*An excerpt *

Sitting face to face with glasses on hand and a bottle of vodka on the table, they drown their misery. With every gulp, their minds cloud every rational thought existing. Both raised their glass to toast whatever.

"For my miserable life after being dumped!" he said as he gulped down his drink to the very last drop.

"And me? for having a jerk of a boyfriend who doesn't even care about me!" she stood up woobling while putting the glass on to take a sip which missed and spilled onto the side of her face, down to her dress.

"Cheers" and their glasses clicked.

They laughed the night away deceiving no one but themselves of the pain that was truly in their heart.

"Ooooooh~ look at me~ soooo clumsy! Ha ha. I have vodka all over my body.. Stupid, stupid girl!" she said as she walked forward, swaying, to the person in front of her.

“Oh! Ha ha. You really are!” he said as he caught her falling on him.

“I’m sorry. It’s just…” she looked up and with squinting eyes; she stared at what’s in front of her. What a beautiful face - mesmerizing eyes, lovely nose, and lips to die for. She was inches away from his face and she felt like time stopped when their eyes met. She leaned in closer, truly lost with his stare, her mind clouding her thought probably because of so much alcohol intake.

Just a little more and their lips would touch. She closed her eyes to completely feel the sudden spur of the moment when he pulled away. He bowed down his head and cringed at the sudden headache. He swallowed the last of the vodka on his glass before he stood up.

He needed a second to compose himself – to clear his vision. He moved forward. He looked back at the girl on the floor with her head on the chair he was once seated at.
