Top drives his way to Bom’s house tonight, it’s their 2nd year anniversary and he plans to propose to her tonight – in front of his parents. Top had not seen his parents since they went abroad for business. They were scheduled to have returned this morning and he expects them to be home tonight. He planned this night and it will be full of surprises.

He has not mentioned to his parents that it’s Bom he wants to marry. They knew of him having a girlfriend but he refused to give that person a name. Apparently, he was saving it for this night. He wanted to surprise them that it had been Bom all along. He wanted to surprise them that he remembers now. It’s been years but he hasn’t told anyone about it. He found it unnecessary to tell people about him getting his memory back. He just thought tonight is different. He wanted to lay everything down for everyone to know.

He parked his car outside Bom’s house and glanced next door. Tonight, I’ll be the happiest man to ever live. Nothing can go wrong. He pressed the door bell and shortly after, Bom opened the door. She was wearing a little black dress and he found it perfect for tonight.

“You look really beautiful” he said as he continued to stare at her.

“Thank you.” She said. “Where are we going today?” she asked as she motioned for Top’s car. He took her hand and intertwined it with his.

“You’re meeting my parents” he grinned.

Bom flashed a very anxious look. She had not seen this one coming. She feels nervous to be meeting his parents like she never really knew who they were. Seeing her expression, Top became worried.

“What’s wrong, baby?” he asked her.

“Huh?... Nothing… You mean were having dinner at your parent’s house?” he nodded in response with a grin placed right on his face.

Bom could do nothing but manage her feet to move forward toward the house next to hers. She can see excitement in Top’s eyes as they move closer to their home. He pressed the bell and out comes his mother to welcome them.

Umma opened the door with a big smile on her face to welcome us. He looked at me and to the person I’m with and the smile disappeared. It didn’t miss my sight – I saw how her smile shifted into a frown. I had to think maybe it’s because she’s jealous that her only son is finally happy with his girlfriend and decides to settle down. Haha! I really can’t wait to see their faces when I propose to her tonight. We went inside and straight to the dining area where Appa is already waiting.

He too bore a shocked face after seeing me with Bom. I couldn’t help but chuckle seeing them this way. It would be more romantic if I decided not to tell them that I regained my memories. It’ll be fun if they thought that I still don’t remember her being part of my past but then still end up together. However, that detail doesn’t matter to me anymore. I would tell them everything and still, nothing will change. I love her and I want to spend the rest of my life with her.

(BOM POV)

The dinner was awkwardly quiet. His parents were gawking at me. His father looked at me with complete shock but couldn’t look at me straight in the eye. Every time I look his way, he would immediately look away. It was her mother who scares me. She looks at me intensely; I might have thought for one second, she wanted to strangle me to death. Top, I think, is the only person oblivious to the growing tension.
