MONDAY MORNING

*BEEPBEEPBEE–*

–sigh– Time to start being Chunji, again. For 3 months...

I slipped on Chunji’s uniform and put on the same “swag” I had the first time we switched and walked downstairs. I walked out the door without so much as a “good morning” or “bye” to my parents and walked to school.

–

“Yo, Chunji!” CAP greeted me.

“Hey, hyung,” I glumly responded.

“Why so down?”

“It’s nothing... I’ll tell you all later.” I walked past him and went to Chunji’s locker.

The first day slowly passes and no one noticed Chunji was different. I perfected Chunji’s actions from the way he talked to how he reacts and even the way he walked. One thing I did change, however, was the way he responded to girls. To fit my new ‘bad boy’ style, I started acting cold to the girls. I didn’t want to live as Chunji for 3 months if girls kept clinging to me. Surprisingly, the girls did back away. But they all still swooned over ‘my’ handsome looks. They seemed to be more attracted to the bad boy act so I decided to keep this up. Chunji won’t care as long as he’s still popular.

After I got my textbooks, I texted the boys to meet me at the courtyard after school, I’m going to tell them what happened.

–

“Hey Chunji hyung. So what’re we doing here?” Niel finally came in.

“Never mind that, why were you so down today?” CAP came in last.

“Well,” I started to tell them the story, “remember when you all met my sister on Friday?”

Everyone nodded.

“Yeah, I haven’t seen her today,” Changjo noticed, “I wanted to hang out, too!”

–sigh– “When we were walking home that night, a drunk driver was speeding and hit us while we were crossing the street.” Tears dripped down my face as I explained the incident. “Ch- Eunji.. is now in the hospital under critical condition and she still hasn’t woken up yet.” It having to lie about Chunji’s accident.

Everyone’s faces fell and were filled with sorrow.

“Do you know when she’ll be back...?” Changjo spoke up.

“The doctor said she’ll be fine but she has to stay in the hospital for about 3 months. I also got hit in the head... not as hard, but hard enough to make me forget things. So I don’t remember anything about you guys except something says that you guys are my closest friends.  But I do remember everything I learned in school...”

Ricky raised his eyebrow, “That is some weird amnesia...”

“Anyways, you guys aren’t allowed to see Eunji until she’s out of the hospital. She got hurt in the head so if you go and see her, it’ll just hurt her more.”

Changjo was astonished, “3 months?! But we just met her!”

“Exactly, you’ve only seen her once so you can wait another 3 months. You don’t even know her well so you can manage.”

Everyone nodded slowly.

“And don’t forget I don’t remember anything. So don’t even bother bring up the past. The doctor said my memory will me back in a few months though.” I stood up and dusted my pants, “I’m leaving now, see you tomorrow.”
