Nineteen
Hello, My Ghost Friend
In her eighteen years of being alive and in her five years of being dead, Haewon never had the opportunity to experience what she was in the middle of right now. She'd found it disgusting for a long time, watching other people kiss always made her feel like kind of sick. Maybe she was just confused at how two people could kiss for such a long time.
Jungkook's lips on hers was the best feeling in the world to her, it felt like she'd just won the lottery. His lips were gentle to hers, moving as slow as possible so she had time to respond to him. The flesh of his lower lip smoothly brushed hers which sent shivers down Haewon's spine. As he did that, his hand was stably circled around her waist.
A rapid train of thoughts were rushing through Haewon's mind. Should I just stay still? How am I supposed to respond, do I kiss him just as lovingly too? She couldn't focus properly as the scent of what smelled like a fresh caramel macchiato filled her nostrils. High schoolers aren't supposed to drink so much coffee... but... I guess I can tell him later.
"Jungkook." Haewon whispered when the boy had pulled back, his gaze lowered on the ground.
"O-Oh, I'm s-sorry "
Jungkook's eyes widened when Haewon circled both of her arms around his neck before pulling his head down. His embarrassed eyes met hers, and she had to admit she found a flustered Jeon Jungkook adorable. The corners of her lips quirked up in amusement and a second later Jungkook couldn't help but smile with her too.
"What are you apologising for? Dummy."
Haewon pulled his face down again since he was so damn tall compared to a midget like her. Their lips met with each other's for the second time tonight. This time she was the one pouring all her feelings in this kiss. Her palms slowly reached up to place themselves on Jungkook's cheeks while she resumed moving her lips against his. So this is what being in love feels like, huh? She thought to herself silently, feeling her ghostly heart still beating at an uncontrollable speed.
After a minute or so, the two of them seperated from each other for a breather. Their bodies were still close, it was just their faces that went back to their original positions. Jungkook's face was back to being hard to reach for her; his height was like Seoul Tower.
The taste of coffee from Jungkook's lips lingered on Haewon's. "You know, high schoolers aren't supposed to drink so much coffee."
"But you like the taste of it." Jungkook watched her her lips continuously.
Hearing this, Haewon immediately sealed her lips together. "No, I do not!"
"Ji Haewon, you're cute when you lie." Jungkook teased, placing a hand on her head. "And, I didn't know you were such a good kisser."
"W-What?" Haewon grew flustered at his compliment. "M-ME?! A g-good KISSER?"
During that moment, Haewon's mind rewined to the kiss they had earlier. The two of them, her and Jungkook, kissed. A kiss was something two people did when they liked each other. Now, the big question was: did Haewon like Jungkook?
Haewon unhesitantly backed away from Jungkook who originally had his hands settled around her waist. Once they were at a considerable distance apart from each other, she swiftly pointed her index finger at him. "Y-You! Jeon Jungkook! D-Do you like me?"
Jungkook blinked at her, rubbing the back of his neck. "Then... do you think I kissed you because I hate you? That doesn't make sense, does it?"
"I don't think it does..." Haewon nodded slowly in agreement and Jungkook took a few steps closer to her, grabbing her hand in his.
"But it's really obvious that I like you, anyone can tell. Ask my hyungs, they'll be able to tell you. Whenever I reach the rooftop, I get excited at the thought of being able to see you. I get jealous whenever you're with Kim Myungsoo and I get worried whenever you climb trees and try to balance yourself on rooftop ledges." Jungkook lowered his head to meet eyes with her. "So, I want to ask you. Ji Haewon, do you like me?"
"U-U-Um, I-I t-t-t-hink t-that I..." Haewon's eyes landed on their locked hands and she started to get confused. "Y-You know, a-a-as I was s-saying, I-I, uh, t-think that "
Haewon was interrupted when Jungkook swept his head down for a short kiss. The boy had a delighted look on his face while she looked like she had just been humiliated big time.
"Since you look like you're going to pop, you don't have to give me an answer now." Haewon knew Jungkook was entertained by her since the smile on his face was still wide and fresh. "You know eventhough I don't have your answer, I think I can already guess what you're going to tell me. But even if you confess to me, the two of us know that I like you even more than you like me. Anyways, I'll be looking forward to your answer, Ji Haewon."
"H-Huh?" Haewon looked up to find that Jungkook was already walking away with his back faced towards hers. He waved his hand at her without turning around, but for some reason she knew that there was a smirk on his face.
Damn.
