Dara sighed as she stared at nothing in particular. She was currently seating in her classroom waiting for their professor to arrive

 

It has been exactly three days since Sehun’s birthday and everything is not yet normal in their house. Besides from the fact that all of the boys especially Chanyeol, Xiumin and Sehun were still heavily bandaged, the atmosphere was still tense. Total silence is observed in the house. They eat breakfast in the morning then go to school. When they arrive from school, they will head to their rooms directly and will only come out when it’s dinner time.

 

The reason for this set-up is because Suho confiscated every gaming console in the house and he banned them from watching television. This would probably last until Kris and Suho’s anger subsides

 

Another sigh escape Dara’s lips. I miss the loud and rowdy boys already she thought sadly

 

She was lost in her thought that she didn’t noticed Bom seating beside her.

 

Bom stared at Dara worriedly. She must be thinking about the boys

 

“Hey…” Bom nudged Dara gently

 

Dara looked at her and answered weakly “Hey to you too…”

 

“Dara, are you thinking about the boys? Stop worrying, they’ll be back to normal in no time. This happens every time Kris and Suho get mad anyway. They’ll surely be back after a week or two” Bom explained

 

“I know that already Bom. But I really miss them already. The atmosphere at home is so heavy and no one is even talking!” Dara whined as she lightly banged her head at her desk

 

“Aigoo, Dara-yah, stop worrying already! I think that you should do other things so that your attention would be diverted somehow…” Bom trailed on. Dara immediately got what she was pointing out

 

Dara immediately raised her head and glared at Bom

 

“Don’t ever think that I had forgiven you yet. Besides leaving me last Friday, you even volunteered me to become your assistant on the university’s upcoming event. I can’t believe you had to drag me with you in that stupid event!” Dara hissed angrily

 

“Dara-ah, I’m doing this for you! We could meet new friends in this event!” Bom beamed

 

“You know that I’m uncomfortable with all that interacting crap” Dara retorted. “In addition, planning and preparing for the event would eat my time even during the weekends. So do you think I could squeeze in our Lotte World day with the boys with this kind of schedule?”

 

Dara groaned

 

“Well, don’t worry about that! Sheesh, I’ll take care of it. Just trust in me, okay!” Bom confidently stated matching the smug look on her face

 

Sandara stared at her in disbelief

 

“What do you mean? Trust you?! Aisht, you talk like it is the easi—“Dara was cut off when Ms. Kim arrived

 

Great timing she thought as she shot Bom a glare

 

Bom only winked at her in return much to her displeasure

 

She ignored her and focused on Ms. Kim instead. She began her usual routine of checking the attendance before starting her class.

 

Afterwards, she stood at the center of the classroom

 

“So, I know that the university’s founding anniversary will be happening in one month” Ms. Kim started

 

Everyone in the classroom grew excited. Even Bom was smiling. An event means irregular classes and time for some fun. Only Dara frowned. I’d rather study than participate… she murmured sadly

 

“I know you’re all excited for that event so before you guys have your fun, I’m gonna give you a project that is to be passed a week before the event” she grinned evilly

 

The students all whined at the same. Devil teacher is really evil they all thought. Donghae scoffed in annoyance “What the hell!” he muttered but not loud enough for Ms. Kim to hear

 

Dara watched her classmates in amusement. She could only smirk seeing how disappointed they were. That’s Ms. Kim for you…

 

“So let me explain the rubrics for this project. It will be done by pair and since this is a science class, you’ll have to present any study or experiment regarding the changes in the environment. You could go research about plants or the atmosphere. I don’t care as long as it is science-related and of course, done with mastery” she explained with a sharp tone

 

The class whined for another round. Omo! This is exciting! She said as she looked at Bom meaningfully. Bom nodded at her in understanding. I can be partners with Bom!

 

“And one more thing, I already did the pairings and I’m going to announce it right now” she said as she opened her notebook. I stared at Bom in horror and she stared back. She held my hand and I panicked inside. Please not Lee Donghae or Jung Krystal! Not Donghae, not him please! I prayed hard

 

Ms. Kim started to announce the pairs. She started mentioning names. When Bom got called Sandara grew more nervous because she was paired with Han Ga In while Donghae and Krystal were not yet called!

 

“Krystal Jung… you’re paired with Lee Joon” Ms. Kim announced making Krystal wide eyed

 

“Ms. Kim! Please let me be Donghae’s partner instead!” Krystal raised her right hand as she protested

 

Ms. Kim stared at her blankly. “No. My decision is final” she said in finality as she continued. Krystal stomped her foot in frustration

 

Only 4 students are not yet called including me and Donghae. My eyes unconsciously darted off to his direction and his eyes were on me too. Our eyes met and he smirked. I immediately looked away from him. Not him please, not him

 

“Sandara Park…” Ms. Kim trailed on. I continued to pray, not him, not him!

 

“…and Lee Donghae” she finished. “So the last pair would be Jung Seung Ho and Park Hyesun”

 

I cannot believe this. Did I hear her right?

 

Lee Donghae… Lee Donghae… Lee Donghae

 

I looked at Bom and I saw her eyes were full of worry. I didn’t want her to worry for me so I tried my best to give her a small smile.

 

Suddenly, I heard chuckling sounds coming from the bastard’s direction

 

“Daebak! This is daebak!” he was shouting while laughing. I felt my eyebrows furrowing. I couldn’t see anything amusing in our situation except for the fact that I would surely be facing great hardships for the next three weeks.

 

I saw Krystal shooting me a glare. She must be thinking that I wanted this, tch. I gave her my icy glare in return. She immediately looked away still irritated. Stupid girl I thought

 

I can feel my world crumbling down in front of me. Why of all people, Ms. Kim partnered me with that bastard?!

 

“Ice Geek!” I snapped from my trance when I heard Donghae’s annoying voice

 

I looked at him blankly. I’m not in the mood to ride on with his filthy mouth

 

“You be—“he was cut off when Ms. Kim suddenly talked

 

“You can get to know your partner after my class Mr. Lee” she said as she started with her discussion. Donghae scoffed but his face showed that he was happy. Happy in a bad way.

 

Before I could look away from him, I saw his lips moving as if he was saying something to me

 

“Be prepared, Dara-ah” Donghae murmured while grinning

 

I immediately looked away.

 

I really need to prepare for this, she thought as she focused her attention on the discussion.

Sandara’s POV

 

My class ended early. I was fixing my things when Bom approached me

 

“Dara-yah, do you want me to talk to Ms. Kim? I can try persuading her to change your partner…”she offered. Although Bom doesn’t know about what happened between me and Donghae, I know that she could feel how uncomfortable I am with him

 

I gave her a smile. “Thank you for the offer Bom-ah. But I think I can manage” I tried to sound as confident as possible. I can’t always make her worry for me. I don’t want to burden her with my trust issues with other people and besides, 3 weeks is a short time. Knowing Lee Donghae, he would probably make me do all the work while he goes out and have some fun. That’s better for me though

 

“Are you sure? Donghae is one of the people who bully you most in the classroom. Dara, I can’t help but worry for you” she held my hand and stared at me with pitiful eyes.

 

This is what I am talking about. Bom may always tease me and be loud every time but she is the one who cares for the most. She’s really like my sister

 

I gave her hand a squeeze and gave her a reassuring smile.

 

“I’ll be okay, I promise” I told her. I really hope that I’ll be okay, I thought

 

“Okay. But promise me that you’ll tell me once that guy does something bad to you, arasso?” she exclaimed

 

“I promise!” I answered as I raised my right hand as if making an oath

 

Bom grinned and gave my right hand a high-five.

 

Suddenly her phone rang. She grabbed her phone from her shoulder bag and when she saw who the caller was, a smile spread across her face

 

“Omo! It’s Tabi! I need get this Dara-yah. Please wait for me here okay?” she answered the call and ran outside the classroom even before I can respond

 

Our other classmates had already left the room and I was the only one left. I decided to wait for Bom so I sat again on my chair. I brought out my textbook for Mathematics since we have an exam tomorrow and I’ll be probably working until midnight later

 

I was seriously working on a problem that I didn’t notice someone entering the room. Suddenly, I felt someone standing behind my seat. It’s probably Bom, I thought

 

I didn’t bother looking behind because I was convinced that it was Bom

 

“You’re done talking with Top? Let me just finish this so we could go home” I told her

 

But I didn’t expect a manly voice to reply instead

 

“Who’s Top?”

 

I was surprised and when I looked behind, Donghae was standing behind my seat while crossing his arms

 

My eyes widened and when he saw my shocked face, he chuckled

 

“So, who’s Top?” he asked again. He was staring at me with amused eyes

 

I recovered from my shock and stood up

 

“He’s someone not of your concern” I answered as I immediately packed my books in my back pack

 

“Hey, hey are you trying to leave me?” he said as he walked in front of my desk. I ignored him and my eyes were focused on my things

 

He scoffed and held both my wrists making me stop

 

“Don’t ignore me” he said. I stared at his face and he looked pissed

 

I tried getting out from his grip but he held me too tightly. Our eyes locked with each other

 

“I have no time to waste for you so you better let me go” I coldly stated as I gave him a cold glare

 

He smirked in response and his face was slowly inching closer to my face

 

He stopped when his nose was about to touch mine

 

“What if I don’t want to?” he teased, his eyes not leaving mine

 

I tried backing away but he held both my wrists tightly. I was really uncomfortable with our distance that is surely violating my personal space

 

I chose to act unaffected. I didn’t want him to get the chance to feel satisfied by pissing me off

 

“I’m telling you to let me go or else I’ll make you regret this” I threatened him as an idea formed in my mind

 

His face showed that he was shocked for a few seconds then it changed to his amused one again. He chuckled.

 

I got distracted as I noticed that I could literally feel his breath from our current position. His breath felt cool and it had a minty scent. His perfume also stuck my senses as a manly scent lingered on my nose…

 

Aisht! What am I saying? I thought as I mentally slapped myself

 

I live with 12 boys but I never had the chance to be this close with them except for Chanyeol’s excessive skinship and for Sehun’s recent kiss on my cheek. I felt my heart beat faster. I do not know if it’s because I remember the kiss or it is because of Donghae’s face being so close to mine

 

Gaaahhhh! What am I thinking?! I panicked inside. It’s a good thing that I learned how to control my expressions in different kind of situations

 

I was spacing out when suddenly, he leaned his face closer and rubbed his nose on mine

 

My eyes widened in surprise.

 

Did he just rub his nose on mine?!

 

“Hey… stop spacing out. I’m still here in front of you Ice Geek” he showed me a boyish grin

 

What the ?! I felt my face turned hot. I stared at him and his face looked like he is something unbelievable

 

Oh my God! Am I blushing right now?!

 

“Yah! Let me go already you jerk!!!” I shouted. I didn’t care if I was being loud

 

“Whoa… Did you just shout at me?” he looked at me in bewilderment

 

“Are you stupid?! I just did and I’m doing it again now!” I struggled to escape

 

His reaction then surprised me. He laughed out really loud but he still held wrists

 

“You really never fail to amuse me Sandara Park! Who would have ever thought that you have the capacity to shout like that!” he continued to laugh

 

I got pissed and the next thing I did was something that he didn’t probably expect

 

I kicked my desk hard making it hit his lower area hard.

 

He screamed in pain and he let go of my wrists

 

“Yahhh! Why did you that?!” he said as he sat in the floor. I didn’t bother looking at him as I made my way towards the door. Payback, you bastard, I murmured.

 

I could still hear his shouts of pain and when I was about to reach the door, it was opened roughly

 

“Dara-yah! I’m sorry I took a long time. Top said that he—“ Bom entered the room and stopped talking when she saw me standing in front of her. I could see her eyes widening when she saw Donghae grimacing on the floor not too far away behind me

 

“What happened here…” she murmured as she stared at me

 

“Nothing. We’re going now” I said as I started making my way. Bom looked dumbfounded but trailed behind my back

 

I was about to grab the knob when I heard Donghae’s voice

 

“Ice Geek!” I stopped on my track, Bom did too

 

“When are we going to meet for the project?” he asked while panting. I was surprised. He came here to talk about the project? I looked back at him and saw him still grimacing.

 

I didn’t give him an answer and he continued to speak

 

“Let’s meet on Saturday” he said with finality. I stared at him and he looked so serious

 

“Let’s just talk about where tomorrow” he continued as he stood up

 

Wa—wait! Does this mean that we will really work together? My eyes unconsciously landed on Bom who looked confused as well.

 

Donghae is known for being one of the laziest students that this school had ever had. Donghae talking about working for a project is somehow, shocking

 

“Fine” I nonchalantly said as I continued my way to the door. I can’t talk to this unpredictable guy anymore

 

“Ice geek! Remember that I’ll get back at you for what you did! You have so many things to pay for” he shouted with a warning tone behind my back. I ignored him and left immediately

 

When we were outside the building, I heaved a deep sigh

 

“Dara-ah, what was Donghae talking about? You need to pay for what?” she asked me. I’m making her worry again

 

“Don’t mind him Bom. Even I don’t know what he was talking about” I lied and Bom only nodded at me

 

“If you say so… Just be careful around him Dara” she warned me

 

“Of course I will. I promised you, right?”

 

I won’t let Bom be involved in this or any other person close to me for the matter... Also, I promised Luhan that I won’t let Donghae hurt me again… And I intend to do keep that promise

 

Bom smiled at me and held my hand

 

“Alright! Let’s go home then!” she beamed as she led the way merrily
