My Pretend Boyfriend

I was sitting at the small corner of the coffee shop waiting for Jessica.  it has been months since we last saw each other, some would ask me how i become friends with her first of all she was not my classmates and we don't share the same circle of friends.  she is beautiful and smart while I'm just average looking girl who always hides behind my nerd glasses.  well the only thing or person that connects me to her is his ex Choi Seunghyun

"Hey Yoong long  time no see"

"yeah its been months Sica how you been"

"Good I'm engage to Taecyeon now" showing me her ring

"Congrats so when is the wedding?"

"In two years but anyway have you seen Tiff?" she ask me 

"Tiff as in Tiffany?"

"Yep Tiffany as in Tabi's ex Hwang Tiffany"

Yes Hwang Tiffany a respectable accountant, beautiful and smart and a fashionista that how she and Jessica met, they went to the same fashion event, what a small world huh.  So anyway you maybe wondering why they are here I don't know also but I have a feeling its all about the card I received in the mail last week.

"Hey girls sorry I'm late the evil witch made me do extra work today" tiffany finally arrive

"Evil witch?" I ask

"We'll talk about that later should we order now I'm starving" she said

"Fine one  caramel machiatto and a chocolate cake for me" I said

"mocha frappuccino and strawberry cheese cake for me" Jessica said

So after 10 minutes our order came, and to my shock they order the tall one this meeting will take a while

"Tabi's ex flame meeting will start now, so did you received it?" Sica started the meeting

Yeah they always call it that way, technically only the two of them were his ex and I'm just how can i say it, I'm his pretend ex girlfriend.  he was one my schoolmate in high school were not close but we do know each other, then in college we went to the same school that's how we met Jessica.  Tabi likes Jessica so he tried to woo her but unfortunately for him Sica doesn't want an inexperience boyfriend because she believe that she will be the experiment girlfriend were the guy make the most mistakes and she don't want that so he ask me to help him since I'm the only "girl" friend he knows that time.  we pretended to be bf-gf during our high school days, he portrayed the helpless romantic, knight in shinning armor while i took the role of the who heartless girl who dump him during on prom night but we remained good friends after the break up. A wicked story right so that's how he manage to be Jessica's boyfriend.  as for tiffany she was introduced to me by Tabi and the rest is history.

"Yes" i said

"Yes he personally give it to me" Tiff said

"Mine too he gave it to me yesterday" Jessica in wait what he personally give it to them not that I'm complaining but heck I've known him the longest and we are friends and he only mailed his wedding invitation to me while he personally delivered the rest.

"So have you met the girl?" tiff ask me as Jessica looked at me waiting for my answer

"I met her once but we did not talk that much"

"She's a the evil witch" tiff suddenly said

"Hey both of you, you have your new partners now why are you still curios about him?" i ask

"Duh Yoong after our break I thought he will get you back but by that time you have Donghae already" Jessica explained

"Sica its long been over for us" I replied another lie OMG Choi Seunghyun made me a big fat liar

"Yoong haven't you notice?" Tiff ask again

"Notice what?"

"OMG Yoong your so clueless, after your break up with him, he has been in and out of a relationship"

"But his relationship with both of you lasted longer than ours" another lie there was never US to begin with

"Tiff have you felt that he is looking something in you that reminds him of Yoong?"

"Yes its like whenever he is in a relationship he tries to find something Yoona-ish in his partner which is most of the time the cause of his break up" Tiffany backed up Jessica's assumption.

"Remember when he cried because you broke up, he never cried when he  broke up with his other girlfriends including us" Jessica continue another LIE he never cried it was just a story we made to make Jessica think he have girlfriend experience.

"I don't know besides he have not talk to me for 6 months" honestly I don't know what to think the real things that happen between us and the lies we made up are getting mixed up I don't know which is real and which is not

"So talk to him, that evil witch is not good she is cheating on him" Tiff said

"Why don't you tell him yourself"

"He  won't believe me, I tried to tell him but he just ignore me, the witch put a spell on him"

"So what made you think I can convince him to cancel the wedding which by the way will happen in 2 weeks time" I said

"Because he listens to you, he always does" Jessica said giving my hand a squeeze

"Fine what is the plan" I said giving up they will never let me go if I did not agree to them

After one hour of discussing the plan tiffany called Jaejong her new boyfriend and a close friend of of Tabi

"Okay done deal he will be at the gym tomorrow morning you can meet him there" Tifany said

"Okay but just this once okay"

"Okay thank Yoong and goodluck"

That night I can't sleep still thinking what Sica and Tiff told me.  Remembering all the things we did and what we made up trying to sort things over until I fell asleep.  The next day I woke up from my phone, its ringing I check the time 7 am who would call me this early

/Yah remember our plan Jae said he will go there in 1 hour so better get your lazy in there/

With that i hurriedly took a bath and put on some decent clothes a white tank top with blue skinny top with a sweater, I dried my hair and pull it in a pony, satisfied with my look hey I'm going to the gym not a fancy resto. went out took my car and drive to the gym. after 10 minutes I was there good thing there is a mini cafe beside the gym so I waited for him.  After 5 minutes he came wearing a white shirt and faded jeans couple outfit? its just a coincidence.  pushing that thought aside i went up to him

"Hey are you avoiding me?" I ask

"Nnnoo, why would i avoid you?"

"Well first you send me this via mail while you personally deliver the rest" handing him the wedding invitation

"I was busy"

"Is that why you haven't talk to me for six months?"

"Oh so now your counting the months I have not call you since when did you care?" he shot back I was shocked of course I care he is my friend

"We care for you"

"We? Did Sica and Tiff put you up for this?"

"Well, they were worried they told me she is not a good person" I explained

"She promise she'd change"

"Huh? so you know she is cheating on you?"

"She told me but that was in the past"

"And you believe her?"

"Yes I BELIEVE her and she makes me feel that I know where I stand in her life"

"Fine then go marry her for all I care"

"What do you really want me to do?" I want you to cancel the wedding i wanted to tell him that but i did not

"Do whatever you want" I said and walk out

"Then why did you come here?" he shouted 

I really don't know why I'm doing this, I don't know if I'm in love with my pretend boyfriend or I'm in love with the real him.  I can't even differentiate the real things we did for each other and the lies we made up.  We were too caught up with all the lies we made that the reality now is a blur.

"Yoong" as I felt his arms around my body "Remember the dates we had six months ago?"

"Yes our friendly dates" trying to remember everything, we go out almost every other day eat dinner, watch movies, walks in the park

"Those were not friendly dates, its me trying to woo you"

"What but all those times i thought you were dating your now fiancee Gina?"

"We broke up but I did not tell you since you were too devastated by your break up with Donghae"

"..." now I remember I called him I was crying then and he came with a Baskin robin's in his hand, that was the first time we slept together with clothes on of course

"Yoong I have loved with you for 4 years" he did LOVED? as in, in the past

"Really then why were you in a relationship every six months" I shot back

"Because you keep coming back to that Donghae"

"Then why didn't you stop me"

"I told you I don't like him every since you two got together I was always against it"

"You never gave me a reason, you just told me you don't like him, what did you expect me to do dump him because my friend doesn't like him?"

"Your ex boyfriend doesn't like  him" he corrected

"There was never US tabi, the US you are talking about was never real it was just our imagination to get Jessica to like you" I said tears flowing down my eyes, he let go of me as I run towards my car and left him there. I sent message to Tiff and Sica that I failed.  They called me and when they heard my sobbing they immediately went to may house with 2 can of baskin robin's

"Sshhhh it okay Yoong" Tiff said as she rub my back

"I'm sorry Yoong, if we did not ask you to do that this will never happen" Jessica said as she hug me

"It's okay at least now I know what I really feel but I guess it is too late"

"Don't worry Yoong we will always be here for you"

"Thank you"

We had a sleep over that night, Sica and Tiff tried everything to make me feel better, at least two good things happen because of the pretend relationship I've met two beautiful, smart and caring friends.

2 weeks have passed its the day of his wedding, Tiff, Sica and I went together, there were only few guest when we arrived

"Are we too early for the ceremony?" Tiff ask us

"I don't know"

"Hey Tiff why don't you ask your boyfriend his the best man right?" Jessica said which prompted Tiff to call her boyfriend

"Yoongie he canceled the wedding"

"Jae told me"

I ran as fast i can towards the place we always talk about, the place were our pretend relationship started, the place where he would want to propose to his soon to be girlfriend.  As i went closer and closer to that place, I saw a figure standing under the tree
