Eun Suk was so out of it; so hung over, that she was stumbling through the JYP Entertainment hallways.

Was it yesterday or the day before that her parents had disowned her?

She just wanted sleep… sleep…

She felt someone jerk her backwards. Ow, she thought, feeling her head spin.

Then she saw the shoes.

Those fancy, shiny, black shoes.

“Hey Pres”, Eun Suk murmured.

“Look me in the face when you talk”, the JYP President snapped.

“What is wrong with you? What kind of state are you in!?”, he yelled at her.

Eun Suk winced at the volume of his voice.

“Not the best”, she replied, weakly.

“Are you hung over again?”, the President eyed her angrily.

“Course. Only thing I’m best at, apparently”, Eun Suk stared blearily at him. “Pres, you can disown me any time too.” She hiccupped.

The President sighed, exasperated. “Eun Suk. I don’t know what to do with you. I can’t give up on you when your parents did. I took you in. I’m somewhat responsible for your relationship with your parents.”

Eun Suk stayed quiet.

“Here’s what I’ll do”, the President said, decidedly. “I’ll let the world decide. You’re going to be the Triple Threat and Background Lyricist/Composer of Epik Love!. You’ve got the talent, definitely. But depending on whether you shape up or not, you’ll be loved or hated right out of JYP. Got it?”

Eun Suk merely nodded, tiredly.

“Go sleep. I expect you to be in top shape by next week. You don’t know the power of the media. You had better shape up while you can.” And he left.

Eun Suk made it to her room. It occurred to her as she pulled up the sheets around her that she was being trusted in, believed in, and warmth spread in her heart. But then when she realized she had no parents to tell the news to, that warmth disappeared as quickly as it came, and she slept, shivering.
