The Sun and the Star*
Switch {Revamped} - On Hiatus“Jung Jessica, where are you?” Sunny muttered as she paced back and forth in her office. She had been checking her watch several times already while waiting for her. “Why are you late again?” she immediately said when a blonde girl opened the door.
“I’m sorry. I was caught up in traffic on my way here,” she responded while panting. She sat on the visitors’ chair and began removing her sneakers.
“We have a meeting and you are dressed like that?” God! She’s going to lose her sanity because of this girl. She’s the only one who doesn’t conform to the company’s dress code. She freely wears her civilian clothes.
The latter heaved a sigh. “Sunny, I just came back from my trekking and I had no time to go home and change,” she said while putting on his flat shoes this time. “Well—I could’ve if you didn’t rush me.”
“But at least you should’ve worn some decent clothes—” She creased her brows while staring at her.
This friend of hers was a hardcore wanderer. Almost half of her life was spent checking out different places and trying out new adventures; but she can depend on her when she needed help. That’s what she liked about Jessica. If she only had time, she can join in her escapades.
But she can’t. Blame everything to her cousin who is missing in action. He took away his happiness.
She tilted her head to forget what she was thinking. “We’re here to talk to the new investors—”
“And I’m not your employee. I’m just helping you out,” she retorted frankly.
Sunny only gaped at her. Oh Jessica, what am I to do with you? Yet she couldn’t complain because her advices were of big help to the company. She might look clumsy but she’d do amazing things once she becomes serious.
“For how long is the meeting?”
“I don’t know,” she answered while still watching her fix her hair. She made her office a powder room. Great…really great. She thought sarcastically. “Why? Do you have a date after?” she joked.
“Nope—but Sungmin-oppa—”
“Sungmin-ssi?” Her eyes widened.
There. She spoke the magic word that caused her eyes to sparkle. It was the only name which could brighten up her day and takes away all her frustrations.
“Got ya!” Jessica smirked then laughed. “Man—I should’ve mentioned his name right from the start.”
Sunny was caught off guard. She knew too well her weakness who happens to be her best friend. Jessica was expert in manipulating people around her.
“You’re so evil,” she pouted.
“I’m not, Sunny-ah—”
“Good morning, Miss Jung,” one of their employees greeted them.
“Hi—Mrs. Shin, you look dashing today.” Jessica smiled sweetly to everyone who greeted them as they walked to the Board of Directors’ meeting room.
She is ‘Sunny’ but Jessica can beat her in terms of congeniality. It’s as if she can light up their company more than she can do. If she is the sun, her friend could be their star.
Now that reminds her of her cousin again. He should come back now and take over her position—which was actually his. She only managed the company because of her grandmother’s request.

It has been a long tiring day for Jessica. She had to stay at the company until 10 pm to finish all the reports with Sunny. She can’t leave her alone even if she was supposed to meet Sungmin.
That guy would scold me, eventually…
She punched in the code and entered her pad—and there she saw the guy she was thinking of. He was waiting for her.
“You’re filthy rich but I don’t understand why you like staying in this cozy apartment more than your mansion.”
Sungmin sat comfortably on the circular couch with his legs crossed. That was how he welcomed her home. And why is he here? Simple. He lives a few door steps away from her, so he could easily barge in her place any time.
“Says the guy who also left his parents and brother to live alone—”
“A guy should be independent once he grows old. You’re different because you’re a girl,” he stated, a matter of fact.
Here they go again with their pointless arguments. Who would’ve thought that they’re best of friends? It’s normal for them to tease each other that way.
“Do I need to say it again?” she complained like a kid and slouched herself next to him. “I won’t go home because Dad and Mom would worry more if they saw me.”
“That’s right, so why don’t you quit being a photojournalist and just focus on your company works?”
“Office work bores me. And if I want it—I should’ve handled our own business right now.”
“Being a journalist is dangerous, Sica. Join me in the studio instead,”
