Chapter 44

Forever

Author’s POV:

Jessica's Pregnancy Calendar — Week 5

“You have to get a copy of that ultrasound for me!!” Krystal shouted as her older sister walked out of the house.

“There’s only one picture, Soojung. You can always come by to look at it.” Jessica cupped her sister’s face.

Krystal frowned. “But I want my own ultrasound picture of my niece or nephew!”

Jessica only grinned at her. “I’m sure you’ll get tons of picture when the baby comes out. We all know that you’ll take a truck ton of pictures with your phone.”

The baby Jung immediately held a guilty, knowing face. “You know me so well.”

“I’m your sister. I’m supposed to.” Jessica placed a sisterly kiss on Krystal’s cheek and gave her a light hug. “We’re going now. Come over and visit when you want.” She grinned when the girl nodded her head.

“Yifan, you have to be careful. You can’t just do whatever you feel like doing anymore. A pregnant woman is always queen and you’re her peasant, okay? Always follow orders. Being pregnant is hard.” Father Wu spoke, walking his son out the door. “You are no longer equals with your wife. She’s the queen bee, that is, until she gives birth. But the bottom line, treat her like a queen. It all pays off and she’ll be thankful.”

Kris only gaped at his father. “That’s all you had to say. Thanks for that super long explanation that I barely even understood. I sometimes question how you’re a businessman, dad. You need to work on your wording and concise way of speaking.”

“Hey, having a pregnant wife is a big deal. I remember when your mom was carrying you in her stomach–”

“Yes, I know. You already told me. That was the time you started losing hair because of mom’s excessive influx of hormonal rages that led to hair pulling.” Kris finished his father’s sentence.

Father Wu patted his son’s back. “Let’s hope your wife doesn’t do that. I will pray for you.”

“Remember to call us mothers if you two have any questions or concerns! Especially you, Sooyeon! We’ll always be there to help.” Mommy Jung smiled, hugging onto her daughter.

Mommy Wu sighed in contentment. “I’m so glad you guys stopped using protection.”

Kris only gawked wide-eyed at his mother. “Mom…what…” he was at a loss for words.

“What?” Mommy Wu only gave him a casual shrug. “You were having problems with protection, weren’t you? Plus, I’m not getting any younger and I wanted a grandkid already! You can’t blame me. I still want my grandbaby to see me when I’m still in my prime.”

Kris scrunched up his face. “Yeah…mom, that’s not going to happen. You’ve definitely passed your prime.”

His mother gasped and smacked him in the arm. “Yifan!”

“Dinner is at six.” Kris read Kai’s reminder text out loud. “Fine dining.” He raised his eyebrows with an impressed look.

“Really?” Jessica perked up, munching on her bag of chips, which seem to be her latest cravings.

Kris nodded, “Yeah, I just looked up the restaurant after Jongin sent me the address.” His phone pinged twice, one after the other repetitively. Suddenly his phone kept going off with his text tone.

“Jongin must be nervous.” Jessica already knew that Kai was texting her husband nonstop even if she didn’t look at the phone to know whom the recipient was.

“I know, he’s freaking out about the little things again…” Kris switched his phone on silent. “We should start getting ready.” He stole a chip from her. “I heard parking is a bummer there.”

After returning from their visit to the parents’ home, the two decided to rest a bit before heading down to dinner, more for the sake of Jessica. She needed to be comfortable and within a short distance from the bathroom anyways. In actuality, Kris wanted to leave because his mother kept suspecting about how he kept malfunctioning and failing to make a child until now. It was quite embarrassing actually.

Coming out of the quick shower, it was surprising to know that they didn’t take as long as they normally would. Jessica grinned at the thought and knew that Kris was actually behaving today.

“Fine dining…” Jessica mumbled to herself, scanning her side of the closet for a dress to wear.

While his wife was having difficulty choosing what to wear, Kris seemed almost automatic, as he was already dressed. The perks of being male; there isn’t such a gigantic variety in clothing.

Kris was in the midst of buttoning up his dress shirt when he looked up and found a little exhibition going on. He stopped what he was doing and ended up staring at his wife who in the midst of checking out her body in front of the full length mirror with nothing but undergarments on.

Jessica tilted her head, looking curiously at her body through the reflection. Her fingers twiddled as she turned and examined her side body profile. Turning and twisting, Jessica finally stood still before she placed her hands on her stomach. Her eyes softened and she kept her sights on her tummy. It was mind-blowing to her. She’s five weeks pregnant, yet she doesn’t seem to be. It is still early in the pregnancy, but Jessica wanted to keep a week-to-week track of her body.

Coming up behind her, Kris gently wrapped his arms around her. He significantly placed his warm hands on her flat tummy, caressing it. “What are you thinking about?” he asked softly, looking at her through the mirror.

“…I just can’t believe that there’s a little blip in here. Another little life in me.” Jessica voiced out, still overjoyed by the fact that she’s going to be a mother.

“Well believe it, because we’re going to be parents. Amazing ones.” Kris smiled.

Looking up, Jessica only grinned as she stared at the mirror. They were going to be a family. It isn’t going to be just her and Kris anymore. Parents; that’s what they’re going to be. Amazing ones, as Kris had said. Meeting Kris’ eyes, Jessica’s eyes automatically twinkled. She just couldn’t help but think about how much she loved the man that is standing right here with her. It fulfilled her heart to know that he loved her just as much.

Jessica turned her head back and smiled at her husband. Kris only kept their eyes locked together and gave her a loving kiss on her lips.

Arriving at the restaurant, Kris escorted Jessica carefully while they awed over the sun that was setting near the peak of the horizon. No wonder Tiffany loved this restaurant. The ocean was right in front and offered an untouched landscape, something to awe at.

“It’s so pretty~” Jessica spoke with admiration. “We should go down there.” She wanted to take a stroll down on the white-sanded beach.

“Maybe after the dinner, if it’s not too cold.” Kris suggested. “I don’t want you getting sick, especially with our little one.” He wrapped his arms around her to guide her towards the entrance of the restaurant.

Jessica cooed once they stepped inside. It was toasty warm with a romantic, dim feeling to it. It was definitely fine dining. Jessica smiled as she took in the place. Her fingers intertwined with Kris’, as they were escorted towards the section that Kai had reserved. Kris and Jessica gave a small bow towards the waiter before being shouted for.

“Noona! Hyung!” Tao waved his hands excitedly, calling them over.

“You guys are here!” Kai perked up, happily ushering them to sit beside him and Tiffany. A tense, stiff look was present on his face and Kris immediately knew that he was panicking on the inside.

“Hey guys~” Jessica grinned, taking a seat closest to Tiffany.

“I’m surprised you two are on time.” Tiffany pretended to gasp, as Jessica gave her a questioning look. “You two have become notorious for being late, especially you.” She pointed at Jessica. “Don’t think I haven’t noticed the days you’ve been walking into the office looking disheveled.”

“OOH~~” Baekhyun’s high-pitched voice emitted through as he walked in with Taeyeon following right after him. “I have no idea what you guys are talking about, but it sounds like gossip, so…” he explained his weird entrance.

“What gossip?” Sehun asked curiously, appearing as well with Luhan.

Baekhyun only shrugged and took a seat beside Taeyeon. “I don’t know.”

Luhan only scowled at the boy. “I bet you know, but you’re just unwilling to tell us. Poop face.” He scooted himself near Kris, only to have Sehun push him away so he could sit there instead.

“Correction,” Baekhyun held a hand up. “Fabulous face.” He gestured to his delicate facial features.

“Tae-tae noona, how do you deal with him?” Sehun questioned, asking the query that everyone always thinks.

Taeyeon shrugged and shook her head. “I don’t even know anymore. I’m getting too old to keep up with him and his active ways.” She sighed. “Bacon can’t keep his mouth shut for at least five minutes.”

“But you still love me~ Tae-tae~~!” Baekhyun blinked cutely at his girlfriend. “Because I’m yours~” he giggled by himself.

“I give you props.” Luhan nodded his head towards Taeyeon. “You two have been dating even before Kris and Jessica. It’s a miracle that you still stick by Baek.”

“I don’t blame her though. Who would want to marry Baekhyun-hyung?” Tao joined in. “He’s so annoying.” He groaned, already agitated with the said guy sitting next to him.

Baekhyun gasped dramatically. “EXCUSE YOU. Look who’s talking!”

Tao’s eyes widened. “Wha–”

“Talk to the left, because you ain’t right.” Baekhyun held up his left hand, to block Tao’s face.

Tao slapped his hand away and stuck his tongue out at him. “Sore butthole.”

“Hey guys!!” Suho appeared with his usual disarming smile.

“Speaking of a sore butthole.” Baekhyun made the whole table break out laughing.

“That’s a good one!” Kai nodded his head, forgetting his nervousness.

Kris snickered, “What a timing.”

Suho looked lost and blinked around, not knowing what was going on. “Guys…” he stayed quiet as the rest of them kept giggling and talking amongst themselves. “Fine, I guess.” He sighed and took a seat, letting them continue to ignore him.

“I have to use the restroom.” Jessica excused herself and handed her small shoulder bag for Kris to hold. Kris gave her a reassuring smile, telling her to be careful on her way.

“I’ll come with!” Taeyeon popped up from her seat, wanting to get away from the bickering boys that surrounded her.

“Me too~” Tiffany strode over.

Jessica’s eyebrows rose and she blinked. “Okay.” She didn’t expect a posse to go to the bathroom with her.

“Lulu, why can’t we go to the bathroom as a group like them?” Sehun questioned, as the noonas walked off. “It seems more fun. We could all pee together and it wouldn’t be so lonely.”

Luhan gave Sehun a concerned look. “Hunnie…” he sighed, as the maknae gave him an innocent look. “We’re just…special.” He gave a mock smile and made something up.

“What makes us so special that we can’t pee together? It doesn’t seem special. I like peeing next to you, Lulu.” Sehun blinked, revealing his thoughts.

Everyone at the table gave weird stares at Luhan and Sehun, all of them thinking the same thing; what has Luhan done to Sehun?

Entering the stall, Jessica went to do her business. Apparently she was the only one who really needed to use the restroom. Taeyeon and Tiffany remained in front of the sink. All three were conversing in a natural manner.

“Baek just won’t shut up today.” Taeyeon revealed the reason why she decided to escape to the restroom. “I think he’s too excited to see everyone again today.”

“He’s super sassy today.” Jessica laughed. “The better epitome of diva than Luhan could ever be.” She spoke before the toilet flushed, as she was finished releasing her bladder.

“Yeah, at least he’s speaking a lot today.” Tiffany sighed in exasperation, clearly having something on her mind.

Taeyeon crooked her head. “Why? What happened between you and Jongin?” she sensed the turmoil.

“Did something come up?” Jessica asked, washing her hands thoroughly.

Tiffany’s shoulders slumped. “Jongin hasn’t been himself lately. He woke up this morning barely speaking to me. Something is up, but I don’t know what it is. He’s been really suspicious lately.”

Jessica glanced up in the mirror and eyed Tiffany. Keeping shut about any secret, Jessica only pretended to not know anything about the proposal that was to come soon.

“Really?” Taeyeon asked in full attention. “But you’re so good at catching onto things!”

Tiffany slumped against the sink counter. “I know, which is why I’m really upset over this. I have no clue what he’s up to. We both know each other so well. It scares me to think that he’s hiding something behind my back. We always tell each other everything.” She frowned, looking up at her two friends for some consolation.

“I thought Kris helped solve this insecurity last time.” Jessica wiped her hands and tried to seem oblivious to the situation.

“Well, he did…only for the time being. Jongin is being extra quiet and cautious around me. It’s really awkward between us. It’s just not the same anymore.” Tiffany felt dejected. “It feels like our relationship is coming to an end.” She feared to say those words.

“Whoa~” Taeyeon’s eyes widened in shock. Her relationship with Baekhyun may seem chaotic and messy, but it wasn’t till the point where they’re breaking ties. “Fany, listen. I don’t know what he’s up to, but maybe he’s just feeling off these days. Baekie has those days too and becomes a complete silent mute. Sure, it’s weird and amazing to have some peace, but he’s only like that because he’s having a hard time with something. Maybe Jongin is feeling the same way. Is there something bothering him?” the elder of the three offered some advice.

“Not that I know of. Like I said, we haven’t been talking much.” Tiffany sighed in defeat. “I don’t know what to do. I tried to talk to him, but he seems so unresponsive.”

Jessica put a hand on her shoulder. “It’s okay, Fany. He seems to be more talkative tonight. Maybe this is what he needs. A relaxed, happy time with all of us friends together. I’m sure he’ll come through.”

Taeyeon nodded her head. “Stress can really overtake someone’s emotion. It’ll get better, Fany.”

Tiffany peeked a smile. “Yeah, I hope so.” She found more motivation. “Thanks guys.”

The two only gave her a reassuring nod and cheered each other up. While in the midst of checking their reflections one last time, Tiffany took notice of Jessica’s choice of outfit for the night.

“Sica, your dress looks really pretty.” Tiffany glanced at Jessica’s dress and awed.

“Right? I’ve been eying it ever since she stepped out from the stall.” Taeyeon laughed, also finding the dress pretty.

“Thanks.” Jessica grinned, tracing her hands over her flowing floral dress. Her hands cautiously brushed over the belt she wore, adjusting it lightly and not wanting to put too much pressure on her tummy. She didn’t want little blip to suffocate.

Taeyeon seemed to notice her belt and commented. “Sica, your belt is a little loose.”

“Hm?” Jessica glanced up and held onto her belt. She purposely wore a belt to make it seem as if her stomach still seem level. She may still have a flat tummy, but it didn’t mean that it still felt flat. Jessica felt her tummy expanding a little more, as if she was bloating a bit. Her stomach was definitely tighter than it was before.

“Here, let me fix it for you.” Taeyeon took the initiative and grabbed Jessica’s belt and adjusted it for her.

Jessica tensed up as the belt looped around her more constrictively, fitting her more precisely. She bit her lip, knowing that she should say something, but she didn’t want to ruin the announcement. She and Kris were supposed to tell them altogether, after the proposal.

“There,” Taeyeon smiled, stepping away. “That looks better.”

“Thanks.” Jessica ran her fingers over her belt, trying her best to seem normal, even if she felt as if she was squishing her baby blip.

Tiffany finished admiring her best friend’s dress and sighed. “We need to go shopping together. It’s been a while. I’m getting jealous of your clothing, Sica.”

The three girls burst into a comfortable laughter before making their way out of the restroom. Taking a deep breath, Jessica tried not to seem uncomfortable with the tightened belt around her. Why’d she decide to wear a belt? She already regrets it.

On her walk back towards the table, Jessica couldn’t help but feel her feet become achy. Suppressing the urge to pout, Jessica knew she made the wrong choice to wear heels. Oh the mistakes she had made regarding her outfit tonight.

Seeing that everyone has arrived, she quickly greeted everyone before taking a seat. A contented sigh left her lips when she felt the pressure relieve off her feet. Kris glanced over and eyed her curiously. Catching his wife adjusting her heels on her feet, Kris had a knowing look on his face.

Kris leaned over and whispered in Jessica’s ear. “I told you those shoes would be a bad choice.”

Jessica pouted at her husband, knowing that he was telling her to wear something more stable looking than heels before they left the house. Kris became a temporary ex-fan of heels after finding out Jessica was pregnant, knowing the dangers of those stick-like shoes. Sure, his wife looked great wearing them, but he wanted her to be more careful. In any case, she looked just as great wearing chucks to him anyways.

“Why does your belt look so tight?” Kris noticed, as he was the one who was worried about her wearing a belt in the first place.

“Tae tightened it while we were in the restroom.” Jessica whispered back at him.

Kris looked at her with worry and concern, seeing how clamped up she looked. “Why’d you let her do it?” he tried to loop his finger in between her body and the belt, but to no avail.

“Didn’t want to seem suspicious.” Jessica muttered, biting her lip, knowing that Kris was just as displeased as she was about the alterations of the belt.

Kris was about to say something, but was interrupted with the shouting directed their way. “Hey! What are you two talking about over there? Seems interesting.” Chen asked, being the nosy person is usually is.

“Stuff.” Kris replied bluntly before picking up the menu and handing it to Jessica, noticing that everyone else was deciding on their food already. Chen only shied away, knowing that Kris made his answer final and cut off the conversation.

Opening the menu, Jessica shared the booklet with Kris. “What do you feel like eating?”

“Lamb.” Kris barely glanced at the menu, as he was solely focusing on fixing Jessica’s belt. “What are you craving today?” he asked, knowing that she had different taste buds practically everyday.

Jessica hummed in a low manner. “I–” she took a moment to sigh out in comfort when Kris undid her belt.

Kris only chuckled at her before draping her belt on the chair. “I think you’re better off without a belt tonight. Now if only I could change those heels of yours.”

“Thank you.” Jessica’s eyes glimmered at him before she concentrated back on the menu and sighed. “I really want a burger right now.” She frowned, not liking the fact that it was dinnertime and sadly, they don’t serve burgers at this time of day. “Maybe I should get meat too.” She pondered.

“Better hurry up. They’re taking orders already.” Kris let her know that the waiter is already at their table.

Just as Jessica was deciding between chicken or veal, she looked up from her menu to realize that all the girls were ordering from the salad selections. Ugh. Normally, Jessica would go with the lighter, healthier meals, but little blip just wants junk food most of the time. Come to think of it now, Jessica has been missing out on her greens. She didn’t want to seem out of place either, considering that she would always eat lighter foods.

“I’ll get the lamb, medium.” Kris ordered before tightening his arms around Jessica to signal her turn.

“Caesar salad with chicken.” She placed her menu down.

But she really wanted meat. Jessica internally groaned.

Kris noticed the way her shoulders sagged and leaned towards her. “I’ll let you have some of my lamb, how about that?” he knew that she was trying to hide her pregnancy, but having craves.

Boy, was she glad someone understood her.

Near the end of the meal, everyone was in the midst of chattering and finishing up their food. Glancing off to the side, Kris noticed that Kai had done his best to at least swallow down half of his plate. Kai was definitely jittering on the inside, judging from his stone-stiff face.

Meeting eyes with Kai, Kris gave him a reassuring look of the eye, giving a tip of a nod. Kai shuddered in a deep breath and gave a nod of finality. He was going to do it now.

Kris grinned and looked down to see Jessica finishing the little few pieces of lamb that he gave her. “Jongin is going to do it now.” Kris whispered in her ear, not wanting Tiffany, who was sitting on the other side of Jessica, to hear.

Jessica’s eyes widened before she placed her utensils down and finished chewing. Wiping , she then glanced over at Kai’s direction. She saw him looking in deep thought as he sat there in solitude. Tiffany was in a deep conversation with Yuri and Seohyun who were across the table from them. Kai and Tiffany barely even looked at each other over dinner. Tiffany wasn’t lying when she said that things had gotten awkward between them.

Expecting Kai to get up anytime now, Jessica and Kris waited with anticipation. Their hearts were beating at a fast rating for the grand moment. Ten seconds passed…twenty seconds passed…thirty seconds…

But Kai didn’t move at all. It was as if he was stunned on the spot.

Jessica gripped onto Kris’ hands that were around her. Glancing back at Kris, Jessica had a worried expression. “If he doesn’t do it now, I can’t do it anymore.” She told her husband.

Kris only crooked his eyebrow, not understanding what she meant.

“I have to pee again.” Jessica squirmed in her seat, not being able to hold it in anymore if Kai doesn’t do it now.

Kris’ eyes widened. Trying to catch Kai’s attention, Kris tried to get him to move. He was taking too long and the longer he sits there, the longer he’s going to drag things out or in Jessica’s case, her bladder would explode.

“Come on, Jongin…” Kris muttered under his breath.

A few seconds after that, Kai finally got up from his seat and slipped out of the eating area and disappeared. Tiffany didn’t even notice. Jessica and Kris looked at each other, thinking the same thing. Jongin did not just leave to use the restroom.

Jessica heaved out a sigh. “I think I’m going to just use the rest–” she stopped short when she saw Kai walk back in with a bouquet of flowers in hand.

Settling down, the couple’s hearts started to palpitate in excitement for their friend. Just as Kai slowly walked back towards the table, everyone noticed and started to quiet down and stare at the incoming Kai.

Tiffany didn’t notice, seeming that Kai was walking up behind her nervously. Still conversing, Tiffany was happily talking and chatting until she saw Yuri and Seohyun’s look of surprise, gazing off somewhere else. Quieting down, Tiffany realized the whole table had gotten silent. Furrowing her eyebrows, Tiffany became curious as to what they were looking at. Following their eyesight, she slowly turned around and met eyes with her boyfriend.

Tiffany’s eyes widened as Kai grinned at her nervously. Kai extended the bouquet of flowers towards her, asking her to take it. A small smile filled her lips as Tiffany stood up and received the bouquet. Surely, the little vacant feeling in her heart filled up immediately.

“Jongin,” Tiffany grinned widely. “You–” a gasp filled her lungs when Kai suddenly went down on one knee and produced a diamond ring settled in a black velvet box.

Her face immediately became surprised, eyes wide and mouth agape, similar to everyone else watching. The grip on her bouquet tightened as her hand shook uncontrollably to cover . A strawberry tint filled her whole face. She instantly became glued on the spot, at a loss for words. She did not expect this at all.

“Hwang Miyoung, from the day I met you, I loved your confidence, your caring nature and your beautiful self. From the beginning, I promised to get to know you better. To understand this woman that was independent and successful. You’ve captured my heart ever since the start and I wanted nothing more but to receive all your love and attention. You were on my mind every hour of the day. I couldn’t stop thinking about you. The day you agreed to become my girlfriend became my happiest day. But today, it would be the happiest of my life if you would say yes to my proposal.” Kai gazed at Tiffany’s watery eyes. “Tiffany, will you marry me?”

Everyone at the table held their breaths, holding their fists to their mouths. No one except Kris and Jessica knew about the proposal, but even then, the couple had the same reaction as everyone else in the restaurant. The room was quiet, as they awaited Tiffany’s impending answer.

Tiffany’s eyes brimmed with tears. “…Y–Yah!” she smacked Kai on his shoulder with her bouquet, shocking everyone.

Not expecting that answer, everyone at the table took in a gasp.

Kai remained still with a determined look. He knew he hurt her by ignoring her. He knew she became flustered with him. He knew she was having a hard time because of him. Tiffany had every right to be mad at him.

Tiffany’s frown slowly inched it’s way upwards, as she couldn’t contain her inner happiness. “…Is that why you’ve been ignoring me?” she produced a small laugh, before she broke out in a big smile, swiping a stray tear of happiness that fell on her cheek.

Kai only smiled, nodding his head.

“You jerk…” she sniffled jokingly, the ecstatic tears continued to fall.

“You still haven’t answered me, Tiff.” Kai gave her a doting look. “Will you marry me?”

The four words made Tiffany’s heart flutter. Nodding her head over and over again with her signature eye smile, Tiffany was at a loss for words, too overwhelmed at the proposal to even muster up any words.

Taking her hand, Kai slipped the ring on her finger before standing up and hugging onto her. Having his now fiancée bursting with happy tears, Kai comforted her with loving words whispered in her ear, hugging onto her tightly.

The whole table started to applaud and cheer with happiness and excitement while the two shared a kiss. Soon after, the whole restaurant started to clap, surprising even the members.

“I CALL BEING THE BEST MAN!!” Kyungsoo unexpectedly shouted out with his hand raised high.

“Wait, what?!” Chanyeol complained. “NO! I CALL BEING THE BEST MAN!! ME, JONGIN. MEEEEE!!!”

Yixing sighed and pulled both Kyungsoo and Chanyeol’s hands down. “Calm down guys. There’s no need to fight.” They gave him an inquiring look. “We all know I deserve to be the best man~”

“YEAH RIGHT. I DO. BYUN BAEKHYUN WILL GIVE HIS BODY TO YOU, JONGIN. JUST PICK ME AS YOUR BEST MAN.” Baekhyun dramatically stood up on his chair, yelling.

“Why would you give your body? Gross!” Hyoyeon remarked.

“Because Bacon’s heart belongs to Tae-tae~” he cupped his face and blinked ever-so innocently at Taeyeon.

Taeyeon rolled her eyes before giggling and nudging her boyfriend away from her.

“Congrats you two!!” Sunny perked up, being the first to congratulate the two.

Soon after, everyone started to congratulate the recently engaged couple. The bickering to be the best never stopped and the constant cheers never settled down. Giving Tiffany a quick congratulatory hug, Jessica then shared several words with her still teary best friend and gave her another warm hug before rushing off towards the bathroom.

“Let’s do a toast!!” Sooyoung insisted, making everyone raise their glasses.

With the gathering of twenty-one people, it was hard to even realize one was missing during the toast. Kris silently thanked the angels that Jessica had to use the restroom during a time like this, knowing that they were toasting with wine.

“TIME FOR DESSERT!” Minseok cheered. “CAKE. WHERE’S THE CAKE?!”

Kris rolled his eyes as everyone else started to freak out and create chaos for some cake. The excitement was never going to end now and they definitely were too cheery to calm down. It’s been a while since they’ve all met up together and enjoyed their time like this. With this hyped up mood about Kai and Tiffany’s proposal, Kris didn’t want to take away the attention from them.

“You already wiped your plate of prime rib clean!” Yoona pointed out, stunned at his huge appetite.

“Oh, please. Fine dining never fills me.” Minseok scoffed before trying to rally up more people to get dessert with him, instead of getting up to leave.

Chanyeol perked up. “I think I might want some dessert!”

“Me too!” Sehun agreed excitedly. “Lulu, let’s get dessert!” he glanced over to his hyung to find him engulfing Kai and Tiffany in an over-dramatic hug.

“I’m so proud! Super duper proud! I just can’t. Just can’t!” Luhan fake sobbed as he squished the two recently engaged couple. “Mama bear has to let go of our dark baby bear now.”

Kai gave him an uncomprehending look. “What are you even talking about?”

“Have fun, Jongin. You’re now officially all grown up. You can now join the old people list along with Kris.” Luhan gave him a supportive pat on Kai’s back and silenced with an awkward pause. “…So~ I’m going to be your best man at your wedding, huh?”

Kai rolled his eyes at the deer and shoved him away. “Yeah, right.”

“Well excuse you then!!” Luhan sassed before strutting away in failed attempt.

Giving a sigh of relief, Jessica exited the restroom with a tired expression. She was ready to go home, shower and tuck into bed. The smell of wine in the restaurant made her uncomfortable, her feet ached and there were a massive amount of people around. All she wanted was to be in the comfort of her own home.

Seeing everyone already putting on their coats and getting ready to leave, Jessica grinned and hurried up to retrieve her items at her seat. A few members were giving their billionth congratulatory wishes before they made their way towards the exit.

“Ready to go home?” Kris helped Jessica put on her coat.

An exasperated whine came out. “I’m more than ready to go home~” Jessica quickly bustled toward the exit of the restaurant, Kris in tow.
