Before you go
In the Rain, Stars Align
Before you pull the trigger, think of the people who will cry,
Who will look at your picture, shake their heads and ask “why”?
The friends who will wave their fists at the sky,
Then kneel down to the ground where you will lie.
Before you tie the knot, think about what you leave behind,
Your silent followers who will now be blind,
Holes with missing pieces they will never find,
All the people who knew you were one of a kind.
Before you step off the edge, think about the people that cared,
Who always think with fondness of the memories you shared,
People who ran to you and clung when they were scared,
The ones believed and would never dream you dared.
Before you swallow, think about what you throw away,
Those dreams you followed faithfully day by day,
All the things you have accomplished up to today,
The stories you have read and the favorite games you play.
If you still feel so numb, then rest awhile,
You don't have to feel like you ran for a mile,
That you're constantly held on dial,
And perhaps you'll find that life is worthwhile.
