Switch {Revamped} - On HiatusLame title, I know, very cliche; but anyway, you can play this song while reading this: f(x) - Goodbye Summer (It is unrelated to the plot, okay?)

Kai felt the chill run down through his spine. His heart was beating like a time bomb which will explode the moment she responds. He looked like he was about to receive a death sentence.
“You can’t,” Krystal said seconds later.
His world crashed.
“You can’t like me, Kai. I’m sorry,” she spoke in a whisper-like voice, “It’s unbearable to see my friend hurting, emotionally—”
The gym door suddenly flung open. “Kai! Sehun quit the Dance Club,” Lay interrupted bringing bad news to them.
“He quit what?” Her eyeballs almost fell out of its sockets.
In a flash, the nagging feeling she felt when Kai confessed vanished in her system and was replaced by Lay’s bothering news.
“He stopped coming—”
Before he could finish his sentence, she cut him off, “Do you know where he is? I must speak to him.”
This issue is way out of her concern but a voice inside her urged her to confront him. When she got no response from him, she ran out of the gym, completely ignoring Kai calling her to get back there.
“What came into his genius mind to quit the Dance Club?” she muttered to herself on her way to his classroom. However, he wasn’t there. She searched for him everywhere but to no luck, she can’t find him. Now, she was standing in front of the SAO’s (Student Assistance Organization) room…wishing he’s here...
Her lips curled into a smile when she spotted him. “Whoa—this is where you are when you skip classes.”
Sehun gazed up to her from the book he was reading. “I was excused, for your information” he stated blankly.
“It’s still the same. You didn’t attend Literature.”
She sat herself on the empty spot beside him. Teasing him has become her hobby lately. She likes it when he gives her his infamous blank face and snorts at everything she says.
At least, he notices her.
“What do you want, Soojung?” he sounded very annoyed. “Shouldn’t you be on practice?”
She ignored his question and rested her head on the table. “I wanted to rest. I’m exhausted physically,” she said weakly, “…psychologically and emotionally.”
Sehun couldn’t help but stare at her—unwittingly—for a few seconds. She decided to shut her eyes close longer to feel his unwavering gaze more. A flattering surge of emotions stirred insider her. She fought hard to suppress her smile. His presence alone makes her day complete.
“Very clever answer, Jung—but I don’t buy your alibi. Get back to the gym now before I drag you there myself.”
“Killjoy,” she mumbled, slowly lifting her head to face him. Way to ruin her feels. It’s unbelievable that she fell for this insensitive guy. She even skipped practice for him—how unfeeling!—her stomach suddenly growls making her blush. “Oops—sorry about that—how about we eat outside? I’m actually craving for some spicy rice cakes—”
“Skipping classes is against the school rules.”
“Eh? You’re such a geek—err—not exactly ‘coz you are a Dance Club member.”
“Were. Past tense,” he corrected her.
“Why did you quit?” she asked in a serious tone.
He sighed deeply and looked away. His expression was vague. “You won’t understand. Why waste my saliva explaining to you?”
She frowned. I thought we’re friends who could lean onto each other when we have problems. He seemed bothered. She wanted to help him but he won’t let her. She’s close to her but there’s a wall between them she couldn’t tear down.
“So why did you not attend rehearsals?” he got back at her.
Her frown changed into a small smile. I wanted to see you, that’s why… But that she didn’t say. “You won’t understand too—”
“Copycat!” he hissed causing her to giggle.

When Sehun agreed to Krystal’s plan, he thought she had the finest plan on how to escape the school guard. His jaw jutted down when he looked at the wall in front of them. “This is a very brilliant, Jung,” he said sarcastically. “Climbing this wall is inevitably impossible—”
“There’s a tree right there that we can use, silly.”
Aish, is she this playful? God—he can get into trouble because of her. She’s making his head throb. She’s a handful alright.
“Here’s the plan,” she stated. “I’ll go first, then you. But help me get to that branch. It will be easier to jump to the other side—what?” Her brows met as she watched his cheeks turn into pink.
Didn’t it occur to her that she’s wearing a skirt? Geez—and she’s asking him to carry her?—damn, how about no? He was too shy to even touch her.
“N-nothing. I’ll climb first instead and p-pull you up afterwards,” he stuttered. Uncool. Eww.
Luckily, she listened to him. The branch was strong enough to handle their weight. He jumped off first to the ground.
