"Wufan!" Kris’s mom exclaimed, running full-speed down the stairs.

"Mama!" Kris exclaimed.

Luhan, Tao, and Lay translated for Chen and Xiumin. "Not really, Ayi," Lay replied, calling her aunty in Chinese.

"Don't be so humble now,” Kris’s mom cooed. "I'm sure all of you have girlfriends! Well, except for my Wufan here."

"Mama!" Kris shouted again.

Tao spoke up, "Actually, none of us do, Ayi."

"No way! None of you guys have had a girlfriend after you debuted?" Ayi gasped.

Oh shoot, this is awkward. Maybe I should've warned mom not to talk about girls in front of Luhan.

"Not anymore" Luhan mumbled, dejected.

Although he said it very quietly, Kris still heard him. He didn't know if his mom did too, but she quickly changed the subject, probably noticing the uncomfortable atmosphere. "Now now, let's quickly get you guys settled in! We've got two guest rooms so four of you can use those and one person can share Wufan's room!"

The members quickly ran upstairs, eager to see the rooms that they'd be staying in for the next few weeks. President Lee had given them vacation time after working so hard for an entire year, and they ended up going back to Kris’s home in Canada. His mother was thrilled, and Vancouver, British Columbia was a pretty safe place for them. Sure, there were kpop fans around, but there wouldn't be crowds and crowds of sasaeng fans roaming the streets. It was far better than vacationing in Japan or China for instance.

"Hyung! Want to room with me?" Tao asked Luhan.

Lately, Tao had been sticking to Luhan a lot. The maknae was still feeling gloomy over losing his 'Mei Mei noona' and Luhan was the closest thing to Mei Li that he could get. That, or he just didn’t want to room with the baozi.

"Okay," Luhan answered plainly.

"We call this room!" Tao cheered, opening the door to the guest room next to Kris’s room.

"Then we'll take this one," Chen said as he and Lay entered the other guest room beside Tao's and Luhan's.

"Guess baozi gets the honour of rooming with me," Kris joked.

"Oh yes, I feel so lucky," Xiumin replied sarcastically as he followed Kris into his room.

After closing the door, Xiumin automatically started talking. "Well that was awkward," he said.

"What was?" Kris asked.

"Lay told me that your mom asked if any of us have had girlfriends during or after our debut," Xiumin explained.

"Oh, yea... I don't know, I think Luhan's used to it now. I mean, he's been searching for an entire year. trying to contact her in any way possible, but nothing's worked," Kris replied while taking his shirt off to go take a shower.

Xiumin let out a sigh, "I still feel sorry for him. And it feels so awkward whenever we say something that reminds him of Mei Li."
