your arms are my castle, your heart is my sky
more first than sun, more last than star [CLOSED][♫]
Yoongi’s eyes fly open and he gasps, breathing hard as he realizes that he’s awake and tries to adjust to the pre-dawn darkness.
His shirt is soaked in sweat and sticking to his skin; his bangs are wet and gross. Swallowing, he sits up slowly, careful not to jostle Sujin too much, and slips out of bed to clean himself up a bit and change clothes.
He makes his way to the bathroom, pulling off his shirt along the way and making sure the door is fully shut before turning on the light. Sujin isn’t a light sleeper but light wakes her up easily. Turning the faucet on very low, he scrubs his face and runs wet hands through his hair before smoothing water down his body. He dries off and returns to the bedroom, rifling around for clean clothes and changing.
“Yoongi?”
He turns to the bed to find Sujin sitting up, rubbing her eyes sleepily. She yawns hugely and slumps over, her hair a hot mess and her clothes all rumpled. She’s clearly still exhausted but he knows she won’t go back to sleep if he doesn’t join her.
Quirking up one corner of his lips, he gets back into bed and gently pushes her down by the shoulders. “It’s okay. Go back to sleep.”
She frowns. “Nightmare?”
Yoongi nods.
Her frown deepens. “I’m sorry.”
He shakes his head, unable to help smiling down at her. This is why he loves her so much—even after a nightmare of his traumatic past, she can make him smile and feel lighter with barely a word. “Not your fault. Don’t apologize.”
She whines drowsily and tiredly spreads her arms towards him. “Come here.”
Smiling softly, he scoots down the bed and lowers himself into her arms. Her arms lock around his back and he holds her and flips them over with a grunt, so she’s laying on top of him, still hugging him tightly around his chest. It’s a familiar pose, comfortable. They always sleep like this after he has a nightmare.
His heart kicks and his soul settles as he feels her shift until she’s lying comfortably against him. He both tenses and melts when she tilts her head slightly and brushes her lips across his neck, whispering “I love you.”
His arms tighten around her and he returns her sentiment as his eyes slide closed, sleep suddenly creeping up on him now that he’s at home, because Sujin is with him, in his arms. She’s already asleep again, and, as he always does when they sleep like this, he dreams with a smile.
notes: Another update! Short and sweet. Also no kisses! lol
This one isn't a request (sorry!); I was just suddenly inspired. I realized that Yoongi would definitely have nightmares, even years and years later in life, and I just really wanted to write a scene that shows how Sujin calms him. It doesn't matter where you put this chapter in the timeline of their lives; it's vague because it doesn't matter where it goes; it's always true. :) Hope you like it!
I had such a dilemma choosing the title; I knew I wanted to use lyrics from "Everytime We Touch" (tbh I have a list of songs I wanna use lol so I'm making my way through them) but there were so many lines that I felt were so relevant. I finally settled with one of my favorite lines; it's undeniably corny but so, so true when it comes to TwoSu. xD
Also, I always have such trouble finding images??? Like I can never find exactly what I'm looking for so I just kinda settle on whatever after like 30 minutes of searching lmao. I try not to use faces if I can help it, unless they're BTS' faces cuz then they're actually relevant. If you guys have better images/gifs totally send them to me, I'll be so thankful. SORRY unrelated complaints lol
See you in the next one!
