Chapter 21 - The make up

The Heart

Twentieth day:

Ji Hyo walked to her apartment with a tired body. She had to filming under the rain last night and the cold weather did not help. She wasn’t able to get much sleep then she had to go filming again all day long. She tried her best to not affect the filming schedule but she was shivering all day long. Her body was heated. She seemed to have a fever. She couldn’t even walk straight.

It took her forever to fish the key out of her purse. Her eyes kept wanting to shut but they suddenly wide opened as she stepped inside her apartment. Her place was lightened up with all red candles and filled with hot pink and red balloons on the ceiling. A heart shape made from rose pedals lied in front of the fireplace surrounded by beautiful candles. It looked like the scene in a classic romantic movie.

In front of her, Jong Kook was in his best suit, knelt down on one leg and looked at her lovingly. He gently lifted her left hand up, holding it tightly on her right hand.

“Can you please forgive me?” – He sweetly said and landed a kiss on her left hand.

She looked at him, smiled. But before she was able to say anything, she collapsed. The fever won. She couldn’t stand straight any more. She breathed heavily then fainted on his arms.

“Ji Hyo, are you ok?” – He worriedly asked. He touched her forehead and it was burning hot. He carried her to the bed then quickly walked to the bathroom to get lukewarm water and towel. He took her clothes off and cleaned the sweat off her body with the warm towel then he used the dried towel to dry her body.

He went to her closet and found the long comfortable PJ to put on her. Her body was less sweaty as he putted the warm towel on her forehead. Her breathing seemed to get a little bit less heavy. Her eyes were still tightly closed.

“Ji Hyo ah, waited oppa a little bit. I go get the medicine and be right back ok?” He softly whispered to her then landed a kiss on her burning cheek and left the room.

It wasn’t easy to find a pharmacy that opened passed midnight. He had to drive around for almost an hour until he found a 24/7 pharmacy. He felt forward leaving her burning with fever at home alone. He rushed the pharmacist as he ordered the medicine.

He was totally over speeding as he drove back to her apartment. His car reached around 200 km/hr. He worried about her too much to care about anything else.

She was still sleeping safe and sound in her room as he came back. He gently walked to her bed and check on her temperature. Her fever did not seem to reduce much. He changed a different warm towel for her. Then he went to the kitchen and made rice soup. He waited for the rice soup to cool down before waking her up.

He helped her to sit up. She still couldn’t open her eyes. He sat on the bed right next to her. He put his left arm over her shoulders so she could rest her head on his shoulder. With his left hand held the rice soup, he fed her with his right hand. He carefully blew each spoon of soup to make sure that it wasn’t too hot for her. She opened as he putted the spoon in but she couldn’t open it wide enough. More than half of each spoon dropped to her body and some on his too. He patiently cleaned all the stain off her body. It took them forever to finish the small bowl of rice soup.

He cautiously cut the medicine to small pieces and fed her with water so she wouldn’t be choked. She coughed as the water overflowed on . He gently pet her back and cleaned her face then put her back down to the bed.

He cleaned her body again before tugging her in the warm blanket. He turned the A/C up so she wouldn’t feel too cold.

He went back to the kitchen and cleaned the dishes, putted the left over rice soup inside the refrigerator.

It was 3 in the morning as he checked the clock. He came back to the bedroom, checked her temperature again. It seemed to reduce greatly. He changed the towel on her forehead the last time then lied down next to her. He hugged her to sleep.

It was 7 in the morning, she woke up. She felt dizzy but less tired than yesterday. Her body was less burned. She opened her eyes and saw Jong Kook lying next to her with his arm under the head. She recalled what happened last night and smiled. She looked at her night stand, the bowl of water and towel were still there. She knew he must be struggled taking care of her last night.

She lightly got up to get to the kitchen avoiding waking him up. He seemed to have a tired night. She was again amazed by all the balloons in her living room. She was happy but felt bad at the same time. He putted so much effort into doing a romantic apology to her but she fainted on him before even saying thank you.

She opened the fridge to get water. A container of rice soup attracted her attention. She tried to remember, she believed he fed her last night but she was too tired to distingue if it was real or just her illusion. Now looking at the container, she knew it was real. He stayed up all night to cook and take care of her. She was moved. That man was still caring for her so much.

She went back to bed. He was still sleeping peacefully. She lied down next to him, ran her figure across his face. She missed him. Very much. She smiled as her hand touched his cheek.

He suddenly put his arm around her waist and pulled her closer to him.

“Have you been staring enough?” – He teased with his eyes still closed.

“Who stared at you?” – Ji Hyo was shy

“I can see even when I closed my eyes. Do you know that?” – Jong Kook softly said and opened his eyes. He putted his hand on her forehead to check her temperature.

“You fever went down. Do you feel better?” – He asked

“Still dizzy a little bit but much better.” – She softly answered as her eyes fixed at him – “did you stay up all night to take care of me” – She asked as her hand brushing through his soft hair.

“Only until 3 A.M” – He smiled.

“You shouldn’t do that. You must be tired. Are you hungry? Do you want me to cook something for you?” – Ji Hyo worriedly asked as she was about to get up.

“Don’t” – He said and held her down to the bed. “Just stay here for a moment, next to me.” – He softly said – “I miss you Ji Hyo ah. Please don’t leave me again.”

She looked at him for a while smile softly – “How can I leave a man that did so much for me. I’m sorry that I wasted all your effort. You must take a lot of time to prepare the room with all the balloons and candles right? It was beautiful”

Jong Kook shook his head lightly. – “Don’t worry about that. For you I can do anything” – He sweetly said and caressing her face.

“Then you forgive me?” – He hesitated asked

“I will forgive you for cheating on me but I won’t forgive you for making me gain weight. Do you know many calories all the chocolates and cupcakes were?” – She pretended to be angry

“I’m sorry. I will take you to the gym and burn all your calories out ok?”

“You made me eat and now you make me exercise? Just how much more torture that you plan to do to me?” – Ji Hyo frowned but she couldn’t hide her smile

“Then should I help you lose weight through something else” – He smiled devilishly as his hands start running around her body.

“Stop being silly so early in the morning” – She bit her lips, rolled her eyes at him and hit his muscular bicep.

“You can’t ask me to stop when you bite your lips like that. It was too y to resist honey.” He whispered then pulled her closer to his and pressed a kiss on her lips. – “That was the punishment for seducing your boyfriend when you are sick”

“That was kind of sweet punishment. I wouldn’t mind to be punished a several times a day.” – Ji Hyo slyly answered.

“Really? Then I am honored to be your enforcer then.” – He smiled then land another kiss at her forehead, her nose, her cheek, and then her lips. – “I will leave the punishment to this level since you are sick but I won’t let it sly next time.” He winked and smiled sweetly at her.

She buried her head on his chest, inhaling his scent, the scent of skin and sweat, the unique scent that only he had. She missed it so much.

She felt at peace and happy, she felt back asleep in his arms without knowing it.

He held her tighter to his body, felt her breath blowing to his chest. He missed that badly. He smiled as she sleeping peacefully in his arms. He gently caressed her hair. He wished time could stop right there. The world could stop spinning. He was rather to be frozen at that moment with her by his side. He wouldn’t need anything else, only she in this world was enough.

The last few weeks without her were torture to him. He did not have appetize and couldn’t sleep. He lost so much weight after their break up. He couldn’t even concentrate on his work. All he could think about was her.

Now she was in his arm, sleeping peacefully, he couldn’t wish for more. It was the first time after a while his heart felt at peace again

“Please don’t leave me again yeobo. I will never hurt you again.” – He whispered and kissed her hair gently

Chapter 54: Such a beautiful story. Very well made. Got me laughing and crying. Because it was so balanced, I even doubted at first if this is really a Spartace story or not or if this will end happy or not. It was unpredictable. Your authorship really sewed the story well together.

Thank you so much, authornim. More power to you. Spartace forever! ;)

Chapter 36: OMG dear, I've just read this story of yours today. & I can't stop reading. I wish i've read this earlier, way earlier, right when you are in the middle of it. So I can drop comments, loves & all my feeling in here at the right time.. I don't know how many times have I cried before reaching this chapter. & I didn't even know what I cried for at certain scenes. My heart just know that it is the right times for my tears to make appearance. I even have butterflies dancing all over me for the joy I feels. & the facts that I just halfway through this story just make me overwhelmed. I'm crying at this chapter but, I stopped in the middle because I think that I must really thank you for this story. When I first read this story this morning, I really want to say something, but the urge to know what will happens at the next chapter is killing me. I keep saying later.. Later.. I will later. But i've been dragged to far until now. I am a great fan of running man especially Ji hyo & you just made my day with this story. I can't thanks you more. I love this story no matter how it will end. I know it's completed already, I can skipped to the final chapter to know what the ending is. But I want to live the journey so, I'll pass. Owhh my dear author you are such a romantic person. A very wise romantic person. I love all the make up gifts & the proposal is awesome (^_^). Lastly but not least, keep up your piece of art because it is what there are (^_^).
