6 hours before their first teaser release.

6 days until their first MV release.

12 days until their first CD release.

14 days until their debut.

Chan Hee had a calendar pinned up in her and Eun Suk’s room, counting down the days.

The teasers would start being released tonight. There were thirteen teasers in total.  Chan Hee sighed and stretched. She was starting to get nervous. The first teaser would be Gongchan and JiHyun’s teaser. Their teaser was a minute long. For the first twenty seconds, both of them were dressed as gentlemen; in crisp suits and thick glasses. They were dancing slow jazz together in a sun-lit street, with a quaint coffee shop in the backdrop. The last forty seconds were composed of them wearing black tank tops and black jeans with black belts, sporting eye liner, and dancing powerful acrobatics and intense break dance in water. It was a little dangerous because of the risk of slipping while doing front flips and back flips and handstands, but the filming had gone very smoothly. Chan Hee remembered how tired they’d been afterwards… but they’d also been so exuberant, so happy to know that this was going to attract fans worldwide…

And her brother’s debut was tomorrow!

Along with Baekhyun and LuHan…

She missed them so much, her heart literally hurt.

She traced the tattoo on her wrist…

Hold in there, she told herself, you’re so close.

[5 hours until teaser release]

The four Jung siblings were all together for the first time in three years.

“Well, who would’ve thought that our little siblings would have grown up so quickly?”, Jessica laughed, ruffling Jaesun’s hair.

“And when did we dream they’d be so threatening to our popularity status?”, Krystal joked, wrapping her arms around Soori.

 “I’m a little afraid”, Soori admitted, “I didn’t think I would ever doubt my own ability… but the expectations are so high, and I can feel the pressure from everybody. The Presidents, the other members, myself…”

Jessica nodded, “I remember what it’s like…especially right before you step onto your debut stage…I really couldn’t think straight, and my heartbeat was racing…”

“Well, I was perfectly okay on my debut stage”, Krystal interrupted, noticing how terrified Jaesun and Soori looked, “and my President, the mentors, and Victoria were all yelling at how we were going to fail the entire week before. And we’re totally fine.”

“Chan Hee yelled at Eun Suk yesterday, for not taking rehearsal seriously enough”, Jae Sun admitted, “It was scary.”

“I think Chan Hee unni did the right thing. Chan Hee unni was just trying to get Eun Suk to wake up because Eun Suk’s getting stage fright already”, Soori replied, “Eun Suk’s never worked so hard for anything… of course she’s terrified.”

“I walked into her singing by herself in the park… She was awkwardly singing in front of people…”, Jae Sun said, “I think she’s afraid of singing live.”

“Oh god, so am I”, Soori whispered, worried over her role as main vocal, “And the Presidents were pushing so hard for recorded vocals… if we mess up on our debut, they’re going to be so angry…”

Krystal grinned, “It’s like seeing ourselves a few years ago, right?”, she said to Jessica.

Jessica grinned ruefully and nodded.

But Jae Sun walked up to Soori and held out his hand.

Soori looked at his hand and saw a necklace there- a locket.

It was shaped like a heart, but it opened into a four-leaf clover. In each of the “clovers” was a picture of a family member: In one, there was Jessica at age 4, singing. In another, there was Krystal at age 6, dancing. Another, Jae Sun with his bunny on the first day of school. And finally, Soori herself, as a one month baby. Soori couldn’t help but smile. What she saw made warmth and sunshine spread inside her, made the fear scram from her veins.  

“Give him what you got him”, Krystal said, also smiling at the four-clover locket.

Soori pulled out a bracelet from her pocket, a dark metal bracelet with a thick, coiling chain, and in the middle was a circle with flowers engraved on it.

Jaesun accepted it and automatically realized that this too, was a locket. The circle popped over to reveal a picture of much younger him, accepting his bunny Chu from his grandmother for the first time. In the picture, Jaesun’s face was nothing short of”:D”.

Suddenly, Jaesun’s heart clenched. Holding his absolute happiest memory in his hand made Jaesun wish that his grandmother would have been here, now, knowing his hard work was about to pay off. Grandma, why aren’t you here anymore? Jaesun closed his eyes, fighting the sudden wave of emotions.

He felt a hand on his own. He looked down at Soori, who smiled gently at him and said, “She is proud of you. She is watching you.”

Jaesun nodded and took a deep breath.

[4 hours until teaser release]

Gongchan had just finished his daily run and was now back to worrying.

Worrying about the teaser release…

What if people hated it?

No, they wouldn’t, would they?

No….

He groaned and put his head in his hands.

He thought he could understand why JiHyun practically ripped his hair out whenever he got stressed.

“Hey, you okay?”, a voice called.

Gongchan looked up, and saw Sooyoung and Sunny of SNSD walking out of their own practice rooms.

“Ah, yes”, Gongchan automatically stood up and bowed to his sunbaenims.

“Are you worried? I heard your teaser release was later today?”, Sunny asked, both of them started walking over to him.

Gongchan was about to deny that he was worried, but he knew that his sunbaenims, who had known him since training, would see right through him, so he swallowed his pride and admitted,”Yeah.” 

“It’s going to be great, Gongchan. I saw it already, and it was amazing”, Sooyoung comforted him.

Gongchan just nodded.

“Oh, remind that charm we bought him a couple days ago?”, Sunny said suddenly, turning to Sooyoung.

“Oh, we never gave it to him, did we?”

“No, have you got it in your backpack? I thought you put it in there…”

“Check for me.”

Sunny reached into Sooyoung’s pocket and pulled out a necklace.

“Hold out your hand”, she told Gongchan.

Gongchan, confused, just did as he was told.

Sunny dropped a necklace into his hand.

Gongchan picked up the necklace gently and looked at it as Sooyoung told him, “ We wanted to give that to you to remind you that you’re the King. And to tell you to soar.”

It was a necklace with a glittering diamond charm of a regal crown with gorgeous wings sprouting from either side of the crown.

“We wish you the best, Gongchan”, Sunny said, and ruffled his head.

Gongchan smiled, “Thanks.” He watched his two sunbaenims leave to their own practice room.

As soon as they disappeared from sight, Gongchan gripped the necklace tightly and warily checked his watch.

3 hours to go.

Sky was just about to walk out of the YG building and go help out at his parent’s restaurant when someone called his name. Sky turned, and saw GDragon coming down the hallway.

“What’s up, hyung?”, Sky asked.

“I heard 1VS is debuting in 2 weeks”, Jiyoung (GDragon) said, grinning.

“Yeah”, Sky said, trying not to focus on the butterflies in his stomach.

“Right, well, as a good luck charm, I wanted to give you this”, Jiyoung said, and dropped a ring into Sky’s hand. Sky looked at it; it was a bright silver band with a black tribal print design. It was quite fashionable, but at the same time, very manly. Like Jiyoung.

Like me? Sky questioned himself.

“Hyung, want to give me some advice?”, Sky asked Jiyoung, trying to ignore the butterflies in his stomach that were flipping up a whirl storm.

Jiyoung looked at his dongsaeng, the one that had never ever asked broke down from his pride and asked for advice, and he smiled and ruffled Sky’s hair.

“Yeah, I have some advice for you.”

Sky looked at him, hanging on to every word Jiyoung was saying.

“Stop asking for advice, you don’t need it”, Jiyoung replied, and gave Sky a slap on the before he went down the hall, down to his recording room.

Sky shook his head and made his way to his parents’ restaurant, rubbing his as he did so. He wanted to sit down on his aching and take a break. His intense dance practice today had left him feeling quite tired.

But as soon as he walked in his parent’s restaurant, he found himself shooed out again- by his own parents.

“What are you doing, you need to practice!”, his mother hissed at him.

“What if you go viral before you debut?”, his father asked him, concerned.

“Calm down”, Sky said, slightly overwhelmed by how differently people were treating him today.

“But Daniel, son-“, Sky’s mother addressed him by his English name, something she only did when she was serious.

But even as she spoke, Sky’s father dropped something to the ground. He immediately bent over to pick it up, swearing slightly.

“Check that it’s not broken inside!”, Sky’s mother told her husband.

“What is it?”, Sky asked them, curious.

Sky’s father pulled out a necklace, a silver chain with a silver charm that had the word LOVE engraved on it in fancy script. It wasn’t overly decorated at all. A simple, beautiful piece of art.

“That’s a little too manly for mom, dad”, Sky said, examining it in his father’s hand.

“Well, good”, his father said, “Because it’s for you, Daniel.”

“What?”, Sky said, surprised.

“Ever since you have become an idol, we haven’t been able to understand your lifestyle, Daniel. You have always been on your own. We haven’t been able to relate to you and thus, we’ve never really supported you as much as we intended to. The only way we can show our support is if we give you things like this”, Sky’s mother said, putting the necklace on Sky’s neck.

Sky touched the charm gently before he looked at the both of them and said, “You have supported me. I’m ready for anything now.”

His mother looked at him with tear-filled eyes and his father gently clasped Sky’s shoulder.

The watch on Sky’s father’s wrist read:

2 hours to go. 

Kyuhyun had been opening the door all. Freaking. Day.

First, it had been SNSD’s Taeyeon and Yuri to drop off a good luck bracelet and promise that they’d be rooting for him on his debut day. 

Then, SHINee and f(x) had dropped by together after a photoshoot to offer him various bits of stress management on stage and they also gave him a good luck bracelet. Krystal had stayed behind for a bit to give Kyuhyun a Hwaiting!~ and hug him tightly once before she also left.

But not to worry, for five minutes later, Super Junior’s Eunhyuk was knocking impatiently at his door.

“This”, Eunhyuk said, giving Kyuhyun a necklace, “Has been in the hands of all the Super Junior, TVXQ, and EXO members, as well as BoA sunbaenim. Thus, it just overfills with good luck. I don’t even have to wish you good luck. That’s how amazing it is.”

“Even if you hadn’t offered me good luck, I would have been perfect”, Kyuhyun replied, but he couldn’t help but smile as he examined the necklace.

“Yeah, right. That’s what you think, right up until five minutes before debut”, Eun Hyuk muttered.

Kyuhyun rolled his eyes, “I’m different. I always have been.”

Eun Hyuk wagged a disapproving finger in Kyuhyun’s face, “Nope. Everyone always forget their lines and their choreography right before-“

“That’s it, go home”, and the younger Kyuhyun picked his hyung right off the ground and deposited him outside the dorm, shutting the door firmly in his hyung’s face.

They were the best of friends, but Eun Hyuk enjoyed teasing Kyuhyun far too much sometimes.

The doorbell rang five minutes later.

“I’m not letting you in”, Kyuhyun groaned, lying on his couch with his pillow over his face.

“You see, Mom?”, a boy’s voice said outside the dorm.

Kyuhyun’s eyes flew open. Mom?

Outside, the boy’s voice continued, “I told you he’d already act like an arrogant, a hypocritical, little-“

“You want to finish that sentence, Austin?”, Kyuhyun asked his little brother sharply, wrenching open the door.

“Kyuhyun!”, his mother practically screamed before she bear hugged him.

Kyuhyun staggered back, startled.

“Kyuhyun, how’ve you been doing?”, his father asked him.

“Great”, Kyuhyun answered, trying to gently push his mother off of him so he could breathe.

“Anyways, what are you guys doing here? Doesn’t Austin have school? Don’t you and Mom have work right now?”, Kyuhyun asked.

“Well, we can afford to skip one day to congratulate our son”, Kyuhyun’s mother said.

“We have a gift for you”, Kyuhyun’s father added, pulling out a flat white box.

“You too?”, Kyuhyun muttered, but he knew this gift would be infinitely precious.

“What was that, Kyu?”, Austin asked stiffly.

“Nothing”, Kyuhyun retorted playfully to his little brother, “and it’s Kyuhyun hyung to you.”

Kyuhyun took the cover off the box to see a metallic silver charm hanging on a black line.

“It looked… powerful. It reminded us of you”, Kyuhyun’s mother explained softly.

Kyuhyun nodded, his family still knew him best.

“I’ll wear it always”, Kyuhyun said. And that was his way of telling his parents thank you.

And they understood.

On the other hand, Austin stamped his foot and said, “What? I don’t get a thank you?!”

Austin’s watch read:

1 hour until the first teaser release.

“Stop it, you’re going to go bald”, Eun Suk slapped JiHyun’s hand, preventing him from tugging all his hair off.  

They were both in the boys’ dorm, having met each other on the way home (JiHyun from practice and Eun Suk from school).

“Aarghghghg, I can’t stand the wait”, JiHyun rolled over in his bed and disappeared under the covers.

“You sure you debuted before?”, Eun Suk asked, trying to keep the amusement from her voice.

“Yeah, but not like this!”, JiHyun replied, his voice muffled by his blankets.

Eun Suk rolled her eyes, “Get up”, she said, and she reached into the mound of blankets and JiHyun’s-er-textbook, and dragged JiHyun out.

“What’s that?”, JiHyun asked Eun Suk.

“What?”

“That bracelet. You never wear jewelry.”, JiHyun said, nodding at the newly appeared bracelet on Eun Suk’s arm. It had diamonds in the shape of an infinity sign and was held together by a small double strand of black leather.

“Oh… it’s my good luck charm…”, Eun Suk answered, slightly embarrassed.

“Infinity? Don’t tell me you’re a fan girl of Infinite…”, JiHyun asked.

“No, I’m  not a fan girl!”, Eun Suk hurriedly explained, “The infinite stands for unconditional.”

“Unconditional”, JiHyun said the word unbelieving, almost sarcastically. His eyebrow rose as if asking, “You sure you’re not a fangirl?”

“Yeah, like… like… unconditional love? Right? Family?”, Eun Suk stammered, blushing as she explained it to him.

There was silence as JiHyun struggling to keep from laughing.

Eun Suk held her temper for .05 seconds before she viciously pushed him off the bed, “You’re such a jerk! You make me embarrassed over NOTHING. I mean, I didn’t even buy this myself-“

“Who’s it from?”, JiHyun asked, sprawled out on the ground.

“Uh… Tablo.”

JiHyun looked up at Eun Suk in surprise, “Don’t you guys hate each other? I’ve never passed by your practice room without hearing you scream at him.”

Eun Suk smirked, “Yeah, well, maybe he’’s realizing I’m right.”

Suddenly the alarm rang.

Both of them jumped up and ran to the computer.
