Jungkook woke up to the sound of gentle waves hitting the shore. He sat up, feeling groggy. When he looked around him, he realised that he'd fallen asleep on top of the lookout point. The bittersweet memory from yesterday still remained clear in his mind, he had even dreamed of Haewon in his sleep. Now, everything he saw reminded him of her.

His jacket she'd been wearing yesterday was now folded neatly beside him, while the cake they never finished was still left at one side. Beyond the horizon, the sun was starting to rise. The beach was empty and dim, except for one lonesome boy who sat on top of the lookout point, still trying to register that his girlfriend was gone.

Jungkook hung his head backwards to look up at the sky. The stars from the night before had already disappeared, and his shoulders slumped upon realising that the star he believed was Haewon was nowhere in sight. He stood up on platform of the lookout point with no handles. Remembering that Haewon had reassured him last night stopped his legs from shaking. He closed his eyes as he took in a huge whiff of fresh air.

Tickets for trains back to Seoul should've been available. Jungkook slipped on his jacket and started to climb his way down, unmindful of the metal structure shaking. Once he reached down, he stuffed his hands in the pockets of his jacket because of the cold. He felt a piece of paper in one of his pockets, and he took it out in confusion. He didn't remember having anything in his pockets before.

Without much thought, Jungkook unwrapped the crumpled piece of paper, thinking that it must've probably been an old convenience store receipt. Once he'd opened it, his eyes seemed to dim a little and a small smile took over his lips. Of course, the note had been written by Haewon. Although he didn't know when it had gotten in his pocket, he was sure that the writing was by her.

Don't forget me, Jeon Jungkook! But at the same time, don't spend everyday thinking about me either!

  <-- Me?

-지해원 (Ji Haewon)

"What a childish girl..." He mumured to himself, the tone of his voice coated with a hint of bliss.

Smiling, Jungkook walked aimlessly across the beach as his feet shuffled against the sand. The note stayed firm in his grasp, in front of his face while he read through it a dozen times until he got to the train station.

Jungkook was only half of himself when he returned to school the next day. At the cafeteria, he sat alone and thought about Haewon first before anything else. He was fine looking like a silent loner, but Taehyung and Jimin were like magnets and they were immediately attracted to the table he was sitting at. Jimin sat opposite of him while the former sat next to him.

"How was it yesterday?" Jimin brought up, snapping the younger out of his thoughts. "You disregarded all of our birthday messages for you and fled to Busan. Surely, something exciting must've happened, right?"

Jungkook wasn't sure what he could've told his two friends that would prevent them from freaking out. In the end, two simples words rolled off his mouth. "She's gone."

"I beg you to differ. Um, what do you mean she's gone?" Taehyung asked.

"She's gone, hyungs. She faded away in front of my eyes and I couldn't do anything. I wanted to stop her or something but I knew I would've been going against the rules of the other world if I were to do that. She was a ghost, and she needs six months to become a human again. I really want that to happen for her, so I have to wait." Jungkook poked at the rice on his tray with his spoon.

"I don't know who the other world works... but it's good that she's going to become a human again!" Taehyung chirped.

"Yeah, it is a good thing. Six months is kind of long though... I mean if I had a girlfriend, being away from her for six months would be torture." Jimin told him before giving him a sympathetic pat on the back. "Hang in there Jungkook-ah, time flies by really fast."

Jungkook pushed his tray to one side and settled his head on the table. He let out a distressed sigh. "But I
