Luhan : First Meeting
EXO Drabbles
"Hey," he blurted, staring at the ground.
"H-hey..." I mumbled back in reply, taken aback from his sudden attempt at conversation.
"I-I don't think I've seen you before."
"I don't think so either." I replied, my voice wobbly as I fiddled with the bracelet I was wearing.
Silence ensued, for a couple of moments, as the air around us seemed to grow thick. The tension rose as the both of us fidgeted and struggled with something to say.
"Erm, I–"
"I'm–"
We had both tried to salvage the conversation at the same time, only to stop abruptly and remain quiet once again. His lips curved slightly, into a lopsided grin as he met my eyes for the first time. He cleared his throat, breaking the awkward silence.
"I'm Luhan, and you are?"
"Mihyun." I replied, however my voice was just barely above a whisper.
"Sorry?" he leaned in slightly, eyes concerned and curious.
"Mi-mihyun! I'm Jung Mihyun," I repeated louder as my grip on the silver chain tightened.
"Oh, that's a pretty name." his gaze travelled to my wrist, where I was gripping onto my bracelet for dear life.
"Erm... That's a nice bracelet you've got there." he murmured, touching the back of his neck with a nervous smile. Our eyes met again, longer this time, and I couldn't help but stare at his soulful, chocolate brown irises.
"Thanks..."
I looked down at the delicate charms on the chunky silver chain, my fingers still fiddling. When I felt the familiar shape of a particular charm, I stopped, relieved by the way the cool metal felt.
"Is that a mic?" his eyes widened with curiosity. "The charm."
"Yeah. Why?" my own eyes started to widen.
"Do you like singing then?" he prodded, a silly grin starting to form on his face.
I nodded, feeling my throat tighten and my voice starting to disappear.
"I do too!" he exclaimed suddenly, his eyes sparkling. Suddenly embarrassed, he added, "E-erm, I mean... I like singing too."
Colour rose to his cheeks and I let a small chuckle escape my lips before I could stop it.
"Don't laugh!" he complained, heat rising to the tip of his ears.
"Sorry! It was cute..."
"What?"
"I-I mean..." this time my cheeks reddened as he chuckled.
"Do you want to go singing together sometime...?" he offered, flashing me another rather charming smile as he scratched the back of his neck again.
"O-okay."
He dug his pockets, before finally pulling out a crumpled strip of paper and a pen. He scribbled hurriedly, before holding it out to me.
"C-call me," he mumbled hastily, before scampering away with an excuse.
