            Don’t worry, HyeoEun-ah. Just take more care of Kyuhyun and try to keep him cheerful. Hopefully his schedule would distract him for some time.

HyeoEun’s POV

Junho-ssi was right. The goodbye stage kept Kyuhyun busy with the rest of Super Junior, but the next night changed our lives. Late into the night –early in the morning actually- Kyuhyun received a call. The phone kept ringing and I woke up. I guess he couldn’t wake up. As I reached his door, the phone stopped ringing. I pressed my ear against the door. “Yeoboseyo? Neh… Neh… Choesonghaeyo, noona.” [Music: “Even Now” by Sung Shi Kyung]

There was silence. I quietly opened the door. Kyuhyun was sitting on his bed with his hands and his face on his knees. He looked up and I knew. His eyes told me what had happened. “Haneul just passed away,” Kyuhyun said before his face broke into sorrow again. I sat at the edge of his bed and hugged him. Like a baby, he just cried in my arms. I got into a better position on his bed and the crying head in my arms. He just wailed and wailed. Tears fell from my eyes as I shared that sadness with him.

Eventually he fell asleep from all that tiring crying. I looked at the head on my lap and his hair. I leaned back on the wall and thought to myself. All that this man had gone through –accidents, fandom, death of an ex- how does he stay strong through each phase? I remember how worried we all were when he was on the hospital bed yet he came out strong.  I remembered how his personality changed after joining Super Junior yet we stayed the same. This isn’t just some event. Someone dear to him just died. Is he going to change now that his ex had passed away? My life changed drastically when my dad passed away. Surely he wouldn’t be the same after this. He stirred in his sleep, mumbling something. “Kajima. Kajima.” “Shhh shhh it’s ok, Kyuhyun. Nobody’s leaving. Everything’s ok,” I said as I gently pat his back. His anxiety stopped and he was calm again. “I won’t leave if you don’t want me to.”

When I woke up because of the sunlight, he was still sleeping. I gently placed his pillow under his head and tried to get up. Once I stood, I collapsed onto the floor after releasing a light shriek. My leg had fallen asleep after Kyuhyun slept on my lap all night. “Are you alright?” Kyuhyun asked as he sat up from his sleep. Bedhead
