“How was cheerleading practice?” Momo broke the awkward atmosphere that tried to settle between her and her crush.

“It was okay; we have to memorize a lot of new formations. Also Sana got yelled at a lot today because she couldn’t stop worrying about you.” Mina replied.

This made Momo laugh a bit, she couldn’t help herself recalling at the memories of when they were younger and whenever Momo got into trouble it somehow ended up into Sana getting herself into trouble too. In one case Momo would talk in class too much and get into trouble, but that didn’t stop Sana from talking to her which resulted in to Sana having the same misfortune.  

“Ah I see, she worries quite a bit, so I’m not surprised.” Momo said still smiling to herself from the memory. Momo realized Sana was always a worry worm when it came to her.

“I was worried about you too,” Mina stated casually, unintentionally pulling Momo out from the flashback and bringing the attention back to her.

Momo couldn’t get Mina’s words out of her head now. The butterflies making a comfortable place in Momo’s stomach.

She was worried about me?

“How’s your jaw doing?” Mina questioned.

“Ah, it’s still sore. But hopefully by tomorrow it’ll be better.” Momo smiled, earning a smile back from Mina in return. “Thanks for asking.”

“Can I see?” Mina asked, reaching her hand out to Momo’s jaw.

“Oh my jaw? Um, sure.” Momo was getting flustered, she leaned forward and let Mina touch the bruised part of her jaw.

“Still, it looks like it hurts quite a bit. Kind of feels a bit swollen too.” Mina stated using her thumb to softly touch the bruised areas.

Momo did everything in her power to hold herself together, her and her crush were finally talking, just the two of them. Mina was genuinely concerned about her, it felt like a dream. A dream that Momo wished would never come to an end.

“I’m back!” but sadly it had to end soon, Momo heard Sana’s voice in the distance. But she didn’t look, she wanted to soak in every last brief second of her moment with Mina.

She didn’t know it but her best friend had observed the scene, and couldn’t help but try to end the nightmare that she felt like she was in. She couldn’t control it, she just couldn’t handle to see anymore. So she interrupted the scene, she felt guilty, but it was too much for her heart to take.

Momo turned to look at Sana running towards them, a part of her couldn’t help but feel sad Mina and her couldn’t have a longer moment. But for some reason when she saw Sana running towards them she couldn’t help but smile to her best friend.

While running to them Sana tripped over and fell onto the ground. “Wah!”

Seeing that Mina and Momo rushed over to the clumsy girl helping her stand, both of them laughing. “Sana.” Momo laughed. “Why are you so clumsy?”

Sana let out a sheepish smile, “Haha, I can’t help it. And, Thanks.”

Mina nodded and Momo shook her head, “I ran laps after laps and didn’t fall once and you fell just from that. What to do with you?” Momo playfully scolded the girl while leaning down to brush the pieces of grass off of her knees.

“Looks like we are going to have to work on that since you’re a cheerleader now.” Mina joked, making them all laugh.

Momo ruffled the girl’s hair “Is that for me?” She pointed to the water bottle on the floor and Sana nodded.

“Thank you.” Momo smiled picking the water bottle up, “I needed it.”

“Well, now that you’re okay, and Sana is okay.” Mina eyed the clumsy girl chuckling, “I think I’ll head off first.” Mina smiled waving at the two.

In the midst of her running Sana called out to her, “Mina WAIT!”

This made Mina stop and turn back to them her head tilted in confusion.

“Momo, drink all of that then go change okay? I’ll see you after. I’m going to just go walk with Mina.”

Momo raised an eyebrow at her fake girlfriend. “Um, okay sure.”

Sana quickly ran off to catch up to Mina. “Let’s go this way, I saw the entrance by the vending machines were closed.”

Mina nodded “Ah, so that’s why you stopped me. Thanks. You saved me the extra energy!”

Sana and Mina walked together in the other direction.

If only Mina knew that, that wasn’t the reason on why she stopped her. Sana couldn’t understand why she interfered herself. If Mina happened to see them, then that should be Mina’s problem not hers. So why did it matter?

She looked at Mina who turned to her and showed her a gummy like smile and then looked away.

Maybe it was because of the fact that, Mina wasn’t someone who deserved to see it that way. She shouldn’t have to see that. No one should see anything like that. If the role
