Valentine's Day Prom

I Am Willing To Wait For You...For A Thousand Years...And More

Taeyeon's POV

I was chatting with my bestfriend sitting beside me in the hall, while we were waiting for our morning assembly to start.

"Taeyeon! I read your note! Tell me it's true! You're not joking with me right?" Yuri asked.

"Ofcourse not! Why would I joke about things like this?!" I said.

"Really?! Yes!!! I'm so happy for you, Taeyeon!" Yuri said as she gave me a quick squeeze.

Suddenly, the whole school quietened down as soon as our principal walked onto the stage.

"Good morning students, as you all know, our school will turn 170 years old on the 14th of February this Saturday! To celebrate our school's 170th anniversary, and it falls on the 14th of February, which is valentine's day, instead of having a senior prom this year, we are having a valentine's day prom which is opened for the entire school to celebrate this special day!" he paused as they whole school broke the silence and cheered.

"We will allow all of you to invite your dates if he or she is from another school. The theme for the prom is the beach! So remember to wear appropriately! It will be held in the hall. That's all for today, thank you students and enjoy your prom!" he said and left the stage as the whole school cheered in joy, even louder than before.

"Yes! I can't wait to dance with Sica!!! Are you going to ask Tiffany if she would like to be your date?" Yuri asked.

"She must be going with that jerk so why bother? I would just end up being disappointed....." I thought as I sighed.

"No..." I replied Yuri.

"Then who are you going to the prom with? You do know you have to go to the prom with someone right? You can't possibly come alone, right?" Yuri asked.

"Maybe....I'll go to the prom with.....Nicole?" I said as I ran out of people who will be willing to go to the prom with me as the rest have already found their dates, judging by the smiles on Yoona and Sooyoung's faces.

"Nicole? Okay! It's been forever since I've last seen her after getting into high school!" Yuri exclaimed in joy.

"Alright! I'll ask her then!" I said as I have decided to ask Nicole to be my date for the prom.

-------------------------------------------

After class, unlike usual, I packed my things quickly and was the first to leave the classroom. It was my first day getting back together with my angel and I simply couldn't wait to see her. When I opened the door of our dorm, to my disappointment, she was not in sight.

"Since Fany's not here now, why don't I call Nicole and ask her first?" I thought.

I walked over to the table where I last left my phone, picked it up and called the girl I have not been in contact with, after getting into high school and gone our seperate ways.

It rang for a few seconds before she answered, "Hello?"

"Hey Nic! It's me! Taeyeon!" I greeted.

"Taeyeon?! Hey! It's been forever since we've last talked! What's up?" she asked.

"Oh....Em... My school is having a valentine's day prom to celebrate our school's 170th anniversary this Saturday.....The rest have already found their dates, all except for me. Would you mind being my date for the prom? It's compulsary so I have to get someone to go to the prom with me," I said, my heart ached a little at how pathetic I sounded.

"Ofcourse I won't mind! You know how much I love dancing! Plus, I miss you guys so much! I would love to go to the prom with you!" she replied with enthusiasm.

"Really?! Great! Thanks so much, Nic! You're the best!" I said with a wide smile.

"You're welcome! I have to go now, see you on Saturday! Bye!" she said.

"Okay! See you too!" I said as I hung up the phone.

As if on cue, as soon as I hung up the phone, I heard the 'cling cling' sounds of the key when someone unlocked the dorm door, revealing a cute familiar girl wearing school uniform.

"Fany's back!" I thought almost immediately.

"Taetae, I'm home!" she said as she walked towards the couch, dropped her bag beside and jumped onto it.

"I'm exhausted!" she complained as I knew what she meant.

Without uttering a word or doing anything else, I walked towards the tired girl and stopped right behind her, put both my hands her shoulder, one on each end, and started massaging it. After that, Tiffany's stiff shoulder seemed to relax as it became less tense than before. She smiled as she leaned back and looked up to face me.

"So Taetae, who are you going to the prom with?" she asked as I jerked.

"Em.....My friend, Nicole.... She loves dancing and it seemed so long since we've last met each other....I miss her alot and I can't wait to see her on Saturday!" I said and tried faking a smile.

"You're going with Siwon, aren't you?" I asked although I clearly knew the answer.

"Ofcourse! I have been dreaming about this special night since I was young, to be able to dance with the person I love on that night, to be in his arms. Gosh! It would be super romantic! I can't wait for the prom! How about you? Aren't you excited?" she said with enthusiasm.

"Yeah....Me too..." I lied as I forced another bitter smile.

"Have you thought of what you want to wear to the prom yet?" I asked before she starts going on about how perfect Siwon is.

"Ofcourse! I've been saving up this super cute dress if I ever wanted to go to the beach so I'll use this opportunity to wear it!" she said as her eyes sparkled.

"What about you?" she asked.

"Well....I'm just planning to wear what I normally wear to the beach...I want to save up my money for Hyoyeon so I'm not planning to buy new clothes," I said as she smiled.

She opened her arms and gave me a quick squeeze.

"Aw~ You're so sweet, Taetae! I hope I could have a sister like you!" she said as I couldn't help but smile.

--------------------------------------

Friday morning

As soon as I reached my classroom, I was shocked at the unusual scene outside my classroom. Students from other classes were crowding outside the classroom with well-decorated cards with heartshapes on them and roses in their hands, desperately asking my classmates to be his or her date for the prom.

They clogged up the passage way that I had a hard time getting to the door. Since I am small, I thought I could squeeze through the crowd without a problem. I was wrong. As I squeezed my way into the crowd, I got squashed by them so badly that I could barely breathe. I tried to move left, then to my right but I couldn't even move an inch. I was sandwitched between all of them. I was stuck.

"How pathetic, Kim Taeyeon!" I thought as I rolled my eyes.

I decided to try another time and used all my strength to squeeze through them but to no avail.

"Gah! I know I'm small but why couldn't I have stronger hands?! This is insane!" I thought, angry to be squashed by the people around me.

Suddenly, I felt a warm hand grabbing onto my wrist as it tightened and pulled me out of the crowd. In an instant, I was already in the classroom. I turned and found my hero, Choi Sooyoung.

"Thanks so much, Sooyoung! I thought I would suffocate in there anytime soon!" I exaggerated.

"Kim Taeyeon! You pabo! How long are you intending to be trapped in there, huh?!" she shouted as she playfully hit my head.

"It's not my fault that I was born short and small! What's with them anyway?! It's just a prom! Why are they getting so worked up about it?! It's just another night, just that it involves dancing with someone, that's all...." I snapped back at her although I didn't really mean what I said.

Ofcourse the prom was important for me! I was just unhappy to be squashed by others and couldn't go to the prom with the girl of my dreams. Whenever I remembered Tiffany going to the prom with that jerk instead of me, just pisses the hell out of me.

"Why are they getting so worked up about it?!" a familiar voice behind me exclaimed.

I turned, only to find Sunny storming towards me. Before I knew it, she was right infront of me.

"She sure walks fast for someone with short legs..." I thought as I looked at the angry girl infront of me.

The way she glared at me sent chills down my spine. It was the first time I've seen her so angry before.

"Do you even know what you're talking about?!" she snapped.

"It is not just night! It is the most important night in high school! The night you spend dancing with someone you like! The night you'll remember for life! It is normally held at the end of the year for seniors who are graduating, and now it is open for the whole entire school! Ofcourse everybody is excited and want to ask the person they like to be their date before he or she is already going with someone else to the prom! I really don't get how you're not even slightly excited about it!" Sunny exclaimed.

"Because I can't go to the prom with the person I love....so what's there to be happy about?" I thought and sighed.

-----------------------------------------

Author's POV

Sooyoung stood there, totally speechless. She never knew how different her lover would be when she was angry and how much the prom meant to her.  Sunny was so angry with Taeyeon that she never stopped glaring at the girl. She had to try to calm her lover down as soon as possible.

"Sunny Bunny, calm down!" Sooyoung tried to calm her lover down but only received a death glare from her.

"I need to calm her down, fast!!!" Sooyoung thought as she pulled the angry little girl infront of her, into her embrace.

At first, Sunny fought back and tried her best to break free from the Shikshin. She soon gave up as her whole body relaxed in her lovers arms and wrapped her hands around her. A smirk grew on the Shikshin's face as soon as she felt her girl hugging her back.

"Soonkyu ah~ You may think it's an improtant day but others may not! Don't get too upset over this, alright? I don't want my Sunny bunny to be upset! I love you, bunny~" Sooyoung comforted Sunny with her attmpt at acting cute.

Sunny couldn't possibly stay angry at Taeyeon after hearing her honey's sweet words. Sooyoung seldom say these sweet things, so she wanted to cherish every single word her honey has just said to comfort her, especially the three important words that came out of .

"Aw~ You're so sweet~ I love you too," she whipsered into her ears so nobody else in the room could hear.

She pulled away from Sooyoung and turned to the girl she was angry at, a few moments ago.

"I'm sorry, Taeyeon, Sooyoung's right. Everybody has their own opinions, prom just means so much to me that it seems almost impossible to not get excited or worked up about such an important night," Sunny apologized.

"Don't worry about i, I get it. I can tell how much it means to you," Taeyeon said as the teacher just walked into the class.

Realizing this too, Sunny and Sooyoung turned around and was going back to their seats when Sunny turned back and mouthed to Taeyeon, "Have a great time tomorrow!"

Understanding what she mouthed at her, Taeyeon nodded, gave her a dorky smile and mouthed back, " You too!"

Both of them broke eye contact and turned to face the teacher. The class greeted the teacher in unison before sitting down and started their lesson.

Taeyeon's POV

"Phone? Check! Earpiece? Check! Watch? Check! Wallet? Check!" I checked for all the things I was supposed to bring incase I left anything out.

I walked to the mirror and checked myself for the last time. I saw the reflection of myself in my favourite pair of white shorts, my favourite blue t-shirt with a ed blue checkess shirt over it, the one which I saved up a whole month of my daily allowance to buy.

"Looking good, Kim Taeyeon!" I said to myself as I checked the time.

"Oh! It's time to go!" I exclaimed as I rushed out of the room.

"Hyoyeon, I need to go now! Bye! I won't be coming back tonight so don't bother waiting for me and ask Omma not to cook dinner for me!" I said as she nodded and left the house.

--------------------------------

At the train station

I was supposed to meet Nicole here and go to my school together but she was nowhere to be found. It was ten minutes past our meeting time but she was not in sight. I started to get frustrated.

"Gosh! Where is that girl?" I thought as someone tapped me on the shoulder.

I turned around, only to find a beautiful familiar looking girl in a green long dress with her raven-black hair half tied up, half let down, staring back at me. That familiar eye smile of hers grew on her face almost instantly when she saw me.

"Taeyeon!" she shrieked and gave me a quick squeeze.

"I missed you so much! Sorry I was late, I was watching drama and lost track of the time!" she explained as she pouted.

"Nicole! It's okay, we can still make it in time," I said as I smiled back.

I couldn't stay mad at her for being late, I missed her too much. Before splitting up and entering high school, we used to hang out all the time together with Yuri, Sooyoung and Yoona. Due to this, it has been forever since the last time we saw each other.

"C'mon! Let's go! The train has arrived! I don't wanna miss another second of the prom, you hear me?!" she said as I smiled.

"Ofcourse! Let's go!" I replied as we boarded the train.

------------------------------------------

Outside the school

"Wow! Your school is incredibly huge!" Nicole exclaimed as she couldn't take her eyes off of it.

"Haha! You sound like Hyoyeon the first time I brought her here. It's made up of three different buildings so it is really huge as a whole," I explained with a proud grin.

"Cool!" Nicole exclaimed as she flashed me another eye smile.

"C'mon! I'll lead you to the hall. Didn't you say you don't want to waste any more time?" I asked with a smirk.

"Oh yes! I love dancing! Let's go!" she exclaimed as we headed to the hall.

As soon as we entered, we couldn't help but smile at the sight of it. There was a sign that said 'Happy 170th anniversary!' on the wall in rainbow colours. There were artificial plants and trees everywhere, with surfboards placed at the side. There were even tents set up at the side for snacks and drinks. The hall was full with girls in beautiful dresses and boys in cool shirts and pants, dancing and having a great time. It really seemed like a beach party with couples dancing and having some fun.

"Nicole!" a familiar voices shouted as I turned around and smiled at the caller.

"Yuri!" Nicole ran towards the girl with open arms without hesitation and squeezed her tightly in her arms.

"I missed you so much!" Yuri exclaimed and pulled away from the girl.

Another familiar girl standing beside Yuri caught Nicole's eye.

"Sooyoung!" she exclaimed and gave her a tight squeeze too.

"Nicole! How have you been?" Sooyoung asked, with food in her hands as usual.

"I've been great! You?" she asked back.

"I've been great too! I've even started dating!" Sooyoung said but earned a slap on the shoulder by Sunny as pink spread across her cheeks.

Understanding Sunny's actions, she knew that her friend was dating her. Without getting upset or shocked, she simply just smiled.

"I'm so happy for you, Sooyoung!" she said as Sooyoung smiled back at her.

"Thanks Nic!" she said with her usual playful grin.

Just then, a familiar blonde girl in a yellow dress walked towards us, stopped beside Yuri and naturally wrapped her hand around Yuri's arm.

"Hey guys!" she said and just noticed an unfamiliar face infront of her.

"Hi, I'm Jessica!" she introduced and smiled at Nicole.

"Hi! I'm Nicole, Taeyeon's date for tonight. I'm guessing you guys are...." she said as she pointed at Jessica's hand that was wrapped around Yuri's arm.

Jessica instantly removed her hand from Yuri's arm as both of their faces turned as red as a tomato. Knowing what this meant, she also smiled at them.

"I'm really happy for you, Yuri!" she said, happy for both of them for finding happiness.

I turned to face the blonde and whispered to her, "Where's Fany?"

"I don't know, she was still in the dorm when Yuri and I came down to the hall," she replied as I sighed, I was hoping to see my angel after being away from her for the whole of yesterday, it just didn't feel right without her by my side.

At the corner of my eye, I spotted the girl I was looking for, whom has just entered the hall with Siwon beside her. Her wavy brown curls cascaded down her shoulders. Her white dress hung gently onto her shoulders, making her look like an angel. My heart started to pump vigorously at the sight of my angel. I swear, nobody on Earth could look as gorgeous as she is right now.

"She looks like an...angel..." I thought as my eyes were locked on her.

"Taeyeon!" Nicole called as it snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah?" I asked, surprised.

"Were you even listening to me? I asked you whether you want to start dancing," Nicole said with a pout.

"Oh....em...sure..." I said as I didn't really feel like dancing, only for Nicole's sake since we seldom see each other and I wanted to spend time with her.

-------------------------------

I knew I was dancing with Nicole and she's my date for tonight but I couldn't keep my eyes off of Tiffany. I have tried but since she was standing vertically opposite me at the other end of the hall, I had a perfect view of my angel the whole time so it was simply impossible for me not to look at her.

Just then, she moved her leg too quickly and landed it heavily onto Siwon's foot.

"Ouch!" he shouted as Tiffany quickly apologized to him.

I couldn't help but giggle at her clumsiness. She's like a five years old kid at her first ballet class.

"Why are you so cute even when you're clumsy?" I thought as I continued to stare at the clumsy girl.

"Taeyeon!" Nicole said as I snapped out of my thoughts once again.

"Yeah?" I asked, being caught off gaurd.

"Are you okay? What has gotten into you today? You keep daydreaming..." she asked, with worry in her eyes.

"I'm fine, I'm just....thinking about someone, that's all.." I simply replied.

"Tiffany?" she asked as I froze on the spot.

"How did she know?!" I thought as I jerked.

"Yoona told me everything. You like her but she doesn't kno, she already has a boyfriend and you've been really depressed because of this..." she said, her eyes filled with concern.

I sighed deeply. There was no point hiding the truth anymore.

"I can't believe Kim Taeyeon is actually in love! She must be really nice to be able to win your heart!" she teased and started giggling nonstop.

"Yah! Don't tease me! Everybody falls in love at one point or another..." I defended myself as my face started to burn a little.

"Can we stop talking about this and get back to dancing?" I asked as I didn't want her to tease me further.

She giggled and said, "Fine!"

"Ouch!" a familiar voice exclaimed.

I looked at the direction where the voice came from, only to find Tiffany at the other end of the room, lying on the ground in pain. Siwon just stood there staring at her like a statue, without even showing a hint of care in his eyes. Without hesitation, I ran towards her with lightning speed.

I squatted down and looked her in the eyes and asked, "Fany! Are you okay?"

"No, my kneecap hurts!" she said as I quickly slipped my hand under her dress and scooped her up.

I set her down at the bench nearby.

"Don't go anywhere, I'll be right back!" I said and ran back to our dorm as quickly as my feet could carry me.

-------------------------------------

Tiffany's POV

Even though I was supposed to be happily dancing with my boyfriend at such an important night of my life, I didn't feel happy at all. I can't dance. I didn't really tell anyone about this as I simply felt too embarrassed to. I never liked dancing, although all of my friends think I can dance. I constantly stepped on poor Siwon's feet clumsily and felt very bad about it. I could tell that he got more and more irritated with me whenever I stepped onto his feet again.

It also didn't help when my mind was on someone else the whole entire time. I haven't seen her since yesterday and it was simply killing me.  Although it had only been a day without her, I missed her so much. Just then, I spotted a familiar girl in a blue t-shirt with a new checkess shirt over her t-shirt that I have never seen before, and her favourite white shorts. A smile grew on my face as soon as I realized who she was.

"Taeyeon! She looks so cool in that shirt with the checkess shirt over it!" I thought as I couldn't stop myself from staring at her.

Then, my eyes wandered around her and landed on the girl next to her, Taeyeon's date. I watched her as she pulled Taeyeon closer to her and danced with her.

"Why is Taeyeon having such a great time with that girl? Who is she, anyway?!" I thought as I looked at them, having such a great time together.

"Wait! Hwang Mi Young! Are you.....j...jea.....jealous????" I thought as my eyes widened.

I was so deep in thought that I accidentally tripped over Siwon's foot, fell forward and landed heavily on my knee.

"Ouch!" I shrieked.

Before I knew it, I was already on the ground with blood oozing out of my knee cap uncontrollably. It was so painful that I couldn't even stand up. Siwon was too shocked to even react, he just simply looked at me in shock and didn't know what to do. Just then, I heard heavy footsteps getting louder and louder as Taeyeon appeared infront of me out of the blue. I don't know why but I instantly calmed down when I saw her face.

She squatted down and looked into my eyes worriedly and asked, "Fany! Are you okay?"

"No, my kneecap hurts!" I answered as I bit onto my lip.

She reached under my dress and scooped me up, carried me to the nearest bench at the side of the hall and set me down gently.

"Don't go anywhere, I'll be right back!" she said as I nodded before she sprinted away and vanished behind the doors.

I just sat there obediently and waited for her to come back for me.

Siwon walked over and said, "Hey babe, are you okay? I'm so sorry, I was just so shocked that I didn't know how to react. I have to go for basketball practice now, I'm so sorry. Don't worry, I'll only practice for two hours before returning, okay?"

"I'm fine," I lied and continued, "I know, it happened too fast for you to catch me anyway. Don't worry about me, go for your practice now before you are late!"

"Thanks babe, love you! Take care, okay?" he asked as he gave me a quick peck on the lips.

I smiled and replied, "Love you too!"

He smiled back and left the hall immediately, leaving me there all alone, with my injured knee still bleeding non-stop. I looked at my injury as I noticed how much blood was oozing out of it. I never thought it would be this painful. The pain increased as time went by. I was frantically looking around for the missing girl as I couldn't stand it anymore.

At the other end of the hall, I heard loud and quick footsteps getting louder and louder as Taeyeon appeared out of nowhere carrying her school bag. She put down her bag, bent down infront of me as she fished out a packet of tissue paper from her pocket, took out a piece and wiped the blood that had dripped to my ankle, by the time she came back for me. She took out another piece of white clot and looked at me with worry in her eyes.

"This might hurt abit...." she said as I nodded slowly.

I grabbed onto Taeyeon's arm as I took a deep breath before nodding again, signalling her to proceed on with the next step.  Then, she folded the cloth into half and pressed it on my injury. Instantly, stinging pain struck my wound as I bit on my lip and grabbed tightly onto Taeyeon's arm.

"Ah! Taetae! It hurts!!!" I exclaimed as it was more painful than before.

"I know but I have to do this to stop the bleeding. I have to do this for about 15 minutes," she said as my jaw dropped.

"15 minutes?! I can't take the pain, Taetae!" I exclaimed as I was about to cry.

"Just hang on! You can grab onto me if it really hurts that badly! I need to it to stop bleeding before I can take it off," she said as I nodded and grabbed onto her arm twice as tightly as before.

------------------------------------------

Author's POV

The truth was, it hurt Taeyeon twice as badly as Tiffany as she looked at her lover suffering infront of her and she could not do anything to help her. She felt useless.

"Grr....Fany's suffering so badly but I can't do anything to help her....How pathetic, Kim Taeyeon..." she thought as she looked at her angel in pain.

"If only I was beside you, I could have caught you, you would not have fallen and got injured.... And that jerk! What was he doing?! Nothing! He just stood there like a statue, without even offering help or showing a bit of care when you fell.....Grr! Stupid jerk! It's all your fault! What kind of boyfriend are you!..." she thought but snapped out of her deep thought as soon as she felt Tiffany's grab becoming tighter and tigher.

Taeyeon looked at her, only to find a frown forming on her face as she bit tightly onto her lip. She really looked like she was in alot of pain. All she could do was to look at her angel in pain and wish that the pain will go away as soon as possible. She knew how much tonight meant to Tiffany and she wanted her to enjoy it instead of having a bad time.

After a good ten minutes, she realized that Tiffany's grab was not as tight as before and she did not seem to be in pain that much as before, even though she still was. She gently lifted the cloth to check whether the wound stopped bleeding. Fortunately, it finally did.  Knowing this, she took out her water bottle from her bag, opened it, poured some of the water on Tiffany's kneecap to clean the wound.

After that, she applied some antibiotic ointment and covered it with sterile gauze bandaging. It hurt so much that Tiffany twitched when the ointment came in contact with her wound.

-----------------------------------------------------

While Taeyeon was applying the ointment onto Tiffany's wound, they didn't notice that someone was watching them the entire time.

"Kim Taeyeon....I can't believe how much you've changed after getting into high school! Falling in love and now, caring so much for that girl!" she thought as she couldn't help but laugh.

However, it struck Nicole. She knew her friend too well.

"Oh no! Taeyeon would just walk back to me right after she has taken cared of Tiffany's wound even though she wants to stay with her so badly. I need to think of something to let her stay with Tiffany longer.....but...what?" she thought.

"Hmmm......I've got it!" she thought as she smirked to herself.

"Taeyeon! Hurry up! Come and dance with me now!" I commanded as loud as possible so she would be able to hear me from the other side of the hall, hoping that her plan would succeed.

Taeyeon looked back at the injured girl and then to Nicole again, she knew she had to go back to Nicole now but felt bad to leave Tiffany by herself in this state. She was in a dilemma and didn't know what to do.

"Should I go? Or should I stay? Kim Taeyeon! Think!" she thought.

"Taeyeon! Come on! What's taking you so long?!" Nicole shouted, trying to pressure her even more.

Tiffany bit onto her lip, she also didn't want her dormmate to leave. She wanted to spend this special night with her and nobody else.

Taeyeon has finally made her decision. Taeyeon turned back to face her lover, looked into Tiffany's eyes and said, "I'm sorry, Fany. I have to go now. Take care of yourself, okay?"

Taeyeon turned and reluctantly walked towards Nicole. Being jealous, Tiffany stood up immediately despite the pain and grabbed Taeyeon's wrist just tight enough to stop the girl from moving any further.

"Taetae, please don't leave me! Siwon has left for training and he'll only be back in a few hours' time. Please just stay with me. I don't wanna sit here alone with an injured leg....Please Taetae...." she pleaded, with sadness in her eyes.

Tiffany looked so sincere that Taeyeon couldn't possibly say no to her angel. Besides, she was more than happy to be able to spend the rest of the night with Tiffany, atleast until Siwon returns from training.

"Okay, I'll stay....but only until Siwon comes back from training," she replied as an eye smile appeared on the injured girl's face.

"Thanks Taetae, you're the best!" she said as she gave the girl a quick squeeze.

They then sat down together on the bench as they watched the other couples dancing and having a great time together. Nicole, who was watching them from afar, smirked again.

"Mission complete!" she thought as she flashed a proud grin on her face.

"Good luck, Taeyeon!" she thought while going to the tents on left side of the hall for some snacks, she was simply starving.

---------------------------------------------

Taeyeon's POV

I felt bad for turning Nicole down, after asking her to be my date for tonight. However, I knew that I would never leave injured Tiffany by herself, so I had no choice. Just then, I felt a weight on my shoulder, I turned to my right and found my angel resting her head on my shoulder as she wrapped her left hand around my right arm.

"So....How's your night? Fun? Exciting?" I asked as her smile turned upside down.

"Not really...More like a disaster night..." she said with a soft sigh.

"What happened?" I asked even though I knew what exactly happened.

"Well....I...can't .... dance...." she stuttered and kept her head down.

The way she said it was so cute that I couldn't help but giggle.

"I kept on stepping onto poor Siwon's foot and he seemed to get more agitated with me everytime I stepped on it again...and now I have tripped over his foot and got a nasty injury...I was so excited when the principal told us about this prom...I was looking forward to it all week...I never imagined it would turn out to be such a disaster..." she said and pouted cutely.

"Well....Atleast I'm here with you, right?" I asked with a gentle smile.

"Yeah! Thanks so much, Taetae! You're the best!" she said as I smiled dorkily at her, making her giggle.

I wrapped my arm around my lover as she leaned closer to me and rested her head on my shoulder again.

"Does it still hurt very badly?" I asked, pointing at her wound.

Tiffany turned to face me as she looked into my eyes and said, "No, not as much anymore."

I couldn't help but smile at her reply. I was glad she wasn't in as much pain as before.

-----------------------------------------

Tiffany's POV

Although tonight didn't turn out to be what I had expected, I was still glad that I have Taeyeon by my side. I am so grateful to have Taeyeon coming to my rescue just now when Siwon, my very own boyfriend, just stood there, too shocked to move.

Taeyeon wrapped her right hand around me as I leaned towards her and rested my head onto her shoulder again. I felt safe again whenever I was with Taeyeon. She was the only person on Earth that could make me feel that way, not even Siwon could. Although my wound was still hurting, it was as if like magic, it didn't seem to hurt as much as before, when in her arms.

"Does it still hurt very badly?" she asked, feeling concerned.

I turned and looked into her eyes before saying, "No, not as much anymore."

"...Not when I'm with you now," I whispered softly so that nobody could hear, not even her.

"Good evening students and guests," the anouncer greeted as the whole hall of students directed their attention to him.

"I hope you are having fun at our 170 th anniversary/ valentine's day prom! Now, we have planned a special hour for all of you. During this special hour, you can get to dance with someone who you did not come to the prom with, it can be your good friend or someone you don't even know, just not the one you came to the prom with! So, grab someone next to you, have fun, and have a great night! " he said as me and Taeyeon turned to one another in unison.

Soon, I realized a smirk forming on Taeyeon's face as she asked, "Would you like to dance with this dork?"

"I would love to but I can't...." I said but got interrupted by her.

"....dance, I know. Don't worry, I'll guide you. I won't let you get hurt, you'll be alright. I'll hold you tightly and never let you go. Trust me," she said sincerely.

I was worried that I would fall again but I didn't know why, some part of me believed and knew that she would never let me get hurt. It was as if something took over me as I reached for her hand and she pulled me up from the bench. We walked over to the dance floor. For some reason, my palms started sweating as I started to get nervous.

She stopped, turned as she looked into my eyes and asked, "Are you ready?"

"Ye...yeah..." I stuttered nervously.

She smirked and held out her hand and whispered, "Take my hand, and I'll guide you.."

Hesitantly, I reached for her hand as she took a step and pulled me closer.

"Take one step forward," she said as I did as told.

"Now a step backward," she said.

"Now, repeat this over and over again and you'll be alright...It's not as hard as it seems..." she said as she reassured me with a warm smile.

I smiled but did not notice where I was stepping and landed my feet heavily onto Taeyeon's foot.

"Oh no! I'm so sorry, Taetae! I didn't mean to...."I stopped as I realized a smile forming on her face.

She did not even show a hint of anger like Siwon, instead, she smiled at me. I stood there, taken aback by her unexpected response, still confused.

"It's okay. It takes time, you'll get the hang of it soon...Don't worry.." she said as she giggled and I smiled almost instantly.

I was relieved she was not angry or agitated at me like Siwon. She said those words with so much warmth and sweetness that I couldn't help but melt under them. For some reason, my heart started beating faster and faster as she looked into my eyes. The way Taeyeon looked at me gave me chills down my spine. Her eyes were normally full with happiness but now, there was something else, something I couldn't read. She has never looked at me like this before, not that I hate it though.

She was so different from Siwon. Her every movement and touch was much more gentle and graceful than my boyfriend's. Just then, she pulled me closer, still looking into my eyes and whispered into my ear, "You know......You look.....amazing today."

My heart started racing as soon as she finished her sentence. I felt my face heating up, the more she looked at me.

"Th..Thank y...you..." I stuttered as she smiled.

"You...l.look...gr..great...t..too.." I stuttered as she gave me her usual dorky smile. It was so dorky that I couldn't help but giggle. She looked like a little kid everytime she smiles dorkily.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Taeyeon's POV

I couldn't take my eyes off of hers. The way her hazel-brown eyes sparkled under the light took my breath away. The way her wavy hair gently cascaded down her shoulders and her dress hung gently onto her shoulders made my heart skip a beat. She was perfect.

"I love you, my angel..." I thought as I looked deeply into her eyes.

It seemed like she was finally mine, Kim Taeyeon's, and not Choi Siwon's. That familiar feeling invaded my body as I enjoyed every moment of it while it spreaded throughout my body. This special hour with Tiffany is definitely the best 60 minutes of my life.  I treasured every second of it while dancing with my Mi Young. If only time could freeze, then she could be mine forever

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

TIffany's POV

Even though my boyfriend went for his basketball training, I was thankful that I could spend some alone time with my dormmate. She has always made me feel safe in her arms, like she would protect me with all her life, something only she can make me feel, and not anybody else.

I closed my eyes and pulled her closer to me. Whenever I was in her arms, she always had the power to let me forget all my sorrow and stress, and just relax in her arms. I enjoyed every second of having such a rare opportunity to be able to dance with her. She pulled me even closer to her, wrapping her hands around my waist as I rested my chin on her shoulder and we continued to dance in silence in this position for the rest of the night.

Suddenly, I did not watch where I was stepping, tripped over Taeyeon's poor feet, lost balance and was going to fall.

"Oh no! Not again!" I thought as I tried to get hold of something to pull myself back up but got hold of air instead.

Instantly, Taeyeon bent forward, reached for me as I landed safely onto her arms, with my body still suspended in mid air. Our faces were only a few centimetres away from each other as we looked into each other's eyes. My heartbeat increased rapidly as I could feel my face and ears burning the more I looked into her dreamy chocolate-brown eyes.

"OMG! Why is my heart beating so fast? Why am I blushing?! Hwang Mi Young! What is wrong with you?!" I thought as my face felt it was almost on fire.

We stayed in that position for a while, neither of us could move an inch.

It seemed like we were the only people on Earth. I wished time could stop, or freeze and we could stay in that position forever. That strange yet soothing and comfortable feeling instantly spread through my entire body as I kept my eyes locked onto hers, this time, only stronger than before. Without fighting back that feeling, I let it invade my body and enjoyed every second of it. I missed it so much.

Suddenly, Taeyeon broke eye contact with me as she pulled me to my feet again. I exhaled the air I unconsciously held in the entire time when I was in Taeyeon's arms.

"See! I told you! I will catch you when you fall and will never ever let anyone hurt you! I promise!" she whispered.

Tears began swimming in my eyes as they were dangerously hanging at the end of my eye, threatening to fall any moment. Without hesitation, I opened my arms, took a step forward and pulled the girl into my embrace. I could feel her body stiffening up in an instant.

"Thank you, Taetae. Since I was young, my father has often broken his promises he made to my siblings and I because he was always too busy with his work to be able to keep them. It has been so long since someone has kept their promises they have made to me. Thank you, Kim Taeyeon!" I said as a tear fell without a sound.

I felt her body relaxing as she wrapped her arms around me and squeezed me tightly.

"Don't worry, I, Kim Taeyeon, will promise to keep every single promise I make to you in the future....and will always be there to protect you and never let you get hurt," she said with sincerity.

"Promise?" I asked as she smiled.

"Promise!" she exclaimed and nodded.

Taeyeon continued to squeeze me tightly in her arms, making me feel like a sushi, not wanting to let go of me. How I wished time could stop so that I could be in her arms forever.

"Fany! I'm back!" a familiar voice behind me called.

I jerked a little as I turned around, only to find my boyfriend walking towards me. I have totally forgotten about him.

-------------------------------------

Taeyeon's POV

Only then,  did I realize I was back in reality again, and Tiffany was no longer mine anymore.

"What? He's back already?! Gr... Why couldn't he take a longer time before returning?!" I thought as my heart began to ache.

"Can I have my girlfriend back now?" he asked coldly.

"Ye..yeah....o..ofcourse..." I hesitated, slowly letting go of TIffany.

I looked back at Tiffany and said, "Fany ah~ I've had a great time with you today, even though it was short, it was amazing to dance with you. I'm going back to Nicole now, see you later. Annyeong!" I said and turned around, getting ready to go when I felt someone grabbing onto my wrist and said, "I've had a great time with you too, Taetae! See you later! Annyeong!"

I smirked, without looking back at the girl, reluctantly, I continued walking towards the other side of the hall where I have last seen Nicole.

------------------------------------------------

Tiffany's POV

"Siwon? That was fast....." I thought and sighed deeply.

Strangely, I was quite disappointed when Siwon returned so quickly. I was happy that he has returned but I did not want Taeyeon to leave either. Taeyeon walked towards me and said, "Fany ah~ I've had a great time with you today, even though it was short, it was amazing dancing with you. I'm going back to Nicole now, see you later. Annyeong!"

I knew I had to stop her from leaving but I did not know how. Instantly, I grabbed onto her wrist as she stopped moving further and said, " I've had a great time with you too, Taetae! See you later! Annyeong!"

She did not look back at me, reluctantly, I let go of her wrist as she continued to walk towards where she has last danced with her partner. All I could do was to watch her disappear from my view, into the crowd.

"So? Did you miss me while I was gone?" Siwon asked as I turned to face him.

Then, it hit me. I did not even miss him a bit while he was gone. I have totally forgotten about him when I was in Taeyeon's arms.

"Em...ofcourse..." I lied as I faked a smile.

------------------------------------------

Taeyeon's POV

"So? How's your bonding time with your Tiffany?" she teased.

"Yah! Don't tease me!" I said as she giggled.

"Haha! Look! You're blushing!" she teased again.

"Yah! Stop teasing me and let's continue dancing!" I said as I glared at her.

"Fine! But we'll talk about this later!" she said as I put my right hand on her waist and we started dancing again.

---------------------------------------------------

Tiffany's POV

I thought I would go crazy if I continued to watch those two having a great time together at the other side of the room.

"Yah! Kim Taeyeon! Why are you having so much fun with her?!" I thought as I sighed.

"Wait..... I am not jealous!!!" I thought and frowned.

"Are you okay, babe?" Siwon asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I lied as I continued to dance with him.

"You know, you have improved so much after I have left for my training!" he said, surprised by my drastic change over such a short amount of time.

"Well, Taeyeon has taught me how to dance while you were gone," I said and let out a silent sigh.

"Wow! And you have improved so much in such a short amount of time! That little brat is not a bad teacher!" He said.

"Choi Siwon! How many times must I tell you not to call her that?! If you call her that again then I'll break up with you in an instant, you hear me?!" I snapped at him as I was furious at him for calling the nicest person on Earth a 'little brat'.

"Okay okay, chill babe! I was just kidding..." he said but I cut him off, "Don't you dare kid with me when it comes to Taeyeon, you hear me?!"

"Okay okay, I won't do it again, I promise..." he said as I frowned when he said that word.

"Don't promise me if you can't keep it..." I thought.

"Only you can keep your promises, you dork..." I thought as I sighed deeply, looking at her while she danced.

"It's only been an hour but I am missing you so much already, Kim Tae Yeon," I thought as my heart strangely started aching.

-----------------------------------------

After the dance, Siwon stayed back to talk to his friends so I waited for him. One hour, two hours, three hours has passed and he was still laughing and chatting with his buddies.  I was so tired my eyes could barely stay open. I couldn't take it anymore.

"I'm sorry, Siwon. I'm really tired, I wanna go back to my dorm now. See you tomorrow," I said tiredly as he nodded and I walked back to the dorm slowly.

I opened the door, only to find Taeyeon already wrapped in her blanket like a cocoon, sleeping soundly. A strong breeze blew towards me as I shivered immediately. Then, I realized that Taeyeon has forgotten to close the window and it was raining heavily so the floor near to the window was wet.

"Aigoo! You dork! It's so cold and you can still sleep like a pig," I thought as I went over to the window, closed it and went to change into my pyjamas.

Then, I went to mop up the floor. After that, I went over to my bed beside the dork's, laid down and closed my eyes. When I was almost going to fall alseep, my nose started to become very ichy.

"Achoo!" I sneezed as I got up and tried to find my blanket when I realized Taeyeon was using it.

"Aigoo! And I've told you how many times to go buy one of your own?!" I thought and went over to her bed, laid down right beside her and covered the blanket over me and closed my eyes.

Suddenly, I felt Taeyeon's arm lifting up as it wrapped around my waist. I froze instantly, too shocked to move an inch. I think she has mistaken me for her bolster. My heart was beating so fast I thought it would pop out of my chest any second. Then, that familiar and soothing feeling spreaded throughout my body as it helped me to relax and calmed me down instantly.

Whenever I shared the bed with Taeyeon on cold nights, it just felt so different. It felt cozier and more comfortable to sleep for some strange reason. She looked so cute while she slept that I couldn't help but smile at the sight.

"Good night, you dork! I've had a great time with you today. Thanks for coming to my rescue and keeping your promise today! You're my hero! Sweet dreams~" I whispered as I closed my eyes and quickly fallen into deep sleep.

To be continued....
