"Eighty-eight..."
" Eighty-nine..."
"Ninety." he finished flatly.
I flopped down on the mat very unceremoniously, barely getting enough oxygen, but still attempting to speak anyway.
"I.. finally.. did... it!" I gasped between breaths of air.
The person holding onto my feet however, was being oddly quiet. Neither was he flashing his usual cheeky smile.
"Congrats."
"Are you alright?"
"I'm fine," he replied, his tone different from his usual one. Less quirky.
I frowned. "I'm sure you are."
I shot him a look, unsurprisingly, he returned it with another.
"How about spending more time with me instead of doing all these stupid sit ups?" he said with a hurried breath, sticking his bottom lip out in a pout.
"But I am spending time with you, right now, aren't I?" I sat up, crossing my legs.
He remained silent, knowing that I had made a point.
"Fine. Be that way." he muttered, crossing his arms as he turned away with a huff.
"Jongdae, don't be like this." I wrapped my arms around his waist, resting my head on his back. "Please?"
With reluctance, he turned around, gently releasing my hold on his sides. He leant forwards, pressing our foreheads together. I could feel his sweet, warm breath on my cheeks as my own hitched in my throat.
"You can breathe, y'know." he broke the comfortable silence with a smirk.
Undoubtedly, my cheeks reddened. With one swift movement, he closed the distance between us, warmth spreading onto my lips.
