Lost
In the Rain, Stars AlignWrapped in Ice
An unseen Jack Frost has stolen my heart once more
Even as the sun finds my face
I am missing
My life sings like an acapella song
Full of soul, yet hollow
I scan through my notes that I wrote when my heart bled
But instead of finding a panacea, a diagnosis
Faces leave spots in my vision
Some familiar, some forgotten
Instead of finding my answer
I find paths that I had left
An endless string of crossroads
It's not about the path least taken
It's the path that will dry my unshed tears
The one that will hold me even when I've lost hope
When I've lost inspiration
It does not need to be an easy way
But it's one that will not let me turn back
As I stand here in endless contemplation
I shiver, rubbing my joints in an attempt to get blood flowing
The clouds are covering the light
Why does it feel like the world is coming to a close?
Perhaps it's because I thought I found my guide
My Gandalf, My Sacagawea
To realize my hand wasn't being held
That I had followed a mirage into a winter storm
I know I will make my way out
As long as the flame of my desire burns on
But the question is
When will I find my way?
