Author’s POV:

You and Kris went straight towards the hospital. This wasn’t what Kris and Kai had planned, not at all. They both came out with this really lame excuse to stop You. Nevertheless, even though the bad situation, Kris was able to prevent you from going on the date with U-kwon.

“What actually happened?!” You finally spoke.

“I have no idea! Sehun just called all scared and panicking. I could barely understand him over his cries and when I calmed him down he just said that Chanyeol was at the hospital. I didn’t even had the chance to ask anything more. He hung up right after.” Kris answered, worried.

“Oh my god! Poor Chanyeol! Please let it be nothing that bad!” You blurted. Even though you were not best friends, you couldn’t help but to care for him. After all Chanyeol was always really kind to you since the beginning. Besides Baekhyun and, of course, Kai, who's actually kind of nice when on the phone, at this point, everyone was really nice and friendly towards you. You liked them all, and recently, you started talking more with Sehun and Tao. Both of them, as well as Chanyeol, Xiumin and Luhan, were what you considered as ‘really good friends, almost best friends’. Kris, however, already had the tittle of ‘family’, considering that time he helped you, you just couldn’t help but to trust him. And after all, even though the short time, Kris and Charlotte are the only people who are close to you, the only ‘family’ you have left. Soon, you arrived at the hospital, meeting with Sehun, who had also just reach the place and was currently asking information to the secretary. His eyes were red and puffy. His face was all wet and he couldn’t help but hiccup when talking. When turning around, his face pale and tears started running down. His shaking figure started walking towards You and Kris.

“Hyung” His shaky voice cracked as he ‘greeted’ both of you. Kris quickly held onto the pale and sweaty Sehun, afraid that this one would pass out. “Sixth Floor” He said weekly and you immediately went to hold the elevator before he could leave. When reaching the sixth floor, you all go inside the waiting room, both you and Kris helping Sehun, who was still crying and didn’t seem to calm down. Right after entering the room, you spotted Chen, Baekhyun and D.O. The 3 boys were hanging out when Sehun told them about the accident. They were close to the hospital and didn’t took time and just ran right away towards the hospital. Their heads raise simultaneously, in need to see who just entered the room. They’ve been walking around the place, impatience taking over.

“Sehun!” D.O calls.

“What Happen?!” Baekhyun said.

“Baekhyun hold on! He’s about to faint!” Chen noticed. “Sehun, how are you feeling? Can you hear us?!” He continued, reaching the boy’s face.

“Let’s sit him down” You suggested.

“I’ll go get some water” Baekhyun quickly informed as the rest helped the young boy take a sit. “Here” He comeback a few seconds later. Sehun gulped down the water and tried to calm down a bit.

“It’s okay! He’s going to be okay!” Kris said rubbing Sehun’s shoulders, trying to comfort him somehow.

“Hyun” He, once again, cried in pain. “I-It’s bad! H-He He got ran over!” He sobbed. “A-And I-I saw everything!” He choked and slumped down, knees slamming against the floor as his hands reach his face. “I-I should’ve stop him! But I did nothing!” D.O reached for Sehun, bringing him back to his seat in a thigh hug, trying to comfort the best possible.

“You can’t blame yourself Sehun! There was nothing you could do! You didn’t know what was going to happen!” Chen’s voice run through the room.

“B-but Hyung!” His voice coming from D.O’s neck, where he was sobbing.

“Chen’s right Sehun! You did everything you could!” Kris spoke.

“Don’t you dare feeling guilty and blaming yourself for something you had no control over! You know Chanyeol will hit you if he even dreams about this!” Baekhyun said angrily.

“Chanyeol’s strong! He’ll be okay!” You said, taking a seat near Chen, who was beside Sehun, just like D.O. Sehun started slowly recovering from his breakdown, however, Baekhyun doesn’t even try to hide his frown when he remembered your existence.

“I’m sure he’s okay!” You mumbled, more to yourself, trying to convince your mind that nothing bad will happen. That’s when Baekhyun had enough.

“Tks, like you even know anything!” Baekhyun scoffed, messing his hair, annoyed. “I don’t even get why you’re here in the first place! It’s not like you guys are friends!” He continued, glaring at you. You frown, glaring back.

“He’s actually my friend!” You said sternly, making sure he got what you said. “A really good one actually! And I care about him!”

“Don’t tell me! You’re both dating?!” He said sarcastically.

“Baekhyun!” D.O’s voice echoed through the small waiting room. “Stop that!” He continued, his voice low. “This is not the time nor the place!”

“I just hate it when a ing smartass thinks she knows everything!” You were about to reply when Chen interrupted her.

“Dude, you really shouldn’t take Kai’s judgement as your owns!”

“Guys!” Kris warned, trying to end the conversation.

“I’ve already made my judgement about her and I can confirm you that she-“

“Park Chanyeol!” A voice was heard and all the six heads turned towards it. “Who’s here for Park Chanyeol?” The six of you answered at the same time, startling him. “He’s recovering now! We did a little incision on his leg, nothing that big. The surgery went good and we think there won’t be any problems in the future. He, however, still needs to recuperate.” He informed, looking a bit awkward with the room’s atmosphere. “Later on I’ll explain the plan of recovery. For now you have to wait until the visiting hour starts. Once it starts I'll take you to his room and you can see him.” And with that, he left. A weight is lifted of everyone’s shoulders and you all let out a sigh of relief.

“Thank god it’s only his legs.” Kris commented.

“Thank god?!” Sehun panics. “I don’t think he’s going to think like that! What if he can’t play Basketball?! Like ever!” Sehun notes.

“He plays Basketball?” Your surprised voice fills the room, a worried expression creeping onto your face.

“Good friends huh?!” Baekhyun growls, still annoyed.

“Yeah, we’re both on the Basketball team” Sehun replies, ignoring Baekhyun y mood. “It’s like a big thing for him! I hope he can recover well!” He prays.

“Our Chanyeol is strong! I’m sure that he’ll be winning all the games in a few weeks. Just needs to rest a little.” Kris spoke, getting up from his seat, moving a little around the room.

“Sehun, did you told his parents?” You asked, suddenly remembering.

“Y-Yeah” His voice crack, remembering the horrible phone call. “They were on their way.” He continued.

“I’ll call them now. They probably freak out when you call them and might be rushing without that being needed.” Chen said.

“Yeah, they might be panicking.” D.O. said. Just as Chen was leaving the room to make the phone call, a panting Kai entered the room. Luhan, Lay and Xiumin arrived seconds later, all of them concerned. After a few minutes talking, the doctor came back, showing the room where Chanyeol was in. Since only 3 people could be inside, we did turns. Sehun, Baekhyun and Kris went inside first. The rest just stayed in front of the door. We could hear Sehun’s cries and Chanyeol’s raspy voice nagging at the younger boy. After 10 minutes outside, Kai decided that he had enough of waiting and went inside. Chen, D.O. Xiumin, Lay and Luhan exchanged glances, surprised at Kai’s actions, but didn’t think twice and followed behind him. Confused, you look around to see no one on the hallway and quickly went inside.

“Guys seriously, I think you’re going to be kicked out if someone notices!” Chanyeol had this cheeky grin when you enter the room. “Violet! You’re here!” He cheered, noticing you right away. You cheeks turn pink at his sudden outburst, making him and some of the guys chuckle. “Come here!” He made a signal with his hand. The guys made room for you and you shyly walked towards the goofy man. He gave you a tight hug, thanking you for being there and for caring about him. You could feel eyes burning on the back of your head. Leaving Chanyeol’s side so that the other guys could have their turn you only caught Baekhyun’s irritated face and Kai’s stare. The last one bothered by Chanyeol’s ignorance towards him, left the room, slamming the door shut. All heads turn to see Baekhyun leaving the room as well. You looked clueless, you did nothing wrong so why the hard stares?

“You could’ve acknowledge him Chan!” Luhan nagged, referring to Kai. “If he didn’t care, he wouldn’t show up.”

“I don’t need his empathy” Chanyeol replied coldly, ending the conversation right there. We stayed in this awkward silence until Lay decided to break the atmosphere. You took the opportunity and quickly sent a text.

[Violet]: You okay?

Regretting right away. *Why do I even care* your mind charged. Sighing, you changed your attention to the talk. A few minutes later Suho and Tao walked inside the room. They all started joking around at this point, lighting up the mood. Soon his parents arrived. You and the guys left the room, giving the family some privacy. You and Kris started walking back home, half way through you mentioned.

“I still can’t understand why they walk out. Especially angry at me! I did nothing.”

“I honestly don’t know what’s up with Baekhyun” He sighed, ruffling his hair. “When it comes to Kai, just like Luhan said, I think he wanted attention from Chanyeol. They haven’t been on such good terms and I think he wanted to show Chanyeol that he still cares about him. I guess he lost his temper when he went inside and Chanyeol didn’t even spare a glance at him. Only to call you right away.” He continued.

“Still… I have nothing to do with their conflicts.” You commented.

“I know. We just need to be patience, which is something Chanyeol is lacking right now. I just hope that someday Kai will tell us what’s going on and we can all just chill.”

“So, he’s hiding something?” He caught your attention.

“We all think so. We know nothing about his past. Only Taemin and Charlotte know him completely and he acts totally different when around them. When he’s around us, it’s like he always has to prof something or control everything. Then there’s the injures part and he always has a different excuse for that! It even amazes me how he can come up with so much bull.” He sounded frustrated. “And then it’s the girls, he just likes to use them but if someone ever tries to treat Charlotte the same way he treats other girls, oh boy! I just wish he’ll tell us so we can solve everything before we all fall apart.” You just listen to him as he kind of unburdened.

“I hope everything gets better.” You replied.

“Hey! Ahm…” He rubbed the back of his neck. “Since you’re available tonight, how about we grab some dinner?” He continued. “I mean, there’s nothing cooked at home so…” He quickly add.

“Sure! I’m starving!” You replied patting your stomach.

“Let’s go then!” He smiled, reaching for your wrist, dragging you inside the nearest restaurant. As he went to order the food, your phone buzzed.

[Moody ]: I love it when you worry about me ;) Your Kai is perfect, as always!

You rolled your eyes, slightly annoyed.

[Violet]: Like you don’t worry about me! Now that I think about it, maybe you’re a stalker who gets me in trouble on porpuse just to show off. Creep!

You smirk at the reply, although it would probably be better if you just ignored.

[Moody ]: , you’ve got me! Now if you excuse me, I have things to do. Oh and don’t worry honey, I couldn’t be better right now. ;)

*Urhg, I hate this guy!* your mind complained.

“Who’s the moody ?” Kris sounded amused.
