The Prodigal Daughter*
Switch {Revamped} - On HiatusOn their first day at Shanghai, China, Sungmin invited Sunny to watch a movie. As they were strolling in the mall, she could not unnotice the eyes darting towards them—especially on Sungmin. He was a girl magnet. Every Chinese woman looks at him when he passes by.
The nerve!
She became irritated but it vanished when he held her hand all of a sudden. His palm was warm and she can’t deny the spark she felt when he touches her. It was like magic.
They decided to watch Despicable Me 2 in the cinema. She wanted to see the dorky minions and Agnes that’s why she chose it. He agreed to it anyway. They sat the center of kindergarten kids and laughed with them.
“If people won’t ask, they would think we’re also kids. We blend in, ya’know,” he whispered to her.
Despite the dim lighting, she could see his bright gummy smile. “Why? Because we’re both baby-faced?”
“Whoa—who told you that?” he .
“I am just stating a fact.” She won’t lose to him.
“A rebuttable fact?”
“Meanie,” she pouted, causing him to burst out laughing.
“What a baby, Sunny-ah—so immature.”
“Don’t rub it on my face, Lee Sungmin,”
“Oh—don’t get mad at me, girlfriend. Let’s go eat tacos instead.” He led her out and interlaced his fingers with hers. Sweet. Her frustration disappeared instantly. “There’s a meaning behind the way people hold hands while walking. Did you know that?”
“Really? How?”
He loosened his grip on her hand and simply held her palm. “Friends would normally do this. It’s like—for a ‘casual’ relationship. No strings attached—no feelings at all—simply friends.” Then he intertwined his fingers with hers again. “But this one—you want that person you’re holding to be by your side forever.”
She blushed and became speechless.
“There’s a strong force that binds you two—a certain connection. You fit and suit each other perfectly,” he added while staring at her. “It would be tight but comfortable since it’s your eternal love you are with.”
She would be exaggerating if she said she melted from his words but she did felt that. She’s like floating on cloud nine also. Her heart beat skyrocketed when he told her.
“Let’s make it real, Sunny-ah. I think I—I like you already.”

After practice, Krystal stormed off to the locker room to change her ice-skating shoes. She and Kai would be eating lunch with the clique again. She was giddy and happy for nothing. Her actions were swift that she was taken aback when she opened her locker.
A bouquet of red roses rested on top of her duffle bag. Who placed it there? It has a card but it was signed anonymously. So, there’s no way of finding out the sender’s identity.
She cradled the flowers only to find a pink box containing lots of Milka. It was sent by another person—based on the handwritings.
Omigosh. She had an admirer—oh wait—admirers? Somebody likes her. Hehe. She felt so pretty because of it.
She carefully slid the box in her bag. Those were her favorite brand of chocolates and only a few knows about it, not even her friends. Hence, she was so curious on who the sender was. He really did a great research about her, huh…
I won’t share these with unnie, she giggled.
She went out of the locker room with the roses on her arms and a smile on her face. She can’t wait to tell it to Sulli and Amber. Sehun too. OMO! What if he—
“Wowowow—seems like somebody’s got an admirer,” Kai while they went to the courtyard.
Their friends were already there and she immediately sat beside Sehun who almost jumped on his spot. Her smile went wider as his eyes enlarged. “What the hell, Soojung?!”
“I’ve got roses,” she said with enthusiasm and put the flowers near his face for him to sniff its sweet scent.
“YAH—ACHOO!”
She laughed so hard when he sneezed, Sulli and Amber joined too. A playful kid she was, she ran around to chase him and shove the flowers on his face.
“Stop it—ACHOO—Soojung—ACHOO—STOP!” His face turned red. It was so funny for the girls but Kai became alarmed. “Stop! Stop it now, Krystal.” He stood between them. “Sehun’s allergic to flowers,” he explained then faced his friend, “you okay, Dude?”
Sehun’s hands were on his chest and he was panting heavily. Not good. “I—Damn—I c-can’t breathe—”
Krystal was stupefied as guilt slowly consumed her. She even dropped the bouquet because of it. “S-sorry…” she mumbled. “I d-didn’t know…”
He still managed to scoff at her while wheezing—despite his helpless state.
“Here. This might help you.” Amber gave him a bottle of H20.
Krystal can only look down. She was too ashamed of what she did. She didn’t have the guts to face Sehun now—she was too embarrassed…too mortified.
“Sehun is sensitive to all types of flowers—it’s the reason why he doesn’t give roses t
