[Jessica’s POV]

I could hear loud voices booming from behind me. I tried to ignore them but they continued. I was too dazed to pick up on what they were saying so I reluctantly open my eyes turning around.

“Hey… what’s going on?” I question noticing everyone gathered a short distance away from me.

“So sleeping beauty finally wakes up. Even all of that can’t wake you!” Sooyoung teased and giggled along with the other girls.

That babo always teasing me! I was about to retort, but my eyes lock with a familiar face.  “Hey Sica-baby, it’s been awhile.” She waved at me.

I froze in my spot trying to conjure up words. “Yu..Ri?”

“Still a sleepy head like always hey?” She teased walking over towards me. As she neared closer she reached out her hand ruffling my hair. “Hm… did you do something to your hair? It looks different than how I remember.”

I quickly recover and give her a cold…but not quite icy, glare. “Yah, who said you could just ruffle my hair like that!” I attempt to brush my hair with my hands. “…And to answer your question, yes, I did.”

She gently laughs at my antics. “Ah your appearance may have changed, but your personality is exactly the same.”

Our reunion is short-lived as the group of girls awkwardly stood around behind Yuri, as Sunny interrupted us. “Ahem, sorry to interrupt your little ‘reunion’ but I’m going to go visit Tae, are you coming?”

I was still confused on the situation at hand but before I could ask, Yuri grabs my hand and swiftly lifts me from the couch.  “Of course. I’ll take my car. Let’s go!” she announces dragging me along behind her. The rest of the girls followed and from the corner of my eye I could see Sooyoung staring into space with a baffled look but shakes her head and follows everyone. Hyoyeon drove with Sunny, Seohyun, and YoonA while Yuri drove with Sooyoung and I.

The drive seemed very long and had an awkward atmosphere. I quickly decide to speak up. “So… no one has told me what the heck is going on here exactly, I mean where are we going?” I asked in a fluster suddenly remembering my unanswered question.

“Well…” Sooyoung and Yuri spoke up simultaneously then silenced themselves. “Uh… go ahead.” Sooyoung motioned to Yuri.

“Oh, well… we are on our way to the hospital right now. Taeyeon became hospitalized after over-exerting herself.” Yuri simply explained slightly glancing at me.

“WHAT? That pabo… I can’t believe her… she always… ugh! Is she all right? Should we go get her something?” I blurted out. Both of them seemed surprised at my sudden outburst. Although not many people know, I’m actually really good friends with Taeyeon. We aren’t the types to really express our friendship, but we get each other. Kind of like a younger/older sister relationship. Even though we are the same age, she still seems much older, and gives us lots of advice. 

“Ha, don’t worry Sica-baby… Sunny said that she was fine, she just needs some rest.”  Yuri interrupted my thoughts. I sigh a small breath of relief and noticed a pair of eyes staring at me.

“What?” I questioned the girl.

Sooyoung smiled. “Nothing at all Sica.” I gave her a weird look. “So… Yuri, you live in the dorm too?”

“Ah sorry, I suppose I haven’t formally introduced myself. My name is Kwon Yuri, I am VP of the Student Council, and your fellow dorm mate.” She kindly introduced herself.

“Ah, My name is Choi Sooyoung, I’m a new transfer student, and Sica’s room mate.”

Yuri glanced at Sooyoung then me. “What happened to Fany?”

I avert my eyes downward. “She had to move back to the US.”  I say in a low tone.

“Oh… well your new roomie here looks fun.”  Yuri smirked.

“Oh yes… more fun than you know…” I respond recalling the previous events.

Sooyoung chuckled in the backseat. “Have you two met a while ago?” Sooyoung questioned recalling our reunion.

Yuri spoke first. “Of course. We used to be roomies.”

I notice Sooyoung’s jaw drop a little. “I thought Tiffany was your old room mate?”

I shake my head. “No… well technically yes she was… but I was originally room mates with Yuri.” 

Sooyoung nods in understanding. “You must change new room mates every year huh Sica?” she asks.

I can’t help but smile at her comment. “I guess you’re right… I wonder who I’ll get next year!” I sarcastically exclaim.

Sooyoung places her hand on my shoulder. “Don’t worry Sica… I promise I’ll never leave you.” I thought she was just being playful, but there was a slight seriousness in her tone.

“Ah… if only I could have made a promise like that, hey Sica-baby?” Yuri asked still focused on the road.

I sigh at her. “It’s not your fault you know…” I try to assure her.  “…and stop calling me ‘Sica-baby’! It’s drove me crazy then, and it still drives me crazy now!” I say irritated.

“Awh, you don’t like it? Everyone in our dorm thought it was cute.” Yuri pouted at me.

“No I don’t!” I coldly glare at her, which only causes her to smile.

“If you don’t mind me asking… why did you switch room mates Yuri?” Sooyoung asked curiously.

Yuri glanced at Sooyoung through the mirror. “To make a long story short, I was just absent from school for awhile.”

I could still see Sooyoung wanting to further question, but I shake my head at her, keeping her quiet.

===At the hospital===

We entered the hospital and asked for Kim Taeyeon’s room. The nurses directed us to her and we entered the room and noticed we were the first one’s to arrive. I took a seat beside Taeyeon and she smiled at me weakly.

“How are you holding up?” I asked.

“I’m actually doing just fine, I could probably get up now… “ She attempted to sit up but instantly falls back down.

“Tae!” Sooyoung rushed to the other side. “Are you okay?”

Taeyeon regained her composure and slightly nods.

“You’re not fine Tae, stop pretending to be when you’re not!” I angrily scold the small girl.

“I’m sorry for causing so much trouble… it’s what I wanted to avoid.” She looked away.

I softened my gaze. “Taeyeon, you are such a pabo you know that?”

I observe the girl staring at the door. I turn and notice Yuri leaning on the doorframe, quietly looking down. “Yah, Yuri… what are you doing?” I glare at her. She raises her head in acknowledgment, but before she could say or do anything, she is pushed out of the way by a mass of people who gather around the single bed.

“Sorry we’re late Tae, but Sunny here is so indecisive about what to get you.” Hyoyeon explained, pushing Sunny towards the front of the crowd. While passing Sunny just stuck her tongue out at her.

“Well excuse me for wanting to get her something nice…” she said in a hushed tone.

“Heh, don’t worry about it… I’m not in a hurry anywhere.” We all chuckled and Sunny placed a small bouquet of flowers on the bedside table, with a card attached to it.

“Awh, they’re lovely, thanks girls… ” Taeyeon smiled.

“Of course Taeng, we figured it would light up the room.” Yoona explained.

“Just all of you being here light up the room.” Taeyeon replied causing everyone to let out a long, drawn out ‘awwwh’.

After some idle chatter… “Maybe we should let Taeyeon get some rest… and some breathing space.” Sooyoung explained realizing the 7 girls crammed up in the small, square room.

“You’re right… it’s getting late too.” Seohyun pitched in and the girls slowly began to exit the room saying their good-byes.

With only Sunny, Yuri and I left in the room; I get up and walk towards the door glancing back at Taeyeon whom Sunny whispers something in her ear then gives her a quick peck on the cheek before turning and skipping out of the room. Glancing again at Taeyeon, I see her blushing madly. “See you Tae, get better soon okay?” I wish her farewell and exit the room.

[General POV]

Yuri is the only one left behind and she walks up to Taeyeon. “I’ve always seen this coming… it was only a matter of time.”

“Yah… what do you mean by that?” Taeyeon questioned.

“You always try to do everything and play off that you can handle it… sure, mentally you can handle it, but your small body can only do so much.” Yuri replied looking down at the weary girl.

“I suppose you’re right… I just want everyone to be happy is all…” Taeyeon glimpsed at the flowers. “I would do anything to keep a smile on those girl’s faces.”

“So selfless… I admire that in you… but don’t make me look like the bad guy okay?” Yuri teased. “By the way, get better soon… We’re all waiting for you… especially Sunny.” She winked before exiting, leaving Taeyeon red and speechless.

---At the Dorm---

“So tired…” Sooyoung drowsily collapsing on the first bed she saw, which happened to be Jessica’s.

“Yah! Get off my bed!” Jessica yelled at the sprawled out being.

“Mnnmm…” Sooyoung moaned, only to get more comfortable.

“YAH!” Jessica yelled a little louder. “Choi Sooyoung, get of my bed right N-O-W!”

This time Sooyoung shifted her body over leaving a space on the bed patting down beside her. Jessica blushed slightly. “You have your own bed, go sleep on your ow..!!” Before Jessica could finish Sooyoung pulls her down onto the bed, eyes still closed. Jessica became redder as she tried to pull away from Sooyoung’s grip, but it was useless. She looked at the clock that read 12:54am and sighed in defeat. “Fine just this time…” Jessica turned her body away from her. After a few moments, she feels 2 arms wrap around her waist. “Yah Sooyoung!” Jessica attempted to remove the arms but this only caused Sooyoung to snuggle closer. Again, she sighed in defeat.

Why does my body feel really hot all of a sudden?

Could it be… no…

Perhaps I’m catching a cold… I’ve been feeling off lately…

Yeah it’s probably just a cold…

That has to be it…

Jessica’s thoughts trailed as she drifted off to sleep.
