Trigger
DauntlessYou know that feeling, that one feeling of watching something precious getting farther and farther away from you? You reach your hand out to grab it, to bring it back into your warmth, to protect it, only to watch it crumble in your grasp? That was exactly how Hansol felt as he watched Taeyong from his spot hidden in the shadows of EXO's building complex. His heart hurt, it trembled, and Hansol couldn't help but feel as if he making a mistake.
'Kill him tonight, Hansol."
'S-Sir?! What happened to holding him hostage o-or kidnapping him first? If he's so great, wouldn't he be a great asset to our force? W-why now?'
'Hansol, are you questioning me? Besides, you hate him don't you? Or do you want him to kill Tae first before you decide to kill him?'
Hansol's mind flashed back to last night's conversation with his "foster" father. He didn't want to admit it, but he was confused. His father was always right, and he was his hero, after all hadn't he saved him and Tae from a kidnapping years ago? So why was he beginning to question his father's motives. He hated Taeyong, despised him in fact. But why couldn't he kill him?
Hansol's mind flashed back to Taeyong's audition and the moment he began singing, was that the moment his feelings for the boy had changed? The moment when he no longer despised him as much as he used to? No matter how he looked at it, the boy was innocent, so why was his father targeting Taeyong? Even now, as Hansol watched Taeyong stare up at the night sky, he couldn't help but think he was a kid with an unfortunate past, if the depressed expression on his face was anything to go by.
Looking back at his gun, Hansol bitterly tossed it from hand to hand. It didn't matter if he thought he was innocent, not when his father called the shots. He had killed dozens of people before, so what was one more going to do? Releasing a bitter smile and ignoring the trembling of his heart, he raised his gun to his eye as he aimed the gun towards Taeyong's head.

Unlocking the safety lock, Hansol pressed his hand against the trigger and steadied its aim. Drawing in a breath and focusing on his surroundings, he increased the pressure on the trigger only to freeze.
Drop
He watches, frozen and transfixed, as a tear slides down Taeyong's glowing face. As if in a trance, he continues to watch as Taeyong blinks the tear away, looking lost and surprised as he glances at the tear on his finger, he looked as if he didn't know even know why he was crying. Transfixed, Hansol's hand falls to his side, the gun with it, as his mind flashed back to his childhood.
A childhood memory of Tae crying when his vanilla ice cream fell to the floor. The expression, the frown, it was all the same.
Genuinely disappointed and sad, as if your just remembering how lost and alone you really are in the world.
No, Hansol wouldn't be able to kill him, not when he reminded him so much of Tae as a child.
Slipping his gun back into his pocket, he took his camera out instead, hoping that a picture of Taeyong vulnerable will be enough to appease his father. It had to b
