“Boo”

 

“Waaahhhh! Waahhhh! Nooooo! Please don’t hurt me! Waaahhh!” Sehun shouted as he fell down from shock. He was shamelessly crying and he was situated on the floor

 

Only his sobs can be heard from the darkness of the night

 

Sehun braved himself and tried to come up with ways on how he could escape his dreaded situation but came up with none.

 

He was on the verge of being hysterical when suddenly, he heard chuckling sounds

 

“Too much… This is too much! HAHAHAHA!” the unknown creature burst into fits of laughter

 

He can talk? So he’s not a ghost after all? He must be a robber then!

 

“Yah! Who are you?! Are you a robber?! You’re not supposed to take anything from here!” he regained his composure as he stood up and tried to grab the man. I will protect this house!

 

He was near the man when suddenly; a familiar figure hugged him from behind

 

“1… 2… 3!” Dara shouted as the door opened and the lights went on

 

“Surprise! Happy birthday dear maknae Sehun!” the boys shouted at the same time while releasing paupers. They were all wearing colourful birthday hats. Bom was also present and she was holding a delicious looking chocolate cake with 2 candles that are the numbers, 1 and 5.

 

Chanyeol, the “creature” in front of him showered him with some colourful confetti

 

“Happy birthday to you, our sentimental maknae! You’re really funny when you’re scared!”

 

Sehun stood frozen. He was speechless

 

“Oh my! Our birthday boy is speechless!” Bom as she went closer to him

 

Dara, the one who hugging him felt that Sehun was trembling

 

“Hey Sehunnie, what’s wrong?” she asked him worriedly as she looked at him from his side

 

All of the other boys were silent. They approached Sehun worriedly.

 

“I know that scaring him is terrible! Look, he’s trembling in fear!” Xiumin exclaimed as he removed some of the paupers from his hair

 

“Who thought of this part anyway?” Kai added and his eyes came in contact with Suho.

 

Suho gave him a knowing look. Oh never mind

 

Luhan felt bad. He stared at his brother who was still silent and was looking down.

 

He went near Sehun and touched his right cheek.

 

“Mianhe Sehun-ah… Were you that scared? We just did this to make your birthday more memorable” he said. The other people in the room nodded in agreement. They waited for Sehun to talk

 

“Sehun-ah…?” Dara stopped hugging him and went in front of Sehun. “Are you mad at us?”

 

Sehun inhaled inaudibly before he talked

 

“I’m not mad, noona. It’s just that—“ Sehun was cut off when his tears flowed from his eyes

 

“Omo! Sehun-ah, don’t cry” Dara comforted him as he pressed her hands on both sides of his cheeks

 

The other boys were suddenly alarmed. They didn’t know that Sehun will react this way

 

“I’ m not mad noona… Really... It’s just that I’m so happy right now” he sobbed. “I thought that you all had forgotten about my birthday… I thought that all of you didn’t care about me… I thou--, I thought that I would be celebrating my birthday alone… I was really lonely, noona” he said in between his sobs

 

Dara hugged him. “Sehun-ah, of course you’re special to us. We are living together for almost ten years now and we will never forget about your special day. We are a family” she said as she smiled at him.

 

He stared at her then at Luhan who gave him a small smile.

 

Sehun hugged her back. “I know noona. I won’t be too emotional again.” He said as he wiped his tears with his right hand. Dara tapped his back comfortingly until he had fully calmed down.

 

Bom suddenly clapped her hand

 

“Okay! Let’s end the drama shall we? It’s already 7:30 and we only have less than 5 hours to celebrate Sehun’s birthday!” Bom tried to lighten up the mood “We have a lot more things to show you!”

 

“Bom-noona’s right! Come on Sehun-ah! Stop being sad already” Tao said as he approached Sehun and grabbed his hand. Sehun looked at his bestfriend and gave him a smile. “Okay! I can’t wait to see what you guys prepared for me!” Sehun beamed. He was back to being the all-smiles Sehun.

 

When the boys saw his smile, the other boys can’t help but smile as well.

 

Dara giggled when she saw the other Exo boys smiling. Even the usually stoic Kris had a small smile on his face

 

The maknae effect is really great!

 

“Before anything else, birthday boy should blow his candles first!” Bom exclaimed as she lit up the candles on the cake

 

“What a pretty cake Bom-noona! Is this a cake from your bakery?” Sehun exclaimed as he stared at the mouth-watering looking cake

 

“Yup! But it is actually I who baked this for you. This is my gift for your 15^th birthday!”

 

“Really?! Thank you Bom-noona! I’m sure that this will really taste good!”

 

“Okay everybody! Let’s all sing!” Tao interrupted and the others nodded in agreement

 

Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday, happy birthday, happy birthday Sehunnie~ they merrily sang in chorus while clapping

 

Sehun beamed as he leaned in to blow the candles

 

“Sehun-ah, don’t forget to make a wish!” D.O reminded him

 

“Yes, hyung!”

 

Before doing so, Sehun glanced at the people around him. They were all giving him a warm smile

 

He felt loved and really happy

 

I wish that we will always be happy together. A happy family…

 

He blew the first candle

 

When he was about to blow the second one, he noticed that Dara and Luhan were standing close together.

 

He stopped for a while and smiled. I have two wishes for my birthday. Aigoo, I’m being greedy on my birthday!

 

After thinking of his second wish, he blew the last candle

 

Everyone in the room clapped.

 

“What did you wish for Sehun-ah?” Kai asked

 

“I will tell you later hyungs! I want to see the other surprises first!” He stated excitedly

 

“Aigoo, what an excited kid! Okay, let’s go then!” Suho exclaimed as he went out of the room

 

The boys, Bom and Dara followed him, they were excited as well

“So for our first surprise, you’ve actually seen it already” Suho exclaimed as he looked around. “Since most of us here are first timers in your old house, we decided to make it extraordinarily clean! Looks like a new house neh?” He added

 

“Yes hyung! I was actually surprised when I saw the house all sparkly and clean!” Sehun said while smiling showing how much he liked the first surprise

 

“We’re happy that you noticed! Xiumin-hyung and I had a hard time to clean this big house! Aigoo, it took us two days to make it this clean!” Chanyeol complained. Xiumin was nodding his head in agreement.

 

“Only the two of you?! Oh, that must have been really tough” Sehun gasped.

 

“You bet! We felt like housemaids these past few days. Suho-hyung had rea—“ Xiumin was interrupted when Suho went beside him

 

“I don’t think so Sehunnie, these two boys had willingly done this for a better surprise for your birthday. No need to worry about them. Am I right, Chanyeol-ah, Xiumin-ah?” Suho smoothly explained as he gave the two a knowing smile

 

“O-Of course, Suho-hyu--, no, Sehunnie! We did this for you voluntarily!” Chanyeol exclaimed as he gave Sehun a forced smile

 

“Haha… Of course we will do anything for our maknae!” Xiumin laughed awkwardly

 

“Is that so hyungs? Thank you very much! I really like it!” Sehun said as he gave his two hyungs a hug

 

The two guys can only chuckle as they both pat him on the head. All our efforts were worth it, they both thought

 

“Okay, let’s go to the next!” Suho grabbed Sehun’s hand and walked towards the backyard

 

When they were out, Sehun was fascinated by the amazing sight before him

 

The overgrown grasses from their backyard were nowhere in sight. They were replaced by trimmed grasses that barely reach the ankle. Flower-bearing plants were planted around and they were a combination of yellow, pink and red. Colorful lights were also visible. They were placed on the trees beautifully and they gave the night a relaxing vibe. Tables and chairs that were covered in white and blue were also present. A long table filled with different types of food were situated on the left-side corner while a smaller table covered with a white sheet was on the right side. But the best thing that almost made him cry again is the big banner that says, Happy 15^th birthday to our beloved maknae, Sehun! We will always love you! We are one, in mind, in heart and in soul! <3

 

He was rendered speechless once again. He could only stare appreciatively on the sight before him

 

“Do you like it?” Suho meekly asked as he rubbed his nape. “Chen and Baek were the ones who planted those beautiful flowers” Suho said as he looked at Baek and Chen who had a proud smile on their faces. “Kai and Tao were the ones who trimmed the grass” they both gave Sehun a thumbs up. “Kris-hyung was responsible for putting up the lights” Kris nodded. “Lay and D.O prepared the food” they gave him a smile. “Luhan, Dara-noona and I were the over-all facilitators of this surprise. We were the ones who took care of the organization of everything… And that wonderful banner was created by all of us” Suho ended as he gave Sehun his signature charming smile. “So what do you think?”

 

They all stared at Sehun expectantly

 

“What do I think about all of this, you ask?” Sehun started indifferently

 

“Well, yeah… uhm, we want to know if you liked it…” Luhan stared at his brother

 

“What do I think?! Oh my God, Luhan-hyung! This is absolutely amazing!” he said as he literally jumped on Luhan and locked him in a tight embrace

 

“Thank you very much! Thank you very much, Luhan-hyung! I love you! You’re the best brother in the world!” he released Luhan and moved towards the other Exo boys.

 

He gave them all a tight embrace. “Thank you, hyung! I love you! Thank you for all your efforts. You really made my birthday really memorable! ” he thanked his Exo brothers one-by-one

 

When he finally reached Tao, Tao opened his arms and was waiting for Sehun to hug him but instead, Sehun gave him a light punch on the shoulder

 

“Huang Zi Tao! You mean person! How could you be absent in school and leave me alone all day?!” he whined.

 

Tao rubbed the area where he was hit

 

“Aigoo! Why did you hit me?! I’m sorry okay?! Of course I did that for the preparations for your party!” he retorted

 

“Tch! Arasso! I will forgive you. You’re my one and only best friend after all” Sehun gave Tao a tight embrace and Tao returned it equally

 

“I’m really sorry for making you feel lonely. Moreover, I hope that our surprise party is enough to compensate your day of loneliness”

 

“This is more than enough if I must say!” they both giggled

 

“Sehun-ah…” Luhan called interrupting the two

 

“What is it hyung?” he asked as he went closer to his hyung

 

“Ahh you see, before we eat the food that Lay and D.O prepared, we have a third surprise for you.”

 

“Chincha?!”

 

“Yup! Chanyeol-ah, please unveil the presents!”

 

Chanyeol removed the sheet that covered the table on the right side. Several boxes with colourful wrappers were revealed

 

“Gifts!” Sehun excitedly ran to the table and begun opening the gifts

 

“Look at this kid, he’s really excited!” Chanyeol snickered as he watched Sehun unwrapping a blue box

 

It was from Lay

 

“Wow! A blue jacket!” Sehun wore it immediately. “It really fits me well! Thank you very much, Lay-hyung!” Lay smiled at him. “I’m glad you liked it!”

 

Sehun continued to open his presents. He received a wallet from Chen; a black-shirt that says, I am the best, from Kai; a purple cap from D.O; several computer game cd’s from Baekhyun; a box of cookies from Chanyeol; a wrist band from Xiumin; a black band bracelet from Tao and a blue Ipod shuffle from Suho

 

Sehun bowed 90 degrees at the boys

 

“Thank you very much! I love all of them!” he exclaimed sincerely. “I’ll make sure that I will use them all!”

 

“I’m glad you liked it” Chen replied

 

“Be sure to treasure them arasso?” Luhan reminded him

 

“Okay hyung!” he answered cheerfully while hugging his gifts on his chest.

 

They were all laughing from Sehun’s cuteness when Kris approached him while holding a brown paper bag

 

“My gift. Use it wisely” He said as he handed his gift to Sehun. Sehun grabbed it immediately and placed the other gifts on the table. From Kris-hyung! What could it be?

 

He opened the paper box instantly and pulled out the box inside

 

It was a cell phone

 

“OH MY GOD HYUNG! I  can’t believe this! W-why? I mean, finally! Thank you very much hyung!” he exclaimed while bowing. “I’ll use it wisely and take care of it!”

 

“Of course you should” Kris said as he messed up Sehun’s hair

 

Cough* cough

 

Sehun was interrupted when Luhan coughed

 

“Sehun-ah… Dara-noona and I have gifts for you too…” Luhan held a small blue box and gave it to Sehun. “I hope you’ll like it… Noona helped me pick this”

 

Sehun’s excitement rose. All of the boys and Bom’s gift were really special. But for him, Luhan’s and Dara’s gift would be a little more special

 

“What could this be?” he excitedly exclaimed as he opened the gift.

 

Inside the box was a watch with a black wrist band and a star design

 

“Aigoo! This is really pretty hyung! I like it! No, I love it!” he said as wore the watch on his left wrist. “Thank you very much, Luhan-hyung!” he smiled brightly at his brother

 

“Anything for you Sehun-ah” he smiled and turned towards Dara, “Now, receive noona’s gift”. Sehun nodded eagerly

 

Dara smiled at Sehun as walked towards her with a big smile on his face. He’s really cute! I hope he likes my gift though…

 

“So what did you get for me noona?”

 

“Hmmm… here!” she handed him a box which was poorly wrapped. Typical noona, the boys thought as they shook their heads in amusement

 

“What’s that Dara-yah! You should’ve asked me to wrap it for you!” Bom pointed at the box

 

“Well, I’m sorry! I tried my best to wrap it well! Anyway, what’s inside is what is really important! She retorted. Bom snickered in return

 

“My Dara-noona is right! I’ll be opening it now!” Sehun said as he grabbed the box. Why is it so light? He wondered

 

He stared at Dara who gave her a cheeky smile in return

 

When he opened the box, he saw two items. A lollipop and an envelope

 

Sehun raised the lollipop. He didn’t know if he was disappointed or he thought that Dara was so cute. I don’t understand noona’s sense sometimes…

 

When the boys saw what he was holding, they laughed

 

“What is this noona?! You gave Sehun a lollipop!” Xiumin exclaimed while holding his stomach from too much laughter

 

“I told you hyung! Sweets as gift is practical. But- but I never thought that noona would think the same! HAHAHAHA” Chanyeol added making all the boys laugh more

 

“Seriously, Dara-ah?” Bom asked her with questioning eyes

 

“Aisht really! There are two items for Christ’s sake! Please open the envelope Sehun-ah” Dara angrily exclaimed as she shot a glare towards the boys’ and Bom’s direction.

 

“Okay, noona” Sehun carefully opened the envelope. What could this be?

 

Inside the envelope was a ticket for Lotte World. For real?! He thought as he stared at Dara

 

“Well uhm… I thought that it would be nice if we go have fun at Lotte World one of these days… I got tickets for the other boys and Bom as well… I think that we should have some sort of family bonding time…” she explained while smiling awkwardly “Although we couldn’t go today, we can go on another day and just pretend that it is like an extension of your celebration… So what do you think?” She asked him shyly

 

Sehun quickly charged in front of her, his eyes not leaving her

 

Dara backed away a little. What’s wrong with him?

 

She was about to ask him when suddenly, Sehun wrapped his arms around her small body and gave her a tight hug

 

“This is the best gift noona! I’ve only been in Lotte world once and that was when I was with hyung and our deceased parents… I’d really love to go there… to experience the happiness again… this time, with my second family…” Sehun tightened his hug as he felt his heart welling in happiness. Noona really knows how to make me happy…

 

Dara gave him a hug in return. “Of course! We will surely make it memorable! You, me, Luhan, your Exo brothers and Bommie!” she beamed

 

Sehun faced her once again. “Thank you noona! You don’t know how much you made me happy!”

 

The next thing that happened was something Dara didn’t expect.

 

Sehun leaned in closer and gave her cheek a quick peck

 

Dara was shocked. She lived together with the boys for several years but this was the first time that one of them had given her a kiss. Except for Chanyeol of course who would peck her on her cheek everyday

 

She stood immobile and she blushed tremendously

 

“Yah! Why did you kiss my noona!” Chanyeol said defensively as he secured Dara on to his arms. “Look at her! She’s really shocked!”

 

Sehun gave him a mehrong in reply and started to ran away

 

“Yah! Come here you—even if it’s your birthday I won’t let you go!” Chanyeol was about to ran after Sehun but someone grabbed his shirt

 

“Stop making a fuss Chanyeol. We’re here to celebrate, not to fight” Kris warned him

 

“But hyu—“

 

“No more buts. Come on everyone, let’s eat before the foods get cold” he released Chanyeol and went towards the table with foods. The others did as well

 

 

Aisht! I’ll get Sehun one of these days! Chanyeol murmured as he followed them while pouting.
