Aerin’s POV

The last day of our summer vacation had finally ended.  Though I couldn't wait to start school, my heart still wished to stay longer in Hong Kong.  We had just entered the airport, while my mom and dad were busy checking in on our flight.  The airport in Hong Kong was crowded with people rushing back and forth, so instead of standing, I found a nearby bench to sit down.  While waiting for my parents to return, I took a small lemon lollipop out of my bag and stuck it in my mouth.  Nobody would bother to listen, so I decided to hum a song by the Wonder Girls, “Nobody" to pass time.

“Hmm hmm hmm ~” I hummed to myself.

Suddenly, from the corner of my eyes, I saw a figure sit down at the other end of the bench.  I couldn’t help but turn around to take a glimpse.  His hair was golden blonde, matched with sparkling dark brown eyes.  The skin on his cute baby face was smooth and pimple-less.

“Annyeonghaseyo.” The boy greeted me with a sweet smile.

I guess he noticed I was staring at him.

I took the lollipop out of my mouth and replied back, feeling a little curious.  “Annyeonghaseyo.  How’d you know I’m Korean?”

“Don’t you think you look Korean?”  The boy asked.

“People have mistaken me as a Hong Konger before; until they found out I couldn’t understand Cantonese.”

There was a few seconds of silence.  I guess it was dumb of me to ask him that question.  Of course I looked Korean.  I AM Korean!

“I’m Yoseob by the way.  Yang Yoseob.”  He said at last, putting out his hand.

“Aerin.  Song Aerin.”  I smiled and politely shook his hand.

“Aerin-ah.  Can you go get a luggage cart for the suitcases please?  Your Eomma and I will be with you in a bit.”  My dad said to me.

I nodded and stood up from the bench.

“Yah, stop flirting and help me with these suitcases!”  My older brother, Jaemin, called out to me loudly.

“OPPA!”  I shouted angrily across, and then suddenly remembered that Yoseob was still here.

“I have to go now.  It was nice meeting you.” I gave a shy smile, embarrassed by my brother.  I couldn’t help but wonder if this would be the last time I would ever see him again.

“It was nice meeting you too.  Annyeonghikasayo!”  Yoseob stood up too.

“Annyeonghikaysayo!” I waved and started walking towards the line of luggage carts.

“Ah~” I let out a content sigh and dropped myself onto my bed.

Home at last!  It felt nice to sleep on my own bed again.  It was late 11 o’clock at night, so I didn’t bother unpacking my luggage now, though I suddenly remembered something.  I rummaged through my pockets, but oddly, it wasn’t there.  I took out the loose change in my right pocket and emptied my left pocket.

“It must be in here somewhere!  I know it!  Why can’t I find it?!”  I looked through all the suitcases that came with us to Hong Kong, but it wasn’t there.

I couldn’t believe I lost my gift from Dad.  During our trip in Hong Kong, I had pointed out to him that this bracelet was really pretty, and on the day of our departure, he showed up with the very same bracelet.  It was a charm bracelet, with a pink crystal heart charm.  I didn’t even have the time to wear it, and I already lost it.

“Aerin-ah.  What’s all the noise about?”  Mom walked into my room, and noticed the big mess I made from my wild search.

 “Eomma, have you seen my bracelet?  The silver charm bracelet with a pink crystal heart!”  I asked anxiously.

“ Ahneeyo.  Where did you last see it?”

“I don’t know!”

“Well you’ll have to look for it some other time.  Better sleep now, you have school tomorrow.”  Mom closed the door behind her.

I let out a frustrated groan.  I quickly showered and sat on my bed.  Where could it be?  I decided to get a good night’s sleep, and maybe when I wake up tomorrow, it will somehow reappear to me again.
