Soori’s POV

“That was pretty…um…horrible”, Soo Ri began, drying her hair with a blow dryer.

“It wasn’t horrible”, I said, noticing the depressed looks on Eun Suk and Shim Jang’s faces, “It was just…unexpected. Right, leader?”, I said, turning to Chan Hee.

“Yeah, we did well on that godforsaken slippery stage”, Chan Hee answered.

“Although”, she continued, “I don’t think we’re going to win any award since we were one of the last groups to go…The eleven groups in front of us didn’t have to deal with the rain.”

“Still”, I pressed, “Jewelry went after us and one of their members fell four times…”

“Wow, I admire her for standing up after the third time”, Soo Ri said, changing into her simple white dress.

Eun Suk sighed and put her head in her hands.

“Oh, stop moping, the two of you!”, Chan Hee yelled at Shim Jang and Eun Suk, and swatted Eun Suk in the back of her head with her towel. Hard.

Soo Ri and Soori winced when the towel made contact with Eun Suk’s head.

“CHAN HEE!”, Eun Suk shouted, standing up.

“WHAT!?”, Chan Hee shouted right back, holding up her towel again.

I looked at Soo Ri and we exchanged a not again look, when suddenly-knock, knock.

All the girls froze.

Knock, knock, knock.

Unsure of what to expect, I slowly made my way to the door and opened it…

It was GDragon, or Jiyoung.

“Everything okay in here?”, he asked, looking concerned.

“O-oh, yes, Jiyoung sunbae, we were just…”, I hesitated, looking over my shoulder. Chan Hee was holding a towel in a threatening manner and Eun Suk looked extremely angry.

“Chan Hee?”, Jiyoung sunbae said, hesitantly.

“What’s up, G oppa?”, Chan Hee, not taking her eyes from Eun Suk.

“What exactly are you doing?”, Jiyoung sunbae asked.

“Restraining myself from hitting the idiot in front of me”, Chan Hee replied immediately, without a thought.

I winced, expecting Jiyoung sunbae to comment on how unprofessional we are, but instead he just grinned and said, “Right. Have fun, Chan Hee.”

My jaw dropped. Is he approving what Chan Hee is doing, then?

I heard Eun Suk scoff, but I knew she was also surprised.

“See you, oppa.”  Chan Hee waved her towel at him.

 Jiyoung sunbae winked at me, said, “Good job on handling the wet stage and nice covering up for your member”, and left the room.

Whack!

I flinched.

“Ow!”, Eun Suk yelled.

Jaesun’s POV

We met up with the girls backstage before entering the stadium together to await the announcement of tonight’s best performance awards. Eun Suk was rubbing the back of her neck and Chan Hee was wearing an all-too-bright smile.  

My sister, Soori, for some reason, seemed scared. She came over to me and whispered, “Remind me not to get on Chan Hee’s bad side.”

“Remind me not to get on Shim Jang’s bad side… or Kyuhyun’s”, I replied, thinking about Kyuhyun shooting down Gongchan with her eyes… It’d been so-

“Oppa, watch out!”, Soori said, grabbing the back of my shirt.

“Hm?”, I said.

Soori pointed and said, “You were about to trip on those stairs.”

“Oh”, I said….and then I sighed, I’d been so clumsy on stage today… I’d slipped right when…

“How come this line isn’t moving?”, I heard someone shout from the back.

“Oppa, move”, Soori said.

I nodded and walked up the stairs, replaying my performance in my head and trying not to wince. Luckily Kyuhyun had saved me from completely falling.

“And third place goes to… f(x)!”

I smiled and clapped enthusiastically for my sister, Krystal. I went over to go and give her a congratulatory hug when I noticed Kyuhyun was already there, congratulating her.  I rolled my eyes. Fine, whatever. Go for the kid with the hot pink boxers instead of your own brother.

“Second place, Beast!”

All of Universe screamed their lungs out for our sunbaenims, who, truthfully, we missed already. Yoseob hyung saw me cheering and winked at me and flashed me a thumbs up.

Well, at least our sunbaenims placed…I thought, smiling.

“And first place….. goes to… BIG BANG! Please put your hands together for BIG BANG!!”, the MC yelled out.

Streamers erupted from above the stage and fluttered down to where we were. The crowd, or whoever was left of it, started screaming a fan chant for Big Bang. It felt so unrealistic to be there…

But they weren’t cheering for us right now…

My eyes met with Soori’s, and I knew she was thinking the same thing I was.

That will be us.

“All right”, our manager told us once we were back at our dorm. It was 11:30pm.

All the Universe Members looked at each other with wide, staring owl eyes.

“We’re going to England?”, Soo Ri asked, thinking of her home.

“We’re going to try out for Dream Team 3?”, Chan Hee asked, incredulously.

“We’re traveling to New York with SNSD?”, Kyuhyun said, wide-eyed.

“Fanmeet <3!”, Gongchan and Jaesun cheered happily.

“We were invited to attend the MAMA Awards Ceremony?”, Soori asked, amazed.

“Thanks for catching me the auditions for the new drama”, JiHyun said, grinning.

“Shim Jang, we’re in a dance competition”, Sky said, pointing his finger to the piece of paper. They high-fived each other.

“Infinite…?”, Eun Suk said.

“Why? You a fangirl?”, Kyuhyun asked, eyeing her warily.

“As if…”, Eun Suk said, looking away.

Gongchan smirked and said, “She only knows one Infinite member anyways…”
