The electricity to the entire hotel shut off and the emergeny lights started flashing all throughout the halls. Bang left room and was immediately colliding with the other residents of the hotel. He managed to break himself free from the groups of people, his head starting to hurt from all the screaming and crying. He needed to find Danny. He needed to make sure he was ok. An employee from the hotel was yelling directions in Portugese, making it hard for Bang to pick out what he was saying. Luckily for him another employee showed up and started translating in english.

"Ladies and gentlemen rescue units have appeared to take away from the city's danger zone. We ask that you please rush down a couple of stories so they can evacuate you with their rafts!" He yelled. Bang nodded his head and headed towards the stairs along with all the other people. He tried his best not to push and shove, Danny made him realize that in situations like this he needed to remain calm and have a level head. The residents finally made it  to the floor they were requested to go to. Rescue divers were escorting them all into different hotel rooms, where they would be boarded onto one of the rafts through the window. Bang was surprised at how high the water had raised when he was escorted onto his raft. He looked into the water noticing all the debris floating around. A gasp escaped his throat when he noticed a body floating backside up in the distance. What if that was Danny? What if he was somewhere out there floating by people who wouldn't recognize him.

"Are you Yongguk Bang?" A diver asked, snapping him out of his dark thoughts. He looked at him and nodded his head. The diver smiled. "We're taking you to your travel group at the hospital. Is you friend Danny with you?" Bang shook his head, fear overwhelming him.

"He left the hotel to go to the market," He explained. "Can we look for him? We have to look for him!"

"I'm afraid I can't do that-"

"I'm NOT leaving him!" Bang yelled, fighting back tears in his eyes. The diver sighed.

"Look, kid. I'm going to be honest. If your friend was out there when the wave hit-"

"No-"

"Then he's probably gone-"

"NO!" Bang cried, attempting to jump off the raft. The diver grabbed him and pulled him down, another diver showing up to help him.

"You're safety is my only responsibility kid!" He yelled. "I'm taking you to the hospital!" The raft took off and Bang couldn't do anything but cry. What kind of boyfriend was he? What kind of man was he? He didn't deserve Danny, he couldn't protect him either. The raft kept speeding through the water, passing by houses that were completely covered in water save for the roofs, where families were sitting and waiting for help. It's hard to believe that just last night Bang thought this was one of the most beautiful place he's ever laid eyes on, and now it was the biggest tragedy. They arrived at the hospital and Bang got off the raft without a word to any of the divers. He walked through the busy hospitals halls until he spotted his group from school, Brooke and Himchan not too far away. Brooke looked up and gasped as she rushed to him and wrapped her arms around him.

"Holy , Bang, you scared me!" she cried, clinging to him. Bang just stood there and started crying again. Brooke was Danny's best friend. If anyone expected Bang to protect him, it was her. How was he going to tell her that he failed? How was he going to tell Danny's parents that he couldn't save their little boy?

"Bang?" Himchan asked. "Are you alright man? You had us worried."

"He's gone," Bang whispered. He pulled away to look Brooke in the eye. "Danny's gone."

"What?" she asked.

"I couldn't protect him, and now he's dead," Bang explained. Brooke exchanged glances at Himchan before grabbing Bang's hand and tugging his hand, pulling him down the hall. "Where are we going?" he asked. She ignored him until they reached a room.

"Just shut up and go in there," she said. Bang was confused, but he did as he was said and walked into the room.

"Oh, hey!" Bang's eyes widened as he stared at Danny smiling at him. He looked exactly like the last time Bang saw him, minus the bandages wrapped around his head. He moved in such a flash that Danny only had time to cry out before Bang pressed his lips tightly against his own. The familiar feeling of Danny's lips was what finally calmed him down. He slowly pulled away and kissed the boy's nose.

"You are never leaving my side again," Bang told him. Danny laughed.

"What about when I have to go to the bathroom?"

"I'll go with you."

"So this mean you'll stop leaving the room everytime I put on Girl, Interrupted?" He asked. Bang pretended to think about it.

"Actually, you can still watch it by yourself." He let Danny push him as he laughed and pulled the boy in the hug. "But really, I was so worried about you."

"Me too," Danny said, breathing into his neck. "But we should go. They need this room for other patients."

"Right," Bang said, helping Danny to his feet. His hand slipped into his neighbor's. "I love you, Danny." Danny looked at him and smiled.

"I love you, too."
