s air, watching the car slowly drifting away and disappears from his sight. He then let out a heavy sigh.

Dayoung, she’s a nice little girl. She’s always the curious one, asking about anything that draws her attention.

“Should I call you ahjussi or oppa?” she asked between their lunch.

Yesung gave it a thought for awhile, “Just call me Yesung is fine.”

Dayoung furrowed, “How can I call you just by your name? You are older than me.”

“Says who? We’re friends, right? You said you want to be friends with me!” yesung exclaimed, he pretended to be disappointed.

Dayoung grinned, “I like that thought. Okay then, Yesung.” She put her hands up, asking her ‘new friends’ to do a high five.

…

Yoona just got arrived to the restaurant that Mrs. Park told her earlier.

“How many people, ma’am?” the front line guy asks her politely.

Yoona haven’t been into a fancy restaurant like this. From the way it looks, seems like the place is pretty expensive. “Uh, I already have an appointment with someone beforehand.”

“What is your name, miss?”

“Yoona. Im Yoona.” Yoona replies. At the same time, the man typing something into the computer beside him.

“Okay, this way.” The man shows her the way and Yoona follows him behind.

The partner that supposed to meet her haven’t arrived yet so Yoona decided to go to the rest room first to fix her makeup. When she was sure that everything is perfect, she returns to her seat.

From a far, she can see that her partner has arrived. Yoona has practiced everything earlier. How to introduce herself politely and what kind of topic that they should talk about, such as the progress that she already worked on, introducing him the initial master project—

Yoona’s mind immediately goes blank when she’s finally having a face to face with her soon to be co-worker.

“Hai, it’s been awhile..”

Yoona’s left out for words. She just too shock to say something. Is there such thing as coincidence like this? Kyuhyun is her partner? But why does he look so calm like he knows everything already?

“I’m sorry. You must be surprised. I can explain..”

Yoona takes a step back when Kyuhyun abruptly stands up from his seat. Kyuhyun furrows to that reaction, “Hey? What’s wrong? It’s me. Kyuhyun?”

Yoona looks away. Every emotion that she’s trying to bury all of a sudden bursting up uncontrollably. When yoona already decided to break her promise, decided to not waiting for him anymore, kyuhyun is right there. Standing in front of her. She thought for a while that he’s unreal but he is real. She can smell his familiar scent, and his voice—

“I—“ Yoona pauses, not sure about what she’s trying to say,  “.. since I already know you, then there’s no need for us to do the introduction and such. Right? I can’t— I..”

“Yoona, what’s wrong?” kyuhyun asks, worry’s written all over his face. “Look at me. Hey, look at me.” Kyuhyun carefully reaching out to her face and averts her attention to him.

 “I can’t kyuhyun.. I can’t..” Yoona whispers in despair, that’s all what it takes for Kyuhyun to wrap her upon his embrace.
