Finding Laughter
In the Rain, Stars Align"You sound like a fun person, you're always smiling. Unless you have a dark and creepy side I don't know about."
Creepy? Nah.
Dark?
By day, I am a zombie, staring helplessly in English class, eyes threatening to glaze over.
When I'm released from confines at 3 PM I am alive, stuttering as I struggle to answer my tutor's question before lighting up, letting the quirky side of me take the torch and light up the air for the brief moment.
Fun?
I'm fun when I am not a cowering animal in the corner, tail between my legs.
In a space where I am not worried if I reach the top,
Because once I hit that nail on the hend,
Everything lights up.
Happy?
HAPPY is when I let myself be me,
When I am surrounded by people who let ME be ME and not anything else.
It doesn't matter how STUPID or CRAZY ME is,
Just let ME explore until I find, I GRASP what I have been looking for.
Dark?
The gooey feeling that threatens to choke me
Whenever someone shoots me a glare
The look of "Why are you wasting my time?"
"What kind of worth are you?"
STOP.
Why don't you let me pretend for one moment you are not questioning my existence,
Why don't you let me show you something without the FEAR of you turning away-
And maybe I finally can produce what you've been looking for.
