“Are you ready yet?” he called her from downstairs. He had been waiting, like always, for her to finish with her preparations.

“Coming…” the girl addressed responded. She wasn’t that long; only, her boyfriend’s tolerance in waiting for her is so short that he always makes her feel like he’s been waiting for hours.

She stepped downstairs wearing a yellow sundress complimenting her slender body along with a huge lady hat and sunglasses. She stopped midway as she noticed her guy gawking at her.

“Do you like it?” she grins as she turns around and strikes a pose. No response came out of him, obviously teasing her. He just looked at her and smirked, giving the facial expression that somewhat says “well-yeah-that’ll-do”. Catching his modus, she played along.

“Not good enough?” She playfully frowned and then sighed. “But I wanted to wear something you’ll like… No – something you’ll love…”

“Oh! I know. I’ll just go back and wear something else… Wait for me, arasso?” she winked at him and chuckled as she turned her back at him. She knew he’ll stop her anytime soon.

“YA!!!”

…and she was right. She turned to face him with a mischievous smile but couldn’t help but laugh seeing him, standing with both hands on his waist, obviously not in favor of waiting some more.

“Come on already! I love it, okay? I love what you wear no matter what it is… Now, can we go?” he said it so fast, his patience running out. He reached for her hand as she descends the stairs and as they walk toward his car, he muttered some words, loud enough for her to hear.

“What you wear wouldn’t matter anyway, as it wouldn’t stay on you that long.”

He looked at her from the sides of his eyes as he said these words, waiting for her reaction. Indeed, he got one, or should I say several reactions when his arm burned from so much of her hitting.

It was an hour drive to the beach. They both decided to spend their vacation there after their graduation 3 weeks ago. He was driving and she would only look at him the entire time. I’m really with him… she would think. After that night that she confessed, that night a month ago, she still couldn’t believe that this person driving, sitting next to her, who used to be just her best friend, is now, finally, her boyfriend.

“Am I that handsome? You keep on looking you know… but I don’t mind though… please yourself.” He teased, interrupting her thoughts.

“Okay, then.” She just smiled at him and stared even more, making him chuckle as he looked briefly at her then back to the road again.

Being his girlfriend for a month now along with years being his best friend, she already knows how his mind would work. It goes same for him, making their relationship as natural as it could be. Though both are still adjusting to the changes in their relationship, they just go through it every day as if nothing happened. After all, what they were before with each other was often mistaken as a couple’s action.

They arrived at the beach moments later and as he pulls out their bags from the car, she had already run toward the shore with arms open wide, breathing in the cool breeze and smell of the sea. He smiled looking at her from afar. She does love the beach and he knew they’ll both have a really good time.
