The Eye Candy*
Switch {Revamped} - On HiatusSunny saw a cute stuffed toy while she and Sungmin were strolling in the theme park. She wants to have it badly but she was penniless and unfortunately, he also lost his wallet.
Hopeless and desperate she was, she scanned her surroundings. Her eyes spotted a group of lads jamming with their guitars.
Brilliant! She faced Sungmin. “Are you into music aside from photography?”
“Well…a bit?” He said—unsure but she beamed at his response. “I can play the guitar and sing,” he added.
“Bingo! C’mon—kaja!” She pulled him to where the boys are seated. “Tell them that we’ll borrow the guitar for a while. Help me make some money so I can get that toy.”
Though he was confused of her real plan, he did what she told him to do. He translated her statement in Japanese. The boys were kind enough to lend them the instrument.
“You play it. I’ll sing.”
“W-what?” A smile ghosts across his lips. He was, again, amused by her.
“This is the only way we can earn money,” she whined like a kid. He was amazed to be seeing this other side of her. He always saw her as a strong woman not like this that she, suddenly, depends on him. He felt a warm feeling that soothed his heart.
“Okay.”
“What?”
“I said I’ll do it.”
Hurray! “We’ll sing Younha’s Strawberry Days. Do you know its chords?”
“I think…I do?”
She smiled once more and he took it as the cue to start strumming the guitar. When Sunny sang the first verse, they easily attracted a crowd of people. And just as she planned it, most of them dropped some bills and coins on the box she laid on the ground. They didn’t feel ashamed but rather, they put more effort in doing it.
Sungmin backed her up in her vocals so they’ve made a really sweet and beautiful melody. Everyone liked their little show. But most importantly, they gained enough money for Sunny’s teddy bear. A grin was permanently plastered on her face and she was hugging the toy tightly.
The sky was already dark when they decided to go home. They walked along the Sakura Tree Lane which was illuminated by the moonlight and lanterns.
There was a spark in her eyes as she watched the pink petals being blown by the wind. Sungmin also loved it—but of course. Isn’t it that he’s obsessed with anything pink?
“Thank you—” “I’m sorry—” They said simultaneously, creating an awkward and embarrassing atmosphere between them.
Yet this awkwardness made her heart pitter patter uncontrollably. Even he blushed because of it…

The past days were difficult ones for Krystal. Their tremendous practice didn’t do any good to her—she was so exhausted that her body was begging for a deep slumber. Yet she was dozing off now in class—during her most hateful hour, Physics time.
She found it boring and it didn’t help that their teacher was intimidating. If there’s a certain student in class that she likes to call for recitation it would be her—to piss her off…just like now.
“The answer for exercise number 5, Jung Krystal.”
She grimaced at the fact that she caught her sleeping in her class. Dang! Is there any other people you could call besides me? She looked at her workbook sprawled on her desk and her brows met. There were already answers on the blanks. When did I solve these problems?
“3.5 light-years?”
Their teacher seemed unconvinced but nevertheless, she said correct. Krystal, then, examined the book once she sat down. It wasn’t hers. When she looked at the cover page, she read Sehun’s name on it.
No way… She, definitely, can’t owe him. But… she sighed. I don’t want to feel guilty for not thanking him. She won’t let her conscience be bugged by it.
That’s why, on a post-it note, she wrote: Thanks…but why? She stuck it on the book and placed it on his desk next to hers.
Sehun glanced at her with his typical blank expression. She thought he would just ignore the paper but she saw him scribble, then he gave it to her.
You dozed off for an acceptable reason. If you get detention again, you’ll miss your practice…
Was he concerned about her?
That question made her stare at him as if she was examining every detail of his face. If he is, then why does his expression tell otherwise? He seemed to not care for her or anyone else.
“Thanks,” she mumbled.
He heard it—making him stare back at her. That is when the teacher looked at their direction and caught them not paying attention. “Oh Sehun and Jung Krystal, are you even listening to my explanation?”
“Sonsaengnim, she was just teaching me how she came up with her answer on the previous problem,” he made up.
What…did just…happen?
