"I Have Something to Tell You"
Loose EndsSeohyun glanced at the clock ticking away. It was already 10pm . . . she would have to go home soon. Sighing, she closed her book and stood up. Slowly she walked up to the bed, where Yonghwa was laying.
Beep . . . Beep . . . Beep . . .
She glanced at the machine quietly beeping on the side. The machine that kept Yonghwa's heart beating.
"Yong," she murmured, gently. "I have to go now . . . " she continued, putting her hand on his. "Sleep well, Oppa."
Then she left the room, looking back as she closed the sliding door.
The bus stopped in front of Seohyun and she climbed up the steps. No one was on the bus but her. Swiping her card, she sighed and sat down on an empty seat.
"Yong . . . I have something to tell you . . ." she hesitantly spoke over the phone.
"What is it?" her oppa replied, curious as to what the shy Seohyun could possibly be hiding.
"No oppa, I have to tell you in person," she continued.
Yonghwa chuckled, his laughter ringing through the phone. "Okay Hyun~ I'll come pick you up from cram school after band practice and you tell me then, alright?"
"Mhm," Seohyun agreed.
The bus stopped abruptly. Seohyun, shaken out of her dazed state, stared at the screen. "Next stop: Hongdae Center" it read.
"Hongdae . . ."
Seohyun's phone started to vibrate.
"Whose phone is that!" the teacher yelled.
Seohyun took a peek at the screen, hoping that it was something important. "Yong" it read.
Puzzled, she grabbed her phone. "I'm very sorry," she apologized before running out of the room to take the call.
"Hello?" she answered.
"Seohyun-ssi?" a shaky voice replied.
" . . . Minhyuk?" Seohyun asked, puzzled as to why Minhyuk was using Yonghwa's phone.
"Yonghwa . . . he . . . he . . ." Minhyuk was crying. His breath was staggered and he couldn't talk straight.
"What happened to Yong?" Seohyun anxiously pursued an answer.
"He . . . we . . . we got into a car accident at Hongdae Center and Yonghwa . . ."
The bus stopped again. This time, they were at Hongdae. Seohyun slowly got up and off the bus. Walking along the street, the mall was noisy and lively, but all Seohyun could hear was the click-clacking of her heels. Finally it stopped. In front of her sat a bouquet of chrysanthemums. The European flower for the dead.
"Yonghwa . . . he protected me . . . and . . . he died."
