Second Chances
When Wooyoung opened his eyes, he was back in the wedding reception room. He looked at the screen, where the photo had changed from the beach to the university rooftop. Taeyeon was also posing with a peace sign and held the Nameko soft toy Wooyoung had given her in her other hand. When he was busy looking at the photo, Junho came up to Wooyoung and put his hand on his shoulder.
“Even though you went back, it was of no use huh. I collaborated pretty well with you back then, didn’t I?” Junho sighed, and indirectly praised himself.
“Don’t talk as if you know everything!” Wooyoung leaned near to Junho and hissed through clenched teeth.
“Well, it’s definitely not so easy to change everything, right?” Junho said, giving Wooyoung a pat on the shoulder before going off to get a drink.
The picture on the slide show then changed to one where Leeteuk and Taeyeon were in a restaurant, and they were doing a toast.
“Hey, isn’t that Wooyoung behind in the photograph?” He looks like a ghost that follows people around… so scary!” Taecyeon exclaimed loudly. Junho quickly covered Taecyeon’s mouth to shut him up because he was so loud.
Wooyoung’s point of view
This day was one that I will never be able to forget. It was the day Taeyeon stopped calling me Youngie. I really missed her calling me that.
“Even though we have been so close to each other for so long, you don’t understand a thing, Youngie. You don’t understand at all.”
Those were the words she uttered to me, before meeting Leeteuk. She accepted his proposal then. Up till this day, all I’ve done is nothing but useless.
The lights suddenly went off, and the familiar bright light shone, and I used my hand to block my eyes from the piercing light.
“So you’ve chosen to take the most difficult path,” Minjun spoke, as he appeared beside me.
“What?”
“You tried to forget and do things on your own, distancing yourself from her and your friends. But in the end, you still chose this future where you still see her in her wedding dress,” Minjun said, before turning away from me. “I regret to tell you this, but your long journey is coming to an end soon.”
“Wait. What do you mean?” I said frantically.
