Chapter 2

Forever

Author’s POV:

An excited cheer came out from Jessica as soon as her feet came in contact with the warm sand. She wiggled her toes for a moment, getting them comfortable with the smooth sand. Taking her time to examine the beach, the grin on her lips never faltered.

“Finally~” she took in a deep breath, happy to finally be able to enjoy the beautiful beach today. “Oh, there’s an open umbrella over there!” she noticed an unoccupied sun umbrella and quickly ran towards it.

Kris only sagged his shoulders with a dull look on his face. Seeing his wife run excitedly, he had no choice but to follow her. He of course did not want to visit the beach on this sunny day, but seeing that his wife had been complaining and sulking for practically the whole morning, he gave in. Slinging the beach bag over his shoulder, Kris still trudged his way after Jessica.

As soon as he made it under the umbrella, Jessica patted onto the sun chaise that was next to hers, gesturing him to sit. “See, Kris? I told you it’d be nice to go to the beach today!” she smiled happily. “It’s even better now that we had breakfast too!”

Slumping onto the sun chaise, Kris wasn’t rejuvenated at all. Yes, they finally had a breakfast meal this morning, but he wasn’t emotionally or physically satisfied due to the events that had occurred in the early morning. Jessica had woken up at the ungodly early hours of the morning, escaped out of his hold and ran into the bathroom to shower. Not even giving him a chance to process what was going on.

Peeking over at Jessica, Kris instantly grabbed her wrists after seeing what she was doing. His wife was in the middle of taking off her shirt, as she wore her bikini underneath.

His sunglasses tipped, letting him give Jessica a hard look. “Don’t even think about it.” his eyes sending her a sign of warning.

Already knowing what his reason was, Jessica let her shirt drape over her torso as her arms fell onto her lap. “But it’s hot~”

“Well you should’ve thought about that when you were changing this morning.” Kris shifted himself back in his sun chaise, making himself comfortable.

Jessica pouted. Even if she adored her possessive Kris, she could also get annoyed of it. They were at the beach, but Kris didn’t even let her wear her bikini without having her layered in clothing over it. Why even bother to try having fun on the hot beach when you’re not even allowed to show off any revealing skin?

Plopping down on the sun chaise, she laid there in boredom. She flipped to the side to examine her husband who was quietly enjoying his time by just laying there with his eyes closed.

Feeling lonely on her own lounging chair, she got up and crawled her way next to Kris. Making herself comfortable, Jessica hugged onto him as she rested her head on his chest. Kris welcomed her as he wrapped one arm around her, his eyes still shut underneath his shades.

The two rested in a nice silence for moment, till the point where Kris literally almost fell asleep. He was suddenly woken up when Jessica spoke up in an excited manner, as she sat up.

“Oppa!” she exclaimed with a bright look on her cute face.

“What is it?” Kris asked, rubbing his eyes to wake himself up.

Jessica pointed over to a group of people across from them having ice cream in their hands. “Let’s get ice cream!” her eyes glistened at the frozen desert from afar, as it was perfect to eat in this hot weather.

A chuckle emitted from Kris before he sat up as well. “I’ll go get some.” He rummaged through the beach bag for a couple bills before shoving them inside his shorts pocket. “I’ll be right back. Stay put.” He instructed.

Nodding her head, Jessica gave him a happy smile. Kissing her on the lips, Kris then got up in search for a local convenience store nearby.

Sitting on the lounging chaise with her legs crossed as she leaned back on her hands, Jessica was following orders and staying put. Her eyes stared longingly at the beautiful blue ocean in front of her.

Temptation arose when she saw the water wash up onto the shore, only to slide back down again. Biting down her lip, she imagined how refreshing it would be if the glistening waves washed up and over her petite feet. Glancing around, she didn’t see Kris nearby. Maybe just one minute of playing in the water wouldn’t hurt

Racing her way over towards the waves, Jessica excitedly stood on the wet, damp sand as she waited for the soft waves of water to hit her feet. When the cool water washed over her feet, she couldn’t help but smile and wiggle her toes. Just when the water disappeared, it would glide right back up.

Soon enough, Jessica was almost knee deep into the water. She loved how the cool waters contrasted with the heat from the sun. Minding her own business, she didn’t even notice two people walking her way.

“Excuse me…” the male spoke up, making Jessica look up. “You seem lonely…”

Jessica’s face filled with confusion. She was about to respond, trying to tell them that she wasn’t alone and that she came to the beach with Kris.

“Would you like to play some volleyball with us?” the female asked, holding up a volleyball in her hands. “We’re actually missing a player.”

“Oh…” Jessica realized their intention. “Thank you, but I’m not that good in sports.” She made her way closer to the people on shore.

“That’s okay!” The male grinned. “It’s just for fun anyways. What do you say?”

Biting onto her lip, she quickly glanced over at the umbrella she was supposed to be waiting under for Kris to come back. “Well, I’m actually supposed to be waiting for someone…”

“Well, you can play a game with us while you wait!” the female suggested. “It won’t take long, I promise!”

Jessica hesitated for a moment, knowing how Kris would react if he came back and didn’t find her where he had left her. She looked back at the group of adults that were around her age in front of her. One game wouldn’t hurt.

“Sure.” Jessica agreed and started to follow the group towards the volleyball net located on the idle side of the beach.

“So what’s your name?” The male questioned her. “I’m David.”

Flashing a smile, Jessica found these people to be very easy to talk to. “Nice to meet you David, I’m Jessica.” She shook hands with him.

“I’m Catherine.” The female introduced herself. “Nice to meet you Jessica.”

Jessica nodded and shook her hand as well. Catherine noticed the showy diamond ring on Jessica’s finger and her expression perked up.

“You’re married?” Catherine asked. “That’s a gorgeous ring!”

Nodding her head shyly, Jessica agreed. “I’m actually on my honeymoon right now.”

“Oh, were you waiting for your husband just now?” David inquired, as Catherine was busy gawking at Jessica’s ring in amazement.

“Yes,” Jessica grinned. “I was craving some ice cream so he went to buy some for me.”

Catherine gasped, “Wow, your husband is so generous! Dave won’t even get up from the couch to grab the remote most of the time, let alone do things for me!”

Jessica glanced at the two. “Are you two together?”

The two nodded their heads. “Catherine and I have been dating for four years.” David explained.

“Four long years and he still haven’t even popped the question.” Catherine rolled her eyes, sighing as she looked at Jessica with a frown. “I told him that if he loved me, he would put a ring on my finger, but it hasn’t happened as of yet. What is it with men these days?”

Jessica giggled, “I’m sure he’ll surprise you soon.”

“I hope so.” Catherine sighed. “And it better be one big surprise that will sweep me off my feet.”

David just groaned and eyed the two that were already getting along. “Women…” he shook his head.

As Jessica continued to exchange conversation with Catherine and David, she got to know that they were in their mid twenties, just like Jessica herself. She had told the two that she and Kris were living in Korea, whereas the other resided in the states.  Just as she got herself acquainted to the two, she was introduced to a couple more friends of David and Catherine who were also around their age.

About to start the volleyball game, Catherine noticed that Jessica was dressed in a light jacket and jean shorts. “Are you wearing anything underneath?”

Catherine’s straightforward question threw Jessica off for a moment until Catherine explained. “It’s quite hard to play beach volleyball in layers. Are you wearing a bikini or anything underneath? It’ll be easier and even cooler since it’s so hot today.”

“I’m actually wearing a two piece underneath.” Jessica replied, but showed signs that she didn’t want to take anything off.

Jessica was about to explain herself, to tell them that her husband was super conservative and disliked her showing skin to anyone else other than Kris himself, but Catherine spoke up again.

“It’s okay, you don’t need to be shy. Practically every girl on this beach is wearing a bikini, including me.” Catherine smiled. “You’ll blend right in.”

Contemplating for a moment, Jessica ended up nodding her head. She was only playing one game. She figured she could quickly slip her clothes back on after and Kris wouldn’t know a thing.

Tossing her jacket, shirt and shorts off to the side, Jessica then stood next to Catherine, ready to begin the game.

After some explanations on how to play the game, Jessica was ready to play. Serving the ball over, the other team effortlessly hit it back. The white ball bounced back and forth constantly until it came near Jessica.

Doing just as she was taught, Jessica jumped up and smacked the ball harshly. She successfully spiked the ball, like how Catherine taught her. Once she landed back on her feet, Jessica only then noticed that the ball she spiked had hit a male in the face.

Jessica immediately gasped and ran over to him in worry. “Are you okay, Jason? I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to!”

Jason only shook his head and got up from the sand. “It’s okay. Your hits are pretty strong.” He held a thumb up, complimenting on her on her spike. “Even if they spin.”

“Spin?” Jessica didn’t understand what he was saying.

Kris trailed his way back onto the beach, sipping on a soda. The convenience store ran out of ice cream because of the mass amount of people who barged in and bought the entire desert section. Kris just settled with a chilled soda, thinking Jessica wouldn’t mind with a soft drink instead.

As soon as he gets a close distance back to their spot, Kris froze in his steps when all he saw was the beach bag sitting on the sun chaise under the umbrella. His wife disappeared when he told her to stay put.

Running his way over, he shoved his soda down onto the sand. There was no sign of his Jessica at all. Scanning his eyes across the beach, Kris’s sharp eyes looked at each and every detail of the beach. His eyes landed onto the volleyball net, as he spotted his wife standing behind it.

Kris’s eyebrows furrowed when he noticed Jessica was only dressed in her bikini, showing large amounts of her perfect porcelain skin. A frown drooped on his lips, as he told her not to take off any clothing at all.

Starting his way towards the volleyball court, Kris walked casually with his eyes still glued onto his Jessica. It wasn’t until he spotted a male talking to his wife did he flare in anger. It didn’t make it any better that the man was half was holding onto Jessica’s arm. The man gave Jessica a bright smile and that was when Kris started to glare.

Striding big intimidating steps towards Jessica, Kris’s eyes filled with irritation.

“So I just hit the ball like this?” Jessica swung her arm up, just like how Jason had just showed her.

Jason nodded his head and flashed another charming smile her way. “That way the ball doesn’t fly in a different direction.”

“Oh~” Jessica nodded her head. “What if I just want to pass it to some-” before she could even finish her question, she let out a loud scream when she was suddenly lifted off the ground.

Everyone on the court looked at her in utter confusion with dumbfounded faces. Too shocked to even realize what was happening.

Jessica’s eyes had shut when she was lifted high up, but when she opened them again, she only saw a gray color in front of her. Blinking in a perplexed manner, she then felt her body swaying and her head was having much more pressure than usual. Only a couple seconds passed did she then realize that she was upside down.

Lifting herself up, she saw her newly acquainted friends getting farther and farther away from her. Jessica looked around and saw that someone was carrying her over their shoulder. Without any guesses, Jessica already knew who it was. She slowly slumped back down, her hands grasping onto the gray shirt tightly. She’s been caught.

Suddenly stopping, Jessica was then set back down onto the sand. Biting down her lip, Jessica slowly directed her eyes up.

“Hi Kris,” she gave a meek smile.

Kris only gave her a stare with raised eyebrows.

“Sorry,” Jessica immediately apologized, hugging onto him. “I just wanted to dip my feet into the water.”

“And you end up at a volleyball court with only a bikini on?” he only inquired quizzically.

Jessica’s arms just tightened around his neck. “I made new friends and they wanted to play volleyball with me.”

“I’m sure you did. Those guys did seem extremely focused on you.” Kris’s voice was still neutral, as if he was sulking like a little boy. “I’m sure you enjoyed the skin contact you had with that one guy.”

“Jason just teaching me how to play. There was nothing else involved.” Jessica looked him in the eyes. “I accidentally hit him in the face and then he started to teach me how to play correctly so accidents like that won’t happen again.”

Kris nodded his head with a nonchalant expression. “Right. That would explain why you’re only in your bikini. Yes, that seems about right. Did Jason tell you to run away from this spot and ditch your husband too?” He put his index finger on his chin, playfully making her think of her mistakes.

Jessica pouted, “Stop making me feel bad, Kris~ I’m sorry!” she blinked at him cutely several times before she connected their lips together, giving him a kiss. “Please forgive me?” she pulled out her doe eyes, blinking ever so innocently up at him.

“Where are your clothes?” Kris suddenly became serious, changing the topic.

Having her shoulders deflated, Jessica pointed over towards the volleyball court with a careful expression on her face.

Kris huffed out a breath before he suddenly pulled off his shirt, leaving his whole torso bare. Having her eyes widen, Jessica eyed him in shock. Pulling his shirt over her head, Kris covered up her revealing body.

“Let’s go.” Kris wrapped his arm around her waist, walking back towards the volleyball court.

Jessica only waddled next to him, eying him. “You’re not mad, are you?”

“Of course I am.” Kris gave her a scary smile, making her face falter into a saddened appearance.

“Sorry…” Jessica spoke softly, feeling extra guilty.

Kris only s his arm to her shoulder and pulled her close, giving a peck to her cheek. “I won’t completely forgive you right now, but I do believe you.” He softened.

Looking up at her husband with a small smile on her face, Jessica encircled him in a hug.

“Jessica! Are you okay?” Catherine ran up to them, eying Kris weirdly.

“Oh, yeah.” Jessica smiled, as Kris tightened his hold on her waist. “Catherine, I want you to meet my husband, Kris. Kris, this is Catherine.”

“Nice to meet you,” Kris extended his hand. “Sorry I made a scene earlier, I was just too excited to see my Jessica again.”

Catherine nodded her head with an understanding look before shaking Kris’s hand. “Nice to meet you, Kris. Oh wait, let me go get Dave.” She gestured for us to wait a moment before she ran off to get David.

Kris took this chance and leaned close to Jessica’s ear, “You owe me an apology later tonight.” he whispered before nipping at her earlobe, making her gasp and turn red.
