Jeonghan

Nothing like a good ol' aquarium date.

As you waited in front of the aquarium, you couldn't help but to rock back and forth on your heels. You fiddled idly with the strap on your purse as you watched for the familiar sight of your boyfriend, Jeonghan. 

Not a moment later does his eye-catching light pink head of hair appear by the gate as you wave enthusiastically at him. You don't even notice that your lips had formed a sweet smile when he finally reaches you. 

"You're a little late," you huff playfully, "Did you oversleep again?" You watch as a light pink that matched his hair appear on his cheeks. 

"I didn't mean to," Jeonghan takes your hand and intertwines your fingers, "I know how much you were looking forward to our date."

"I'm just teasing," you grin cheekily, "I should be used to it by now, I know how much you like your Zs."

A sly sparkle appears in his eyes as he tugs you closer to his side to whisper in your ear, "I do like my sleep, but I'm here, which means I like you even more."

You hit him lightly, embarrassed. "Oh stop, let's just head on in."

As soon as you stepped into the first section of the aquarium, you couldn't help the little sigh of amazement. The tropical fish came in all shapes, sizes, and colours; you were particularly taken with the angelfish. 

You flitted from one tank to the next as there was just so much to take in. The clear water allowed you to watch the fish dart all around the water. Their sparkling scales were enchanting, the colours were only complimented by the bright array of coral and anemones. 

Jeonghan watched you with a fond glint in his eyes, you never changed. Although you had been to the aquarium before, that didn't dampen your spirit in the least. Your eyes twinkled merrily as you reach the end of the first area.

"Jeonghan," you called out to him as you beckoned him to come quicker. "They have a koi pool!"

The faux pond was made with detail, it was large enough to fit fifty people and was ringed with real rocks. The colourful koi swam lazily from here to there except when people dropped in some fish feed into the water. 

He didn't even bother to ask you if you wanted to feed the fish, judging simply by the eager way you were looking in the pond, he knew. 

"Here," he passed you a cup of fish feed. 

You smiled happily as you took the cup from his hands, "Thank you." You don't forget to press a quick kiss onto his cheek before sprinkling a bit of food into the water. You watch as the giant koi begin to make their way to you.

Jeonghan can't help but to think he made a killing. A measly cup of fish food for one of your kisses? That was more than a deal. 

"Hey," you nudge your boyfriend who had been spacing out a little, "That one is either really fat or pregnant."

He jolts out of his haze to see the pale gold fish that, true to your words, has a midsection that bulged significantly more than the others, "You might be right."

You hummed thoughtfully, "Maybe we should feed her some more, after all, she has other mouths to feed, right?"

Jeonghan chuckles at how cute you were being, "I don't know how you're going to get it to her alone though. She seems like she's having quite some difficulty getting to the food."

"Where's the irresponsible fish that got her pregnant? At least give her a hand, or fin." You berated jokingly. 

A smirk appears on Jeonghan's usually innocent face, "You know, I wouldn't be so irresponsible. I'd take good care of you." He says as he wraps his arms around your waist, resting his chin onto your head. 

You blush furiously. "Jeonghan."

"I'm just teasing." But he doesn't stop holding you until you finally run out of feed. 

. . . 

The two of you find some seats in the large stadium-like seats as you wait for the show to start. You don't have to wait for long for some vendors to appear, offering popcorn chicken and soft drinks. You happily purchase a box only to have Jeonghan stealthily take it from you. 

"Hey," you reach for the chicken with a pout on your face, "Give me the chicken back."

"Nu-uh," he shakes the box teasingly, "Aren't on a diet?"

You look at him as if he'd grown five heads. "Are you insane? I will never go on a diet, food is too important." You pause, "Wait, are you suggesting something?"

He looks at you innocently, "I'm not suggesting anything." 

You fold your arms over your chest as you raise an eyebrow at his antics, realizing exactly what he's up to. "You could just ask to share you know."

Jeonghan laughs, you knew him too well. "True, but I like watching you squirm."

You huff, "But really, implying that I needed to diet? Jerk."

He reaches an arm around your shoulders before pressing his soft lips against the shell of your ear. "Sorry."

You turn to poke his cheek, "You don't mean it."

He tucks a strand of your hair behind your ear, "My girlfriend is the loveliest girl in this universe and the only one prettier than me."

You cough, "Now that's just a lie."

Jeonghan smiles earnestly this time, "In my eyes, there's no one who can measure up to my love."

While he was distracted, you had grabbed the box of chicken from his other hand, "Thanks for returning my chicken."

As you dug into the treat, you don't forget to send a cheeky wink at an appalled Jeonghan. 

Sure, he liked to tease you, but no one said that you didn't like to do the same to him.

This was your all-time favourite part of the aquarium, you would never tire of it. 

The glass arc that allowed you to watch the variety of turtles and manta rays glide from right to left over your head always left you totally breathless. Not to mention the massive schools of fish that darted quickly from one place to the next. Once in a while you'll catch sight of a two-metre-long monster of a fish. 

When you reach the end of the hallway all while tugging on Jeonghan's hand, the massive circular tank gives you an uninhibited view of the diverse fish that were on display. It was a slow day at the aquarium, which allowed you to share in the stunning scenery with your boyfriend alone. 

The two of you spoke little as you slowly made your way around the tank. Once in a while one of the you would point out a particularly fascinating fish or something strange that had occurred. But other than that, you both basked happily in the wonderful company of the fish and your significant other. 

Just as you were about to pull away from the tank, a giant sea turtle appears from seemingly nowhere, it only stays for a brief moment, but it's long enough to see the pretty spots on its face as well as the fascinating design of its shell. 

"Wow," you whisper when the turtle leaves, "That was wonderful."

You turn to face Jeonghan, who's usually handsome face looked even more stunning with the gentle flickers of light that played across his features, "Thank you for this, I really had fun."

He closes the distance between the two of you by pulling you closer with an arm around your waist, "It was nothing, to be honest, seeing you happy makes me happiest."

Although the room was dim, an unmistakable blush appears on your cheeks. Jeonghan does not hesitate to lean down and connect his lips to yours. You respond enthusiastically by sliding your fingers into his hair and returning the kiss. 

Your audience just swims around aimlessly, uncaring of the goings on of the two humans who were seemed to forget that they were at an aquarium. You didn't have eyes for the beautiful scenery surrounding you because you only had eyes for each other.
