Chap Thirty

The next day, Wednesday afternoon.

Luhan thinks he's going pass out the moment he answered the door.

A high pitched squeak that sounded like a mix between a dolphin’s cry and a crow’s squawk escaped from Luhan’s mouth but he’s too excited and happy to care about his unflattering first impression; in fact, he could just barely control all of the emotions that were erupting inside of his chest. The heavens must be playing a joke on him, the newly born designer couldn’t possibly believe his eyes.

And Luhan decided that he would never ever speak badly of Kai for the rest of eternity; the best friend was a god-sent miracle, an angel sent down from the heavens. Not only did Kai had gotten Luhan a beautiful studio apartment with an affordable rental fee, Kai had found some models to wear his debut fashion line.

Not just any amateur run of the mill models. They were nationally and regionally known rising supermodels, also they were even flawlessly gracious enough to model free of charge for Luhan, considering that it was his debut fashion line and the fact that he was the Kim Jongin’s best friend of course. Luhan is getting light headed and he is sure that he’s really going to faint when the doll-like models standing at the entrance start talking.

“Ladies, meet your extremely lucky to know me, client.”

Kai began with a playfully conceited introduction, casually waving his hand to Luhan’s direction.

“And Lulu, meet your models, this is Jin-”

“I know them Kai.” Luhan blurted out before he could even realise that his mouth was moving on its own accord.

“The one on your left is Im Jinah, or better known as Nana while the one on your left is Kim Hyoyeon.”   

Both girls turned to look at each other amusedly, chuckling lightly. “He knows us-”

“Oh my god, I don’t mean to sound that creepy, it’s just that I’m a huge fan of the both of you! Nana, I liked no, loved your recent runway walk at the Seoul Fashion Week and Hyoyeon, you looked stunning in the ‘More than words’ Vogue fashion spread.” Luhan took a deep breath before rambling like a fan who was overly excited because he had just met his idols. “To be honest, I still can’t believe my eyes that the both of you are standing in front of me. I have never imagined that I was lucky enough to work with you two, I have like… oh god, I’m rambling nonsense incessantly aren’t I? But you two really are-”

“I think they understood you , Lulu. So could we get on to consultation and business? Their manager is going to kill me if they’re late for their photo shoot later in the day.” Kai suddenly mentioned nonchalantly while stepping up to the shorter male and covering his face with a hand, pushing against Luhan back into the apartment.

The twenty two year old elicited a cry of protest, rebelling against the model because he was simply rudely interrupted. Luhan reached out to slap away Kai’s hand, but only succeeded in smacking his own face as the younger reacted faster by pulling away. Luhan winced in pain while Kai chuckled evilly, a smug smirk displaying on his face.

“Why the hell did you move away?! you, Kim Jongin!”

“Well aren’t you greedy, wanting my too?” Kai taunted cheekily, earning another obscenity from Luhan. “Yah!”

Restraining from speaking badly about Kai was a lot more impossible than he initially thought.

Hyoyeon and Nana had a feeling that they were going to be late for their photo shoot.

“Uh… so what are we going to do?” Hyoyeon whispered questioningly, nudging the redhead beside her.
